3. Chapter 3

Fylis

Once through the door, I spare no time digging my laptop out and pulling up the Whip’s End site.

Pulling out a notepad and pen, I click on the services tab.

I list down any kinks I’m interested in and then search each one individually.

Bondage looked fun, especially for the one performing the act.

Not the other way around. Cuffs, blindfolds, and ropes all sound like something I could get into.

Begging and breath play made it under the maybe category.

I’m open to trying new things. Spanking excited me a lot.

Edging, sensory play, and food play round out the list. Though I may have just been hungry while writing down that last one. It’s not a huge list, but it’s a start.

Clicking back to the club’s site, I tap on the New Client tab and am taken to a kink questionnaire.

I actually love questionnaires, so I dive into each one eagerly, answering them thoughtfully.

I feel excited. Exhilarated even, until that last question submits, and I’m left with my results.

The letters are big and bold: SUBMISSIVE.

Scoffing, I move away from the desk. My hooves beat a path into the floor as I pace.

I answered perfectly. I did the research.

I’m a dominant. Not some breedable little goat.

I grab my phone and click Burgess’s contact. “Hello, Fylis.” His cheery tone grated on my frazzled nerves.

“I took the stupid kink test and you know what it said?” My growl is cut off by his chuckle.

“Questionnaire. And let me guess. Dominant?” A pebble of delight chips away at the anger.

“No! But I’m glad you think that. I did the research, and I’m definitely dominant. But that questionnaire said I’m a submissive.” I ramble on in frustration, only hearing myself until Burgess cuts me off.

“Maybe, it’s not what you want, but what you need.

” Need? Do I need to be someone’s sub? What purpose would that serve?

I’m the one who needs the relief, right?

And why does Burgess suddenly sound so knowing and intelligent?

I mean, he is a colleague, but he’s a bludgeon ball coach. Not a true professor.

“Fylis? You there?”

My mind races back to my research. I simply passed over the other kinks. Did I miss something? “Yes, yes, sorry. I’ll call you back.”

“Research calls,” he laughs, then the line goes dead.

I sit back down at my desk and click back to the services tab.

I click on all the kinks the questionnaire had listed for me as possible interests.

It’s nearly the same list, just roles reversed.

Am I really into this? I delve into the rabbit hole, researching dynamics and roles.

Trying to make sense of all of it. I even do video research.

With all the curtains drawn, of course, and the audio muted.

Can’t have a student pass by and see me looking up porn.

No matter the video, my eyes always lock onto the dominant. What am I missing?

Hours pass, and I’m no closer to a hypothesis or theory. Being a submissive doesn’t excite me like the thought of being a dominant. A yawn catches me off guard, and I glance at the clock. “I guess I’ll have my answers tomorrow.” Another yawn escapes as I drag myself to my room.
