Chapter 7 #2

My finger had barely left the send button when it buzzed in my hand. Thankfully, I’d remembered to put it on silent, so it didn’t wake Ellery.

“David! It’s been a while. Forgive me for the call, but you know how I am with projects. What you got for me?”

Cameron’s excitement was palpable and made me chuckle.

“I don’t mind texting all the details, but it would’ve been a hassle, so I much prefer this.

I recently met a little who enjoys princess play.

They’re nonbinary, and all of their books feature princesses who identify as girls.

Would you be available to write and format a book?

My digital drawing skills are a bit rusty, but I’d really like to illustrate a book for them. ”

Cameron squealed, and I swear I could hear them jumping up and down.

“Yes, a thousand times, yes. It’s different than my usual work, but it’s such a sweet and beautiful idea.

I can help you. If you’d like, we can get together sometime this week and discuss a general storyline, and then when I finish the rough draft, you can get started on the illustrations. ”

“That sounds amazing. Thank you, Cameron. I’m sure I’ll have more questions for you when we meet, but thank you so much for helping me with this.”

“You’re welcome, David. I’m super excited. This is amazing. I’m going to start brainstorming ideas. See you later!”

“Bye—” I didn’t even get to finish my sentence before the line went dead.

I wasn’t offended; it actually made me laugh.

Cameron was an excellent little and extremely creative.

When he discussed any project, it became his whole focus, and everything else was easily forgotten.

But I didn’t fault him for it; I was the same way about my paintings. It was just who we were.

Excitement and hope coursed through me at a dizzying rate.

I’d spent so long just floating through life one day after another.

It felt like it was time to start taking charge and finally get what I wanted.

My body felt heavy, and my eyes struggled to stay open.

I felt as if all my energy had been zapped out of me as I succumbed to sleep.

When I woke, there was a warm weight pressed on top of me.

I slowly opened my eyes, and the sight before me nearly made my heart melt into a puddle.

Ellery was lying atop me with a purple fuzzy blanket tucked around us.

Their head was on my chest, their face covered by their beautiful hair.

I gently brushed the raven locks out of their face, tucking them behind their ear.

I had no idea why they were lying on top of me, but I couldn’t find the energy to care.

Their body felt so nice against mine. It had been so long since I’d held someone.

I hadn’t realized how much I missed it. Before I could even stop it, I had one hand cradling the back of their head and my other around their waist, just soaking up their warmth.

Closing my eyes, I enjoyed the feel of them against me. They smelled warm and sweet, like vanilla. I’m not sure how long I lay there just holding them before I felt them stir against me. My breath hitched when I saw their gorgeous blue eyes staring back at me. “Well, hello, darling.”

Ellery flashed me a sleepy smile and nuzzled their face into my chest. “Hi. I hope this is okay. I woke up and came to find you, but I was still kinda sleepy, and you looked so comfy.”

Removing my grip from their waist, I cupped the side of their cheek.

“You are always welcome to join me for a snuggle. You probably don’t know this, but it’s in the fine print.

When I received my Daddy certification, I was required to sign a form saying I’d always cuddle my princess no matter what.

So even if I didn’t want to, I’m contractually obligated as your Daddy.

” My silly response made me chuckle, but I stopped when I saw that Ellery’s face was frozen in shock.

Just as I was getting worried that my words upset them, their face broke out in a smile. “You want to be my Daddy?”

Their words were full of hope, and it made my heart sing. “I do. I want to take you on the date I promised you, but I also want to be your Daddy and take care of you. I know we just met, and we still have a lot to learn about one another, but I really like you, Ellery. Princess dresses and all.”

All I saw was a flurry of purple, and then I felt it.

Ellery was right on top of me, their lips pressed softly against mine.

It was a whisper of a kiss, but it left me breathless and wanting more.

They pulled away, their face bright red.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me.

I really like you too. All of you. I’d love for you to be my Daddy. ”

This time, I was the one who leaned forward and pressed my lips to theirs. They let out a gasp, their lips parting just enough for me to slip my tongue inside and deepen the kiss. They moaned into my mouth, their tongue dancing with mine. Need thrummed through me, and my dick was hard and aching.

When we parted for air, Ellery’s cheeks were flushed a beautiful shade of pink, and their kiss-swollen lips were slick with our saliva.

They called out to me like a beacon, and I wanted nothing more than to dive back in and consume them.

But we had a date, and I wasn’t going to let anything, not even my dick, get in the way.

“You taste so fucking good, darling. I could lie here and kiss you all day, but we have a date to go on.”

Ellery gasped, their eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Wait, really? You were serious . . . Is it not too boring or lame? I don’t like going to super crowded spaces, and I really want to see your paintings, but if that’s too boring, we can go out.

” Their voice got softer, and their body radiated nerves.

“I just want to spend time with you . . . It can be anywhere.”

I brushed their wild hair out of their face, tucking it behind their ear, before placing a kiss on the top of their nose.

“I don’t like crowded places either. I love that you’re interested in my art and want me to share it with you.

That to me is way more meaningful than a fancy restaurant.

” They smiled, but it didn’t quite reach their eyes.

I desperately wanted to reassure them. “Darling, as long as I’m with you, I don’t give a fuck where we are.

I want to show you my art, eat takeout with you, and fall asleep holding you.

The only thing that could make it better would be if you brought some princess dresses with you and gave me a fashion show. ”

Ellery’s jaw dropped for what felt like the hundredth time, making me chuckle. “I can bring my pretties and have a fashion show too?”

“Of course you can, darling.”

Ellery jumped off me and started twirling around the small space, their body nearly exploding with excitement. I found myself wanting to pull them back into my embrace so I could feel their warmth, but watching them dance around, their joy palpable, filled me with a different kind of warmth.

“Okay, princess, let’s get this date started!”

Ellery stopped instantly, and I almost thought they were going to protest, but their face broke into the biggest smile I’d ever seen.

“Yay! Our first date!”

Hope so powerful flared to life within me, taking root and burrowing deeper than I thought possible. It was our first date, and if I had anything to say about it, there would be many, many more.
