Chapter Thirteen #2

“Like I have been shot, and I’m pissed off,” Rusty said, going to the bar. “So, before I start hunting them shits down, I’m going to have a drink—a lot of drinks—and then I’m going to start dealing with shit. You want to join me?”

Pat shook his head and looked toward the time.

He had dropped Ava off at work, and Bernice was with him tonight.

In fact, she was still huddled in bed in the corner he had set for her.

He gave a whistle, and she came trotting toward him.

She put her head against his hand, and he couldn’t resist giving her a stroke.

She really was a good dog. Ava loved her, and it had become part of her life to take her wherever she went.

“I’m heading out for tonight. Tomorrow morning, I’m coming with you.”

****

I t had been a slow night. Even though Ava knew Pat was busy, she couldn’t help but wonder if he was going to step right through that door, give her that charming smile of his, and tell her everything was going to be okay.

So far, nothing. Which was fine. He had a lot to handle. He told her club business could take a while.

“Are you okay?” Lauren asked, coming out of hiding as soon as the last customer left.

“Yeah, I’m okay. It has been a crazy few days.”

“Yeah, I heard one of the dogs somehow got trapped in the sewer, and everyone had to help out.”

Ava had heard that as well. She knew another dog had curled up at the back door of her mother’s house.

Hazel and Violet had decided that was fate and adopted the dog, and now had a beautiful Jack Russell living with them.

She was a feisty little girl, but that just made her all the more lovable.

Bernice also got on well with her, and they had decided to call her Erica.

Erica and Bernice. Both dogs’ names had been taken by her father.

It felt right to continue his memory in owning a dog.

“I heard,” Ava said. “It has been strange, hasn’t it?”

“Well, at least it will settle down now. Those poor dogs, though. I can’t believe anyone could be so cruel as to set fire to an animal shelter.” Lauren sighed.

“Have you taken any of the dogs?”

“Yes, I currently have three back at my apartment.”

Ava laughed. “Three? How did that happen?”

“I don’t know. I helped save two dogs that I think are mongrels, and then another that was a cocker spaniel.” Lauren shrugged. “They have certainly made life interesting, and One loves vanilla frosting.”

“One?” Ava asked.

Lauren went a bright shade of red. “I might not know what to call my dogs, so they are One, Two, and Three. I know that’s bad, but I never had a dog before, and well, you know. I’m trying my best. I’ve already gone and got them all these sweet beds, and lots of toys.”

“Do they chew the furniture?” Ava asked.

“No, and that surprises me. I mean, they are so well-behaved. I don’t leave them for long, and I take them out, walk them. They are the cutest.” Lauren sighed. “Now that I am talking about them, I miss them so much.”

Ava laughed, and then she turned toward the shop window as lights shone through.

“I think that is my ride tonight.”

Pat wouldn’t be bringing the bike, as he had also opted to have Bernice for the night.

“Go, go, I’ve got this. Have some fun, and I will see you soon.”

Ava chuckled, wished her boss a good night, and headed out.

Pat was already out of the car, rounding to the passenger seat, and opening the door for her.

“Thank you,” she said.

“Anything for you.”

He made her heart go crazy.

Once inside, Pat didn’t stop there, he reached in and secured the seat belt in place.

They hadn’t been together since Halloween night. Ava couldn’t believe that had entered her head, but they’d not had sex since then. They rarely touched. It had been so busy with the dogs and work.

She checked the back of the car to see Bernice snuggled beneath a blanket. Her little girl hated the cold and was constantly trying to find some heat.

“How is everything?” Ava asked.

“It’s as good as can be expected.”

They drove all the way to her place, which wasn’t far.

Ava couldn’t help but tense up as other cars passed them.

Since the garage shooting, along with the animal shelter fire, she had come to realize quickly that someone was targeting the club.

Pat hadn’t said anything, nor had she asked, but she knew it was happening. And it was fucking scary as well.

“Are you okay?” Ava asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

She waited to see if he was going to tell her more, but he didn’t. They arrived at her apartment block, and neither of them lingered. Pat climbed out, and before she had the chance to, he’d grabbed Bernice into his arms and carried her across the parking lot toward her building.

Ava typed in the code to get inside, and they took the elevator to her floor and stepped out.

She already had her keys ready and let them in.

Once inside, she flicked the locks in place and turned on the light.

Pat put Ava on the floor, and her little puppy dog went straight to her bed and snuggled beneath it.

She had time to put her bag on the coat rack, along with her jacket, and then Pat was there. He cupped her face, tilted her head back, and his lips were right on hers.

Melting against him with a moan, she slid her hands up his chest and then wrapped them around the back of his neck. She didn’t want to let him go. It felt so good to finally touch him, to have him back in her grasp.

“I’ve missed you,” Pat said.

His hands started at her waist, but they soon slid down and grabbed her ass, which she didn’t have a problem with, as he pulled her in close.

“I need a shower,” she said.

She let out a little gasp, as with ease he seemed to be able to pick her up, and she let out a little giggle as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

“You can’t do that,” Ava said, although she was not complaining, because this felt good. “You’re going to hurt your back, your legs, and possibly even your ankles.”

She let out a cry as he drew back his hand and swatted her ass. She let out a yelp in surprise. “Hey, what was that for?”

“If I want to carry my woman, I’ll fucking carry her. You got that?” he asked.

She smiled against his lips. “Yes, sir, if that is what you would like.”

He all but grunted. This made her laugh even more. Damn, it felt so good to laugh with him.

He carried her through to her small en-suite bathroom.

Her apartment was small, but it was in a good neighborhood.

The building was clean. She had seen a couple of places during her search that had surprised her.

Diapers lining the hallways, human excrement covering the walls, the stench that seemed to cling to every pore and every fiber of one’s person.

Yeah, she was happy with her small apartment. It didn’t have the yard and the space for children, but it was a start.

Once inside the bathroom, it did not take Pat long to strip her of her clothes.

She let out a gasp as he did the same, removing his leather cut.

Ava always noticed how careful he was with his leather jacket.

He never threw it to the floor. He showed his jacket respect.

His shirt and pants were different. They always ended up on the floor.

Within seconds, he had them both naked, and she was pretty sure he had broken some kind of world record with how fast he worked.

The moment they were in the shower, he moved her out of the way, and Ava didn’t get to feel the coldness of the water, as he had taken the full blast. She couldn’t believe how sweet he was.

So freaking sweet. Pat only moved her when the water had warmed up, and then he placed her in front of the spray, and it felt good.

She didn’t get a chance to reach for the soap first, as he already had it within his grip, and she noticed he didn’t lather up a sponge. His hands would be the sponge, and the instant he put his hands on her, Ava did not have a single complaint. It felt good to feel his hands on her body.

She moaned his name, and he let out a little growl. All too soon, he had spun her around, and she could no longer see his face, as he got to work in lathering her body with the soap. He was thorough as well, covering her entire body, but she noticed he didn’t touch her tits or her pussy.

His touch was not helping to keep her calm.

It was setting her body on fire. She craved his touch, even more so, as he wasn’t touching her where she needed him to.

Her nipples felt so tender. She pressed her thighs together, hoping to cause some friction that would help give her some reprieve. Nothing was working.

“Are you wanting me to touch you?” he asked. His voice a mere whisper against her ear, and she didn’t know how he did it, to make it sound so damn sexual.

She whimpered.

“I need to hear you say it.”

“Yes, please, Pat, touch me.”

He didn’t, not right away, as Pat was in full teasing mode. The tips of his fingers grazed down her body, and they were driving her crazy. He even stroked them down the tips of her nipples, and she gritted her teeth, trying to control her need for him.

Pat knew exactly what he was doing. Each touch enhanced her need to the point it felt like she was straining to get as close to him as she possibly could.

“Please,” she said.

And then he cupped her tits. Pat spun her around again, and before she could make a sound, his lips were on hers, silencing any protest. His lips were deadly, and as he broke the kiss, she had every intention of telling him.

Only, he started to kiss down her body, and before too long, he went to her neck.

He had a couple of days’ worth of stubble, and it made his kisses even more sensitive as that stubble grazed across her tender flesh.

He sucked on her neck, nipping right at the spot that felt amazing, and then he kissed down, going toward her tits.

She cried out the moment he took one in his mouth and started to suckle at it.

He did so hard, almost to the point of pain, only he stopped and then soothed it with his tongue, and she gasped, wanting more.

Pat moved to the next breast, his tongue swirling across her bud, and then he took it between his teeth. Ava closed her eyes, loving every sensation, but she also wanted to watch what he was doing, and she quickly opened her eyes. He sucked and lathered, and it felt so damn good.

Pat was not done with the kissing. She watched as he sunk to his knees, took her leg, and lifted it right across his shoulder.

“Do you have any idea how much I love the fact no other man has been with you?” he asked.

She shook her head.

“So much, and I know I shouldn’t, but I do. Do you know why I do?” he asked.

Again, she shook her head, because right now, words were not working for her, and it was best that she remain silent.

“Because that makes you all mine.”

She could live with that. All she wanted was to be with Pat.
