22. Chapter 22
I woke up floating in the darkness. I wasn’t sure when I surrendered to his comfort, but it was like sleeping on a cloud. Had he held me the entire time?
Fingers caressed every inch of me. Countless hands hidden in the shadows.
He said I was the only person he could touch without destroying them. How long had it been since he could touch another human being?
Since that day?
That was probably why he couldn’t keep his hands to himself.
Flutters of kisses brushed my nose, and the shadows surrounding me pulled me tighter, as if he was scared I’d pull away. I was probably a mess of dried tears and snot, but he didn’t mind.
I tried moving my limbs, and his hands adjusted my weight like I was nothing, until I was straddling over something. He brushed the hair out of my eyes with gentle movements that contradicted the strength holding me where I was. “Do you feel better?”
“No.” My eyes burned and throbbed, and I’d bared myself to a monster who would devour me alive, like an idiot.
“Liar.” He pulled my head to rest against what felt like his chest and whispered, “I’ll never let you go. You’ll kill me before I do.”
His words were soothing to the gaping wounds inside me. I wanted to fight against it, to tell him he was the liar, but I was too exhausted from the night before to argue. I didn’t even know how to kill a shadow.
I didn’t even want to get rid of him.
Not really.
That was my real problem with him.
“Why can you touch me, but I can’t touch you?”
He grew more solid under me, as if to prove my point. “Do you want to touch me, Dandelion?”
I wanted to roll my eyes, but I didn’t have the energy. “Yeah, so I can hurt you.”
He chuckled in amusement, sensing my lie. To be fair, my voice wasn’t very convincing.
“Tell me what you want from me.” His breath tickled my ear.
Shame made heat go down to my chest as the thought that needed to stay deep within my mind spilled out. “I want you to make the pain stop.”
Even if it made me fall apart later.
Even though it was wrong to willingly intertwine myself with something that could destroy everyone. I just didn’t have it in me to think about everyone. For once, I was thinking about myself.
Shadows wrapped around me like satin sheets, entrancing me in the smooth movements. I didn’t even realize I was naked until the cool air touched me and something hard rubbed across my clit.
Tendrils of shadow wrapped around my thighs, locking me in place. Panic welled in my chest. I grabbed at them, but only touched my own skin.
“Don’t.”
“It’s okay,” he whispered with enough emotion that one could almost think it was true.
But not me, I knew better.
As if he felt my doubt, whatever rubbed my clit picked up in intensity, until shocks of pleasure demanded my attention. Which was better than being focused on the incoming explosion we would be.
I gladly welcomed the distraction, throwing my head back and moaning.
“Liar.” So he knew, that I knew, he was full of shit, but my voice was a needy moan, rather than the spat insult I intended it to be.
Tendrils of shadows ran over every inch of me, little sprigs of tendrils extending from each one, feeling like more fingers. Every sensation made my thighs tremble.
One of those tendrils wrapped around my throat. I gasped in shock and the shadows took that as a chance to fill my mouth before I could protest.
I tried to voice my opinion, but it came out a strained gurgle around the shadows slithering down my throat.
My eyes went wide as I swore they went further down inside me than anything had a right to. It felt like he was all the way in my chest. He was going to break me.
You're already broken.
“My strong Dandelion.” He groaned with need that made every nerve quiver with anticipation. “I’m going to fuck you until you never think about leaving me again.”
My arms were bound behind me by more tendrils of shadow, pressing my chest forward into more wandering tendrils.
His overwhelming energy numbed the sharp pain radiating in my chest.
That terrified me more than anything he could do to my body.
Fingers intertwined with mine as if he was holding my hand, while he put me in a position I never would have let a man alive do. As if he was soothing the storm brewing inside me.
Another tendril slinked lower, filling me too full. A steady reminder that he was a monster that was meant to destroy me.
I moaned around the shadow inside my mouth, making him groan in a way that made my entire body clench. I couldn’t touch him, but at least I could still affect him. That evened out the playing field, if only a little.
He was corroding me. Every time I let him move closer, he became harder to push away. The defenses I spent countless years building, crumbled under his power.
And I was letting him.
Another tendril gently prodded against my ass, sliding in without waiting for even the hint of permission.
I was too full. There wasn’t any room for me anymore. He occupied all the space inside me, but I was helpless to fight against him.
And if I were being honest with myself, I didn’t want to.
It was time to face facts.
He’d already ruined me.
Anger wanted to take root, but he consumed everything I tried to feel.
“That’s it,” he panted as if he felt me surrendering to him.
I let the sensation erase all my thoughts, so he was all that was left. Every thrust inside me was too much, and too perfect at the same time. There was an extra edge knowing that with one wrong move he’d destroy my body. It made adrenaline skyrocket through my veins.
At least when he hurt me, it still felt good.
My moans were muffled around the shadow in my mouth, and it made all his thrusts speed up. Tears pricked my eyes as I tried to take in all the ways he was wringing pleasure out of me. Something swiped up my chin to my cheeks, like he was licking the tears away.
I didn’t belong to myself, and I found myself sinking deeper into it.
When my orgasm hit me, every nerve pulsed with ecstasy that made me see stars. His grunts took me that much higher. Fluid filled every orifice.
I swallowed without thinking and found he tasted like a blend of darkness and cum. The tendril around my throat tightened like he couldn’t handle me any more than I could him. For one split second, I thought he’d snap my neck.
Would he be able to stop himself in time?
Fuck it. If I died, it was a better death than the one I planned for myself.
Hopefully, my cousins forgive me.
The edges of my sight went blurry and my lungs screamed for oxygen, but I focused on the pleasure instead. I’d lived in pain. I’d die happy.
At the last minute, the tendril around my throat loosened just enough that I could comfortably breathe, and a kiss pressed against my throat, as if to apologize.
All the other shadows restraining me tightened, bordering on pain, but I loved how it made me feel desired. That stupid part of me hoped he left delicious bruises so everyone knew exactly how much of me he possessed.
I should’ve done something.
Anything.
My chest heaved as leftover waves went over me. I’d never come that hard in my life, and I knew a human could never compare to the delicious destruction of this monster.
When he left my mouth, I took in deep breaths as I recovered from the mind explosion still rocking my world.
My lips were wet with cum, but I couldn’t care about what I must look like. If anything I wanted more.
The fall of a witch.
His restraints around my limbs were the only things keeping me from collapsing. Every muscle was jelly. Even if I wrangled up the will to fight the countless restraints, I’d be useless.
His growl of satisfaction made my entire body tremble. Especially since he was still inside me and I could feel him vibrating through me.
“You are too perfect.” His breath rolled over me, making my trembling increase. “You’re going to make me burn this world down for you.”
Those words shouldn’t have settled in my heart as deeply as they did.
A knock pounded on the door with harsh authority. “It’s the police. Open the door.”
