Chapter 25 Gray #2

“When does she make it?” I had been with her all night, inside her for most of it. I had been fucking horny after that car ride. Quinn hadn’t left my side once, and I had left her fast asleep around five this morning.

“She made it back at home,” Ash said as he took a swig. “I took it with me,” he told me.

That made sense. “You okay with, you know, you two?”

“No?” He frowned. “Maybe?” I watched him take another gulp and grimace. “I think she hates me, which is why I have to drink this when you get food, actual food.”

Should I have told him he had two-thirds of what was on my plate in his drink? Probably not. “She takes her assignments seriously.”

“Ha.” Ash looked at my plate. “I never thought I’d see the day where I was envious of toast and a boiled egg. Man, I’d kill for a cooked breakfast.”

I nodded in agreement as I watched Jett come into the room.

“You can get all the cooked food you want in December,” Jett told him as he crossed the living room to the kitchen. “Where is everyone?”

“Practice,” I answered as I shelled my egg. “If Jamie was here, he would have poached my egg,” I lamented as I scooped up some of the avocado.

“If Jamie were here, he would have made pancakes.” Ash tipped his head back and drained his smoothie. “Well, that was disgusting.”

Jett grinned as he reached for the cereal.

“You’re not supposed to eat that,” I warned him.

“Well, I can’t cook. And Jamie is the only one who can make the protein pancakes, even if they are revolting and need butter and syrup. It’s either this or a breakfast wrap. Which would Quinn rather I have?”

“Cereal,” Ash and I said at the same time.

“Exactly.” Jett poured too much milk in his bowl. “And if you both agree, how can all three of us be wrong?”

I shared an amused look with my cousin, who lasted a nanosecond before he was pulling the cereal box toward him, while I ate my breakfast and drank my coffee.

“It’s a wonder she lets us have caffeine,” Ash mumbled around his spoon as he refilled his mug.

“She’s ambitious, not suicidal,” Jett snorted as he held his mug out for more.

“Speaking of . . .” I decided to tease Jett. “That was some dodgy driving yesterday.”

Jett looked at me with a Cheshire cat grin. “Was it? Didn’t hear anyone complaining.”

“What happened?” Ash asked curiously as he looked between us.

“Someone got some light hand relief when they were driving,” I told him as I bit into my breakfast.

Ash’s eyes widened before he grinned. “Ava gave you a hand job? When you were driving?” He turned to look at me. “With you and Queeny in the back?”

“I don’t think it was her hand that caught it,” I said gleefully as my brother’s smile vanished, and he glared at me.

“Fuck off,” Ash exclaimed incredulously. “No way!”

“You’re a dick,” Jett told me as he finished his breakfast. “What are you? Twelve?”

“I can’t believe little Ava would be so bold,” Ash said as he shook his head in wonder. “I almost want to rib her for it, but she’d more than likely cut my balls off.”

I saw my brother beam with pride, and I took another swig of coffee.

However, even though Ash and I had been fine, as Ash teased my brother more and Jett had to remain silent on what I had been doing — because he was a better brother than I was — I felt Ash and I slowly ease back into our normal relationship.

Later, as I was getting ready for class, I didn’t appreciate the punch my brother delivered to my kidneys in revenge.

“You asshole,” he hissed at me as he looked over his shoulder to ensure he had closed the door. “Low fucking blow, Gray.”

“You think?” I groaned as I straightened. “What the fuck?”

“You spoke about Ava like she was some cheap whore,” Jett whispered furiously.

“No, I didn’t. She isn’t, and Ash knows that,” I corrected him crossly. “And he also knows had it been someone other than Ava, she’d have been bent over the steering wheel.”

“You’re unbelievable.”

“Thanks, bro.” I grinned at him.

When his fist raised to punch me again, I dodged it. “Ava and me in the car isn’t what you and Ash should be bonding over.”

“Ugh, don’t be a pussy. It worked, okay? He won’t say anything, and neither will she.”

He glared at me for several more moments before he shouldered past me and headed into my bathroom. He came back out with a box of condoms.

“You better use these.”

“I love you, bro, but guys aren’t really my thing, neither is incest.”

“With Quinn, you fucking ass.”

My smile faded as I regarded him steadily. “You think I don’t know the consequences?”

Jett scratched his nose as his feet shifted. “I know, I just don’t want her to go through something like this again.”

“She won’t,” I told him firmly. “And if she does, if we do, I’ll be there every step of the way.”

Finally, Jett nodded and tossed the box onto the bed, and opened the bedroom door as he turned back to face me. “Just wrap it up, okay? I don’t want to be an uncle at twenty.” I started to laugh, but it died in my throat as I saw her standing there.

“Seriously?” Quinn’s face was pale as she stood there.

“Queeny,” Jett gasped as she looked between the two of us before she took a step backward.

“Fuck you, Jett.” Dark chocolate eyes met mine, brimming with accusation. “Fuck you too.”

I leaped forward to chase her as she ran down the stairs.

“Quinn!” I yelled as my brother hauled me back. “What?” I snarled at him.

“Shoes.” He pointed at my bare feet, and cursing, I pushed past him to grab my sneakers before I ran after her.
