Devin #3

“Yeah, babe. I’m good. She hurt you in ways that could not be atoned for. There isn’t a solitary cell in my body that aches for her.” He kissed her slow and gentle.

God, that tongue ring was going to be her undoing. It was the most controlled their lips had ever been with each other. It was telling, he was telling. Letting her know his words were true. When he pulled away, her lips blindly chased his.

“Thank you for caring about how I might be feeling. Only one other woman in my life has ever cared about how my own actions impact me, and she raised me.”

She watched his mood shift, and he dropped his forehead to hers.

“Shit. I walked right past my aunt and didn’t even check on her. I really should go talk to her.”

“Wait.” She wrapped her arms around him tighter to stop his retreat.

“She made me promise when we had tea, that when you got home, I’d keep you away until you had a proper sleep, a hearty meal, and…

” She trailed off. Even after all they’d done, she couldn’t help the blush that was creeping over pretty much her entire body.

His smile turned wicked. “What? Finish, what did she say?” By the gleam in his soulful brown eyes, he had an idea. He just wanted her to say it.

“Acrobatic and enthusiastic lovemaking.”

Jasper’s laugh was a balm to her soul. He didn’t share his genuine amusement often. Usually, he’d do a reserved, polite laugh, but when he gifted one of the real deals, it was borderline orgasmic.

It made her heart happy. Shit, he made her heart happy. As his laughter died, he asked, “Is she really okay though?” His love and concern for his aunt was obvious.

“Yes, she is really okay.”

His aunt had given her a rundown of what went down and her heart went out to her.

The woman seemed to compartmentalize really well.

“She went so far as to threaten me if I allowed—her word, not mine—if I allowed you to leave your bed to speak to her. So please, don’t let her put a curse on me because I wholeheartedly believe she can. ”

Jasper reached behind him and turned off the water. “Well then.” He smacked her wet ass as he ushered her from the shower. “You better get in there and limber up or I might just tattle on you.”

“Gasp,” she said dramatically as she spun around, clutching her towel. “Jasper Sasquatch Bigfoot Cryptid Stanton, you wouldn’t.”

He snatched the towel away. “Oh, but Devin Sweetness Pudding Cup The Best Ol’ Lady In The World Farrell, I totally would.”

Scooping her up, he power walked them to the bed and they tumbled onto it in a heap of limbs and laughter.

“Speaking of that.” She slapped his chest. “I’m so pissed, how is it you never told me about the whole ol’ lady thing but everyone and their brother knows?”

“I did tell you,” he stated simply and kissed her neck and chest lazily.

“No, you didn’t. I think I would remember it if you claimed me.”

“You do remember, babe, because it’s hard to forget. You were naked in a hotel with my dick buried deep inside you.” Kiss, kiss, kiss.

“I remember that part, very well in fact, but not the.” She pitched her voice low. “Me biker, you ol’ lady part.”

He levered up and just looked at her as if she’d grown an extra head.

“Devin, you’re family to the club. Just the act of me kissing you was claiming you. Even if you could’ve weaseled out of that, the second we got into that room and pulled your shirt off, it was a done deal.”

A terrifying thought hit her, what if he’d just gotten carried away and was now stuck because of their neanderthal rules?

“Jasper. You don’t have to abide by that. I’ll talk to Lucas and Zombie. We don’t—” He kissed her quiet.

“Shut that pretty mouth of yours. I knew what it meant. I wanted it to mean that.”

She raised an eyebrow at him, a bit of her insecurities creeping in.

“Don’t believe me? Tomorrow, ask your brother. I claimed you when we were still at the bar, before we’d even kissed.”

To say she was stunned would be a massive understatement. They’d said he claimed her before Nebraska, but she thought it was after they’d slept together. Her jaw was hanging open.

With a smile on his face, he used a single finger to lift her chin and close her mouth.

“Sweetness, I see I’m gonna have to show you every day that you’re mine, not by accident or circumstances, but because I chose you.”

“Each other,” she whispered as she cupped his scruffy cheek.

“Huh?”

“Each other. We chose each other. I chose you too, Jasper.”

His entire face changed with those words.

“I love you, Devin. Being my ol’ lady isn’t enough. As soon as possible, you’re getting on the back of my fucking bike and we’re going to Vegas, baby.”

He was practically shouting by the end and his mood was contagious.

“I love you too, Jasper. Thanks for tracking me down in that hotel. I thought I needed to do it alone, but what I really needed was you. What I want is you.”

They snuggled up in the bed, too tired for acrobatic and enthusiastic anything.

He was rubbing the inside of her thigh and mumbling what sounded like numbers as they were drifting off.

“What are you saying?” she asked with a yawn.

“Just counting my blessings, sweetness,” he uttered sleepily.
