Chapter 11

H oly shit . “Okay, Buttons,” I tease, trying to play it cool, but I’m freaked out by how turned on I am right now.

“Okay, little bunny,” he growls in response, his voice low and rough.

“So, Tuesday,” I manage to say, finishing my drink. I need to leave right now because if I don’t, I might actually jump into his lap. I want to give you everything you want. Yeah … no guy in his twenties has ever said that to me. Buttons is a full-on zaddy.

“I’ll call you with the details.”

Call. Not text. The fact that he said "call" hits different.

“Thank you for the drinks,” I say, standing up, my head spinning with everything that just happened.

“Can I walk you out?” he offers.

Oh my God … does he … are we going to kiss? But how? He’s still wearing the mask. He said he wouldn’t reveal himself until Tuesday. Maybe I’ll get another clue as to who he really is. I’m too curious now.

“Sure.”

The man in the bunny mask slides off his barstool and immediately takes my hand. I instinctively giggle.

“Too weird?”

“No. What a sight.”

He’s guiding us toward the back of the bar, not the front. We are going to kiss! This is not how I thought today was going to go.

“Is this where you murder me?” I joke.

His chuckle from behind the mask is so deep. He opens the door to the back lot and whispers, “I’m serious about giving you everything you want.”

What the fuck is about to happen?!

Outside, the air is cool, and before I can even think, his hand presses me firmly into the wall. My breath catches as I hit the brick exterior.

“Close your eyes.”

“No,” I tease, testing him, but then his hand covers my eyes, blocking out the world.

“I’ve had a crush on you for a while.”

Smiling, I hope this is Chad.

“What does my little bunny want?”

My lips part in response, and I feel his finger trace them, sending shivers through me.

“You want to kiss a stranger?”

“You’re not a stranger.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I have a pretty good idea.”

“But you could be wrong,” he whispers right into my ear.

“I hope I’m not wrong,” I say, my heart racing.

There’s some rustling—maybe him adjusting his mask—and I still can’t believe I’m standing behind High Five, blinded by a guy in a bunny mask. His other hand wraps around the back of my neck, pulling me forward. And then, I feel his lips on mine.

This is so hot.

His kiss is firm, demanding, and it sends a wave of heat through me. He’s completely in control, and I’m loving every second of it. He pulls back, and I’m left breathless.

“I’m looking forward to Tuesday.”

“Me too,” I breathe, still reeling.

“No peeking. I’m going to go back inside. See you Tuesday.”

“I might peek.”

“No peeking, baby,” he warns.

I chuckle.

“Good context, right?”

“Right,” I breathe, still blindfolded by his hand.

“No peeking until you hear the door shut.”

“Fine,” I agree, biting my lip.

“Say it. Say, ‘no peeking until the door shuts.’”

I bite my lip again, very turned on at how much control he’s taking. “No peeking until the door shuts.”
