Chapter 21

Chapter Twenty-One

Angel

The entire way to the address Styxx gave us, I felt like my world was coming to an end. Losing Stella would be like losing my soul and in turn my life. The thought alone makes it difficult to breathe. She consumes my very being, and I’ll be damned if I’ll let her go.

Pulling into the deserted parking area—beside one other car—I park the cargo van. With Stella pregnant, I know I can’t put her on the back of my bike. But more than that, who the fuck knows what condition I’ll find her in . . . if she’s here.

I hop out from behind the wheel and start toward the doors, staring up the weatherworn, brush-covered building. It’s the vision of one of those uncovered mystery shows Stella would have me watch with her.

“Bastard would bring her to a place like this,” Reaper mutters, coming up next to me.

“Place better not be haunted,” Tombstone adds.

“Don’t worry. After this bullshit, I’m burning it to the fuckin’ ground,” Hellhound growls.

“You’ll have to beat me to it,” I state, giving him a glance.

“I’m giving you Miles’s ass. You can let me do this shit.” He sneers, jerking his head to the building.

“Fine,” I agree, seeing his point. He knows I’ll make the bastard suffer for what he’s done.

Moving deeper into the building, a chill rushes down my spine and I feel as if we’re not alone.

Not by a long shot. I’m not a religious man.

I don’t know where souls go when they die, but I feel as though we’re definitely not alone in this building, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out how many people actually died in here.

Sticking together, we all head further into the asylum, staying as silent as we’re able to.

About halfway down one hall near the back of the building, I hear the muffled sounds of someone talking.

Moving closer, my finger on the trigger, ready to pull it when needed, the voice clears, and I hear what he says.

“If you think that bastard will come for you, think again. The only reason he was with you is because you carry his spawn. But once I finish what I’m doing, that won’t be the case. ”

The sound of a machine switching on is loud enough to hide my movements as I step around the doorway.

Seeing what’s about to happen, I aim for the fucker’s hand and pull the trigger. Miles screams out in pain as the hose falls from his bleeding hand. The fucker was about to force an abortion on my woman, and for that, he’ll die, but I intend to make it painful.

Miles whirls around to face me, his lip curling in disgust. “You bastard. She’s mine.”

I ignore his last comment and focus on what he told Stella. “You wanna say again that I wouldn’t come for my woman,” I sneer, not glancing at Stella. If I do, I’ll lose it, and I can’t do that. Not yet.

“Bastard. She’s mine. Not yours,” Miles declares, holding his wounded hand to his chest.

“Not in this lifetime,” I say, aiming lower and shooting out his kneecap.

Miles drops to the floor, and my brothers move into the room, surrounding the bastard.

Reaper places a hand on my shoulder. “Take care of Stella.”

At the command, I finally look to my woman to find her strapped to a table, legs spread, and her bottom half is on view for all to see. To make it worse, her stomach is bleeding.

“Fuck,” I mutter to myself. I put my gun back in its holster and move to Stella’s side and undo the straps holding her .

. . starting with her legs so she’s able to close them.

Once I’ve got her arms free, I strip off my cut, then my T-shirt.

My woman might have a shirt on, but mine will cover her bottom.

“I’m so fuckin’ sorry, Love. So damn sorry he got to you.

” I pull her into my arms gingerly and press a kiss to the side of her head.

“It was Juniper,” she says, leaning heavily against my chest. “I . . . I need to . . .” Stella doesn’t finish her sentence before passing out.

“Motherfucker,” I snarl and hold her closer, not worrying about the blood seeping through the tee. “I need to get her to the hospital.” I face Reaper and give him a nod of assurance.

“I’ll meet you there. We’re gonna make sure this bastard gets to the cabin and securely locked down until you can finish him.”

“Do me a favor,” I jerk my chin to the table I just pulled my woman off of, “take that as well and strap him to it. I’ve got plans for him.”

“You got it,” Reaper says, grinning maliciously, his eyes softening only when they land on Stella. “Get her taken care of.”

Leaving them to handle it, I head for the door, stopping only when I meet Hellhound’s expression. “Burn this bitch to the ground, brother. Blow it to smithereens.”

“Don’t worry, VP. I’ll be sure to make this place disappear from the face of the earth,” Hellhound snarls, eyes on his little sister. “Let her know, I love her.”

“Tell her yourself when she wakes up,” I state and make my way out of there. My only focus now is getting Stella the help she needs and making damn sure our kid is okay.

This close I came to losing them.

Everything that happened today is on me for thinking she was safe at the clubhouse. Stella said Juniper’s name before passing out. I know Juniper has something to do with this, but to what extent?

Once I get Stella taken care of, I’ll make sure my brothers find the bitch and find out. This shit with drama and bullshit bitches has to stop. I’m not about to go through something like this again.
