Chapter 9
Chapter Nine
Unknown
Staring across the way, anger boils in my veins. What does she see in him? For that matter, what is she thinking? She’s pure and innocent. She doesn’t need to be tainted by the likes of him.
I just need to get her away from him and those she calls friends. For a few weeks there, I figured she finally got the message. Those she surrounds herself with are darkness, and she’s light. If she doesn’t get away from them, they’ll take that away from her. From me. I can’t allow it.
Following at a distance, I watch as she talks to the man wearing that despicable vest and frowns. What are they talking about? She doesn’t look happy with whatever they’re talking about. A moment passes, and she gets that small, sweet smile I love, and seeing her give that smile to him enrages me.
How dare she? She’ll have to be taught a lesson in how not to act.
I won’t allow her to keep this up.
Not when she’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of.
I need to find a way to get her to stop acting this way and to stay away from him and those other people she seems to want to associate with.
Damn her.
I want her so much. I crave to be with her. But she’s too blind to see what she has and what she doesn’t need.
As the two of them part ways, I follow her a little more, though, I’m watchful of all the men who are here with that man, along with the sibling. I notice him looking around constantly, alert. I can’t allow him to see me.
No one can.
Not until she’s finally mine. She needs to know how much I love her.
Watching her now as she pulls that four-wheeler around, I grind my teeth together. I don’t like the fact she’s chosen to dress like a slut, but I know it’s because of that man. He’s corrupting her, and I will have to fix what he’s done.
If I wait any longer, they’ll snuff that light out of her, and I’ll lose her. I must make plans and hope that I can work out a way to get her away from them all.
Backing away, I stare longingly once more at the woman I want before turning my attention to those who I need to get her away from.
A sneer curls my lips. Soon they won’t be a problem anymore.
I’ll get her away from them, and when I do, she’ll see just how good we are together. And I’ll ensure she doesn’t escape me.
A plan forms in my head, and I know exactly what I must do. It will take some time, and if I hurry, it won’t take too long.
Grinning, I turn away, lift my hood over my head, and head for my car. There’s no reason for me to stay here right now. I’ve seen what I needed to and now know what I must do. Josephine will be mine, and I will do everything I have to do to make sure that happens.
