Emmie I played high school basketball, fell in love, started a business, had my son, and got divorced – all under the watchful eyes of the small town locals.

My son Rowan and I are making the most of it now. We have supportive family members and great friends. I also have great clients in my work at the hair salon. Then I meet Creed.

He’s tall, gorgeous, and grumpy. But I’m sure under all that grumpiness, there’s a man worth knowing. Can I make that grinch mine?

Creed I still can’t believe the unexpected turn my life has taken. Divorced, forced to leave my hometown, and raising two boys on my own. This is not how I expected my life to go.

I’ve sworn off women until the boys are out of school. Raising them will be hard enough without any distractions. Besides, I don’t need my heart broken again.

But then Emmie and her chipper ways appear. She’s kind and can’t be bought off with my grinch-like ways or smirks.

Before long, I find myself wondering if love might be in the cards for me again after all. Can I get past my demons and am I really willing to wait a decade to give love another chance?
