Chapter 46

I t wasn’t until she felt him release her wrists that she came back to Earth.

Blinking, she gazed up at him, her heart racing, her body coated in sweat.

“There’s my sweet girl.” He kissed her gently. “You look so beautiful when you come. I love hearing your screams of pleasure. Now, get ready to scream again.”

He turned her over and tugged her back until she was kneeling at the edge of the bed. The beads moved in her ass, making her groan again. It was too much.

Regent grasped hold of the base of the anal beads and started pulling them slowly out of her.

The movement in her ass had her moaning. How was it possible that she could still feel the need to come?

It had to be him.

He was some kind of sex sorcerer.

“Please. Please.”

Regent slid them free and then grasped hold of her hips.

And then he was inside her, stealing her breath, her ability to think.

All she wanted was for him to fuck her harder, faster.

Deeper.

She groaned as he increased his pace. God, she was so close to the edge again. Reaching around her, he flicked her clit.

This wasn’t happening again. No. Nope.

Jilly knew she didn’t have the energy for this. She couldn’t do it. He’d just have to take his own pleasure from her poor, exhausted body.

“Come for me, baby.”

And just like that, her body tightened. As though getting ready to give him what he wanted.

“I can’t!” she cried.

“You can and you will. Do as you’re told.” He drew his hand away and slapped her ass several times. But the slight sting of pain only increased her need for him.

And when he moved to flick her clit again, she knew she was going to do it. She was going to come again.

“Come, baby. Do as you’re told.”

Jilly crashed over the edge.

She was lost. She was floating. Completely blissed out.

She heard him shout as he pushed deep inside her.

“Take it all, baby. Take all of me. Fuck! I need to come inside you. To brand you as mine. To have you round with my baby. Then everyone will know who you belong to.”

She was pretty sure that they did already.

“Mine,” he yelled as he came. “Fuck!”

Then he moved away from her, collapsing onto his back. Jilly fought to catch her breath. She wanted to move against him, to cuddle him close. But she was completely done in.

“Come here, baby.” He rolled onto his side, before reaching down to cup her mound. The warmth of his hand felt so good. “Make sure you keep all of me inside you. Don’t lose a drop.”

Hmm. She was pretty certain that was impossible. But it sure was sexy to hear him say it.

“My beautiful girl. You did so well. Are you feeling all right?”

She eyed him. “I’m pretty sure you killed me.”

He kissed her lightly. “Death by pleasure?”

“Yes,” she moaned as he slid two fingers deep into her pussy.

“Not too sore?”

“No,” she whispered.

“You were such a good girl for me. You came so hard. I love listening to the noises you make. So sweet. So delicious.” He kissed her again as his fingers moved slowly in and out of her. “Letting me come inside you. Letting me own you.”

Her breathing quickened.

“You know you’re mine, don’t you?”

“Yes. Just like you’re mine.”

He slid his fingers from her and she whimpered, wanting him back.

“I’m yours. Forever.”

“You won’t ever leave me?” she whispered.

“Never, baby. I’ll never leave you.” He gave her another kiss. “Except to go and get a cloth to clean you up. Stay here.”

Jilly pouted as he slid off the bed. “What if I don’t want you to clean me up? What if I want to go to sleep like this?”

Hunger and satisfaction filled his face. “Yeah? You want to sleep like this?”

“Uh-huh.”

“That’s my precious girl.” He moved them both under the covers with him snuggled up against her back, his hand moving down to rest over her mound.

“My girl.”

Jilly smiled. That was all she’d ever wanted to be.

Jilly walked into the dining room the following morning, feeling lighter. She was going to be all right.

With time.

To her surprise, Victor was there eating breakfast with Regent.

“Good morning, Victor,” she said with a forced smile. She was wearing another black dress. This one had puffy sleeves and a full skirt. There were little flowers embroidered on the sleeves. This one was cuter, but still not her. And if she was being truthful, the sleeves kind of itched.

“Morning,” Victor replied.

She resisted the urge to run to Regent and hug him good morning. She was slowly learning the rules.

Instead, she picked up her plate and went to walk around Regent to get some food. But he held out his arm to stop her.

He pointed at her chair and she frowned slightly. Couldn’t she get some food? She hadn’t eaten much yesterday and was starving.

But then he took her plate and stood. “Sit. I’ll get your food.”

A flood of happiness hit her.

Regent might not tell her that he loved her. But he took care of her. He showed her how much he cared for her.

After pulling back her chair for her, he moved to fill up her plate. When Regent placed it back in front of her, it was overflowing.

“Thank you. That’s rather a lot of food.”

Victor snorted.

What did that mean? She gave him a startled look.

“You barely ate yesterday,” Regent grumbled. “I want to see you eat most of that.”

Right. Well. She didn’t think she could eat quite this much. But he was staring at her intently, clearly unwilling to eat until she did. So she dug in.

Victor and Regent spoke occasionally. She put her fork down to take a sip of coffee, ignoring Regent’s sharp look.

“Um, Santé wants me to come in and get the money I’m owed,” she said.

Both men stared at her and she gulped. But she needed that money. She wanted to order some more clothes, except she didn’t want to always use the credit card Regent had given her.

“And HR for the library still wants to see me even though I resigned.” Thankfully, she still had sick days owing so she could take them instead of giving notice.

“Tell HR if they want to talk to you they can do it over the phone,” Regent said.

She nodded. Yeah, she’d rather not go in and talk to them.

“And tell Santé to keep his money,” Regent added.

“But I want the money,” she said.

“You don’t need it.” Regent gave her a firm look.

“I earned it.”

“If you’re going to get it, do it soon. Before the place goes up in flames,” Victor said.

Huh?

“Victor!” Regent snapped.

“What? You mean Jilly doesn’t know your plan to raze the club to the ground because some of the clients there and the staff saw her breasts?”

“Victor,” Regent said in a deathly cold voice. Even though it was clear he was furious, he didn’t yell.

But now her appetite was gone again. “Regent! You don’t plan to do that, do you?”

“Of course I do.”

“That . . . that’s ridiculous!” she cried. “You can’t do that!”

“I can and I will.”

“Well, I won’t let you!”

He narrowed his gaze at her. But she managed to hold her ground.

He won’t hurt you.

“You aren’t doing it. It was my choice to dance there.”

“They saw your breasts!” he snapped.

“So? You know, this is very hypocritical of you considering you got a lap dance from one of the dancers!”

“I did not. What are you talking about?” he asked.

“I saw you! When I was there as Nyx! Seven took you out back to where the private dances are.”

Regent ran his hand over his face. “I forgot about that.”

“Kimmy,” Victor muttered.

“You got a lap dance from Kimmy?” She didn’t have any right to feel betrayed. But she couldn’t stop herself from feeling that way.

“No, I was questioning Kimmy.”

She gave him a startled look. “What?”

“I paid for a lap dance, but that was so I could get a few minutes with her. I never let her near me.”

Relief flooded her. But it still didn’t make sense. “What were you questioning her about?”

Regent looked at Victor for a moment. “About her boyfriend.”

“Trip?”

Both men tensed and she glanced between them. “What is it?”

“Trip?” Regent asked.

“Uh-huh. That’s his name. I met him the other night.”

“The other night? When?”

“Um, well, not last weekend, but the weekend before, I guess. They were using my room to hook up. And then, no, wait, I did see him last weekend. He was in the alley when I came out of the club. I was going home. He offered to walk me to the car.”

“Did he ask you where you live? Touch you? Hurt you?” Regent asked.

“No. Nothing like that. Why?” she asked, bewildered.

“Describe him,” Victor ordered.

“I don’t know. Pale. Thin. Dark red hair. I can’t remember much else. Why?” They were scaring her.

“Could be him,” Victor said.

“I was questioning Kimmy about a guy called Patrick McMahon. Remember how I told you about Alice attempting to kill me?”

She nodded, ignoring the look of surprise that Victor sent his brother.

“Well, she was working for him. I ran him out of the city, destroyed everything he had. But he came back a while ago. He was seen at Sexy Sins because he liked a dancer there. And he was working with Carlos, Santé’s uncle.”

“From what the other girls have said, Carlos wasn’t a nice guy.”

“He wasn’t,” Victor said. “Patrick was trying to enlist help to take out Regent, but he wasn’t successful.”

“However, we still haven’t found him,” Regent said. “I wanted to talk to Kimmy to see if she’d seen or heard from him. She said no, but she must have been lying.”

“Do you think Santé knows he’s been at the club?” Victor asked.

“It’s possible. More reason to burn the place to the ground.”

“No! You can’t do that. Think of everyone that works there.”

He stared at her stubbornly.

“I have friends who work there.”

“Like who?” he asked.

“Well, um, there was one bouncer who was nice to me.”

“And who was that?” he drawled dangerously.

Crap.

“His name is Keegan.” She raised her chin. “He’s a nice guy and he needs that job.”

“Don’t worry about Keegan. He has another job.”

“He does?”

He grunted. “He works for me. Just how nice was he, though?”

“Regent! You cannot be jealous because Keegan looked out for me. Wait, he works for you? So, he was at the club . . .”

“Undercover. Yes. I was actually going to ask him you . . . about Nyx, I mean. But I didn’t end up needing to.”

Holy. Heck.

Keegan was a spy?

“So there is no reason I can’t destroy the club.”

“I won’t allow it, Regent.”

Regent leaned forward. “It will happen.”

“Look, it’s possible Santé didn’t know about Trip or Patrick. He and Kimmy were in my private dressing room. I never saw him any other time, other than in the alley. Please don’t do this. I don’t like it.”

She let her lip wobble.

He glared, then sighed. “I can’t believe I’m doing this. You will not always get your way.”

She rarely got her way.

“I think I better leave.” Victor got up, ignoring Regent’s glare. He almost looked a bit relieved.

Perhaps he hadn’t wanted to blow up the club or set it on fire or whatever they had planned.

“I’ll call off burning the place,” Victor said. “And bring in Kimmy.”

She didn’t like the idea of Kimmy being questioned. But this Patrick sounded like bad news.

“I’ll want to chat with Santé too. Find out if we have any recent photos of Patrick to show Jilly.”

Victor nodded. “Oh, and that other scumbag you wanted is in custody. He’ll be here and ready by tomorrow.”

Who?

Actually she was probably better off not knowing.

Regent pushed his chair back. Then he crooked a finger at her, before pointing at the floor in front of him.

Uh-oh.

Time to pay the piper.

“Are you mad?” she asked as she rose and stood between his spread legs.

“Why would I be mad, sweet girl?”

“Because, I, um . . . because I won’t let you burn the club down?”

“I’m not mad.” He grasped hold of her hips. His fingers squeezed her ass cheeks which were still a bit tender from last night.

“It’s crazy to burn a whole building down just because I chose to do something you don’t agree with. Especially when we weren’t even seeing each other.”

“Oh, so you’re saying I should punish you instead?”

Well, that wasn’t what she was saying exactly, but if it made him feel better . . .

She was a giver, after all.

“I guess.”

He grunted. “No, I won’t do that either. I know I’m turning my anger to the wrong places. But I fucking hate that you had to do that.”

Suddenly, he lifted her onto his lap and held her tightly. She clasped her arms around his neck and breathed out a sigh of relief.

Everything was going to be fine.

And for once, she started to believe it.
