Chapter 34
Trikk
Two grueling days have passed since Jax told us he's going to work on coordinating the takedowns of our fathers.
I'm nervous. I can fight, but my natural inclination is to let someone else do the honors. This time though, I won’t have a choice. The only one to end my father is me.
The clock ticks loudly in my mind. I pace the halls in thought. My phone buzzes, and I glance at it. It's Jax, calling us all to the computer room.
I take off in that direction, running into some of the others on the way. We're silent as we go inside, knowing how serious this is.
Jax is standing next to Harris and Purge, who are seated at computers. Thor and Bill are there also.
Jax starts. “Okay, we have eyes on each of your homes. Your fathers are all there with your mothers, from what we can tell. What I need from The Six now is confirmation that it’s your parents.”
“Wait. How did you get eyes inside?” a confused Ghost asks.
“Bro. We're the best hackers ever. We simply hacked their security systems,” Thor brags.
Jax presses his lips together, gesturing to Harris. “Pull up the feeds.”
Harris nods, pulling up a screen of Synn’s house.
“This is live,” Jax explains. “We can see inside and outside. Synn, if you will?”
Synn steps up, and Harris clicks the camera to show the foyer and living room. His parents are sitting in there in serious discussion.
Synn nods again. “That’s my parents.”
The rest of us take our turns, all identifying our parents. All our mothers are accounted for, which tickles my red flags.
“How did you manage to hack into all the security our parents have inside, anyway?” an impressed Frost asks.
“I’m just that good,” Bill says, puffing his chest out.
“Whatever, man. All of us are that good,” Thor adds.
“Shut up, Thor. Don't steal my thunder,” Bill quips.
“Fuck you, BILL,” Thor deadpans, cracking us all up.
We all break out talking, and express concerns about the so-called united front.
“What the hell are they planning?” Frost asks, his finger tapping his lip in thought.
“I don’t know, brother, but this is bad,” Synn answers.
Jax interrupts. “Okay, guys. The plan is going to be separately attacking each house at the exact same time to avoid any leaks. Six houses, six attacks. Each one of you will be with some of my best men. There will be security all around the perimeter as well, so you’ll always have someone near you.
Anyone who is not in The Six will not be coming. ”
Arguments break out among Sam, Bambi, Valley, and even Bryan.
Bryan goes to speak, but Jax addresses him directly then. “Bryan, you’ll be on site with Synn’s team, but will stay in the vehicle. We'll need you to monitor the screens of all six houses, and alert them to any movement.”
“I can do that,” Bryan says.
“What is the best time of day to ensure they will all be home?” Jax asks next.
“The middle of the night, I think,” I say first. “My dad is an early riser and is usually in bed by ten or eleven.”
The others murmur that theirs are the same, usually.
“Two or three in the morning will probably be best,” Jax says. “Thoughts?”
“Sounds like a plan,” Synn answers.
“Prepare to be ready tonight.” Jax explains to us then who each of us will be with. I'm with some guys I don’t know.
My mind clouds, and memories threaten to assault me. There's something huge I’ve never shared with my brothers, but now is the time to tell them. The trouble is, I’m freaked the hell out to say it out loud.
“You okay?” Ghost whispers to me, and I slowly shake my head. I nod towards the door and slip out to wait for the others.
I feel vulnerable as hell now that the guys are with me, and it’s embarrassing.
It's just us six, plus Bambi, who’s cuddled into my side. I want her to know this too.
“I never told you guys something about my parents,” I begin. Taking a deep breath, I go into detail. “In order to prepare me for the mafia women, my dad had my mom... train me. But both of them ended up abusing me. Starting when I was just nine.”
My hands shake, and my body is trembling. Bambi curses, and the guys shout in anger.
Ghost pulls up my chin to look me in the eye. “Are you saying they did sexual things with you?”
To my horror, I start to cry. “Yeah. They made me do things to them both, and... and...” I choke on the words, going silent. I can’t say anything else.
Ghost flips the fuck out. His beast is roaring, making me flinch.
Bambi manages to get their attention. “Guys, calm down. Trikk needs us now, okay?”
Next thing I know, I'm swept up in a group hug, and I’m shocked that all of us are crying. Even Synn and Frost.
“Kill them both, brother,” Synn growls.
“I- I can’t...” I stutter.
“You can. And will,” Frost adds.
“You’ve got this,” my girl encourages.
Maybe… I can do this.
My parents are both sick bastards. They’ve traumatized me my entire life. I can finally prove I'm as ruthless and deadly as my brothers.
It's time.
I will do this.
Frost
I'm restless and antsy, ready to get this shit over with. I'm salivating at the thought of wrapping my hands around my father’s throat. I don’t know about my mother, though.
Will she want to come with me, or stay with him? Her decision will mean her life, whichever she chooses. I suspect the other five will have a similar thought.
I'm standing outside the bedrooms in the hall, pacing and muttering to myself. My brothers join me after a few minutes.
“I’m so ready for this,” Razor says, clapping his hands together in anticipation.
“I feel you, brother. I want to pull my father’s insides out through his asshole,” Ghost says.
“Is that even possible, bro?” Trikk asks.
“I don’t know, but it will be fun to find out.” Ghost grins maniacally, making me shiver. This is when Ghost is at his most dangerous. He is the most vicious and sadistic of us all.
“What are we doing about our mothers?” Synn asks next, his arms folded.
“I’m giving mine an option to stay or go. If she picks stay, she’s dead too,” I admit.
Synn grunts. “Good idea. It's wise if we all follow that plan.”
As we talk softly, Killer comes out of her room, Sam trailing behind her. She comes to each of us, kissing us hard and hugging us.
She steps back, glancing from one to another. “I love each of you more than you could possibly fathom. I hate not being able to be there, but I’ll be watching and listening from the feeds. Synn, get a good one in from me, will you?”
Synn laughs. “Oh, I plan to, Pazessca. He will die with your name in his ears.”
Sam speaks up. “Be careful, please. I want my new friends and brother to be safe.”
That tugs at my heart a bit. The guy has really grown on each of us.
Purge walks over and hugs Sam hard, whispering something to him. Sam nods firmly and goes over to Killer, holding hands with her.
Valley and Bryan come out next. The poor girl’s face is white as a sheet. She's clearly scared.
“It will be okay, Valley. Synn and the ZYGOS guys will keep Bryan safe,” I tell her.
“Please. Bryan is my everything, my soulmate. Please bring him back to me,” Valley says so softly, I can barely hear her.
Killer talks to her soothingly, and Valley clings to Bryan. I can’t bear the thought of them being torn apart again.
Synn makes sure he voices that he feels the same.
“I’ve got his back, Valley,” Synn tells her.
Jax walks up on us.
Fuck, it must be time.
“Okay, guys. It's time to go. Remember everything I said.
Stay with the men on your team at all times.
Do not take stupid chances. If you have a clear shot to take them out, do it.
Don't be tempted to draw it out via torture.” Jax reaches into a bag in his hand.
He pulls out six guns, one for each of us.
Jax levels a stare at Trikk. “Are you sure you’re comfortable handling that? I gave you an easy one to reload. Pull out the clip and push in a new one.”
“Yeah, bro. I've practiced in the range the past two days. I'm good,” Trikk answers.
“Take the shot when you get it, okay? Aim for the head, as far away as possible.”
“I got it, bro. No worries.” Trikk is trembling a bit, but stands strong. I'm proud of him.
“I’ve got a blade too,” Ghost tosses in.
“So do we,” Synn and Razor say.
Purge chimes in with, “Same.”
“Listen, boys: Only reach for the blades if you have no other option. Understand?” Jax frowns at them.
“Whatever,” Ghost mutters, but agrees.
Killer kisses us once more, and Valley lays one on Bryan. The girls part ways with us, heading to the computer room to watch. Harris is in there along with Thor and Bill.
We turn as one, filing out of the hall, and over to the garage.
I'm ready.
Do or die.
Synn
Thoughts tumble through my mind, but I shush them. I need to be clear-headed and calm to pull this off. Ideally, we can just kill them in their sleep—one to the head each.
Our mothers are the question mark in the equation. I have to at least give her a chance to choose.
I'm in a blacked-out SUV with Maverick and Trav. We drive in silence. There's no point in going over the plan, we’ve regurgitated it on repeat ad nauseum.
We get to my parents' neighborhood, and the car slows. Maverick kills the lights, then pulls over to a dark area in the nearby park to cloak the vehicle.
We're close enough to walk; it’s only a couple of blocks over. Trav stays with the car and Maverick goes with me.
We all have comms in our ears. We can communicate with each other, the guys, and Jax, as well. We have strict instructions not to speak unless necessary for stealth.
ZYGOS guys swarm the mansion. Some on the roof, others hidden in the trees. Maverick taps his comm, listens, then nods. He points to the cameras, then makes a slicing motion across his throat, meaning the cams on my parents’ side are looped and ready.
We were all told the doors will be open once we get to them.
My piece is in my hand with the safety off. I hold it in front of me, cop style. We silently enter the house and stop to listen.
It's dead quiet. Hopefully the bastards are fast asleep.
