31. Chapter Thirty-one

Chapter thirty-one

B rennan

The next Thursday, I wasn’t sure if Ryder would go meet the guys at the bar or not.

He hadn’t gone last week, and we’d spent every night together.

We hadn’t talked about it, but I didn’t want him to stop seeing his friends just because I was here.

I wondered if I should bring it up or wait to see if he did when I got a text from Travis.

Travis: It’s Thursday. You know what that means.

Me: Daddy time?

Travis: Yep. Want to go out?

Me: Sure, where?

Travis: We could go shopping or to a movie or we could go dancing .

Me: Oh , I haven’t been dancing in ages , lets go .

Travis: You could ask Keegan if he wants to go.

Me: I should. He always invites me to do stuff with his friends.

I smiled to myself as I sent Keegan a text to see if he wanted to go with us. Travis was becoming a good friend, but I missed hanging out with Keegan. It didn’t take long for Keegan to reply.

Keegan: Oh , I ’ m totally in. Did you leave any of your shorts here? I don’t have anything to wear to a gay club.

Me: Check the drawers. I’m sure something ’ s still there .

Keegan: When are you going to get the rest of your stuff?

Me: You trying to get rid of me?

Keegan: Nope , just making sure you aren’t hedging your bets.

Me: Nope , I ’ m all in .

Keegan: Good. LOL. Pick me up at seven?

Me: Yep. I’ll see you then.

Ryder

I walked into Big O’s and went straight back to where the guys sat. I motioned for Josh to get me a beer and took a seat.

“Hey, man,” Lucas said. “I didn’t expect to see you here tonight.”

“Honestly, I didn’t think I would be, but Brennan insisted I go out. I think his exact words were, go play with your Daddy friends ,” I said, laughing.

“I like him,” Cooper said. “He’s good for you.”

“Yeah. He and Travis are going somewhere tonight,” Max said.

“That’s what Brennan said.”

“So it’s going well?” Owen asked.

“It is.” We sat around for a bit, talking about work and the possibility of a future motorcycle trip. Cooper wanted us to wait until summer was over so he could take off and go. I thought a fall trip east through the leaves would be fun.

“Do you think the boys would want to go?” Max asked me.

“I don’t see why not. Brennan likes to ride. He did make a comment about not wanting to go camping with his friend, though, because sleeping on the ground didn’t sound like fun to him.”

“I’m with Brennan. I’m getting too damn old to sleep on the ground. I say we get rooms this time instead of camping.”

“There are a couple of the state parks that have yurts. We could stay there,” Lucas said. We tossed around ideas for where we could stay on our trip for a while until the door opened and Brennan, Travis, and Keegan walked in.

“Fuck,” Cooper said. “What are your boys up to tonight?” All three of them were dressed to go dancing, and they looked stunning.

I watched as they headed back to where we sat, and it took everything in me not to grab Brennan up, put him on the back of my motorcycle, and carry his hot little ass home.

I turned on my stool to face him, and he sidled up between my legs, giving me a kiss.

I wasn’t sure what had gotten into my normally shy Angel, but I wasn’t complaining.

I slid my hand up into his hair and tightened my fingers just enough for him to feel the tug but not enough to hurt.

I held him in place as I ravished his mouth with mine.

When I pulled back, his pupils were blown, and he looked a little dazed.

“So you boys are going dancing then?” I said.

“Yeah, we just stopped by to say hello and steal a couple of kisses,” Travis said, going up on his toes to kiss Max.

“Y’all be careful, and call me if you need anything,” I insisted. Then I pulled out my wallet and took out some cash. “Take this, just in case you need it.”

“I have money,” he said.

“I know you do. But I want you to take this. Use it to buy whatever you need…dinner, drinks, or anything. Or hold on to it and give it back later, but I’ll feel better knowing you have it if you need it.”

“Okay.”

“Remember what I told you about trusting your instincts.” He nodded yes, and I kissed his forehead. “You call me anytime.”

He leaned close enough so he could talk without anyone else hearing him.

“Thank you, Daddy.” I pressed a kiss to his cheek, letting him know how much I loved hearing him call me Daddy.

I was surprised he said anything, even that quietly in front of Keegan, but when I glanced his way to see if he heard what Brennan said, I was pretty sure he hadn’t.

He was too busy watching Owen to pay any attention to us.

Looked like the straight boy had a bit of a crush on Owen.

He wouldn’t be the first straight guy in the bar to let Owen make him wonder.

“Y’all better get going if you’re going to have time to eat before you go to the club. That’s the plan, right? Food before alcohol?” Max said, glaring at Travis.

“Yes, I promise, we’ll stop for food first.”

I was guessing there was a story behind that, but I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know where they were going to go for food dressed the way they were, but Travis seemed to have a plan. I gave Brennan another quick kiss, and they left.

Brennan

We stopped to eat at a place right next to the club. Travis said they were used to people coming in from next door to eat so our clothing wouldn’t stand out.

“So, how’s the puppy doing?” Travis asked.

“He’s adorable. It took a few nights for him to sleep, but we bought him this stuffed toy that has a heartbeat and it’s supposed to make them feel less alone.”

“Good, he’s such a tiny little thing,” Keegan said.

“I need to run to the bathroom,” Travis said. “Will you order me a mushroom and swiss burger and some sweet potato fries if she comes back for our order before I get back.”

“Sure thing.”

As soon as he was gone, Keegan put down his menu and stared at me. “What?”

“You called him Daddy. I heard you.”

I stared at him for a minute, debating what to say. Keegan was a good friend, but I knew the whole Daddy-thing might be a bit much for a straight guy to understand. But then I figured there was no point in trying to hide it. Keegan was too much a part of my life for him not to figure it out.

“I did.” I grabbed my drink and busied myself with the straw and then took a drink so I would have an excuse not to look at him.

“It was kind of hot.”

I choked on my drink. “You can’t say shit like that while I’m taking a drink.”

“What? It was. He’s this bigger, stronger, older guy, and he looks at you like you’re the most important thing in the world.

Then he got all take this money and call me if you need me , which was nice.

But then, when you leaned in and said Thank You , Daddy , his eyes closed for a second, and it was like he forgot to breathe. It was hot. That’s all I’m saying.”

“I didn’t think you were paying attention to us. I thought you were too distracted by Owen.”

“I already told you I thought Owen was hot. If I played for your team, he’d totally be my type.”

“So you’ve said. You know he’s a Daddy, too.”

“Really? Is that what that is? The Thursday Night Daddy’s Club?”

“No,” I said, laughing.

“What’s so funny? What did I miss?” Travis asked, taking his seat.

“I asked if the guys at the bar were the Thursday Night Daddy’s Club,” Keegan said with a shrug.

Travis chuckled. “That’s a good name for them. Why? Are you interested? Three of them are still single.”

“Nope, I’m a boob man myself. But like I was telling Bren here, I can see the appeal.”

We ordered our food and then talked while we waited for it to arrive.

Keegan told us about his job, and I told cute puppy stories.

Once the food arrived, Travis took a picture of his and then sent it off in a text message.

“I had to show him my food so he would see that I really was eating. He doesn’t like it when I drink on an empty stomach. ”

A couple of minutes later, his phone pinged, and he picked it up to look at it. He got the sweetest look on his face when he read it.

“What did he say?” I asked, and he turned his phone around to show us.

There was Travis’s text which said, See , food as promised . Then the picture of the burger. Next was Max’s reply, Good boy. Don’t drink too much , and I ’ ll have a reward waiting for you when you get home .

Keegan shoulder-bumped me. “See, hot.”
