Chapter 23

Chapter Twenty-Three

Roland

Roland watched her from across the room, chest warm with affection, desire, and that unshakable awe he always felt when she was simply being herself. She was sweet, shy, and utterly undone by the smallest acts of care.

Sydney lay sprawled across their bed, tucked into the messy heap of blankets like she belonged there.

And she did. Especially now that she’d made her decision.

The morning light streamed through the windows, gold and clean, catching in the strands of her beautiful, thick hair.

Her skin, still flushed from the bath and the laughter over breakfast, glowed with a softness that made Roland’s throat tighten.

She’d eaten every bite of the oatmeal he’d made, giggling between spoonfuls as Levi made increasingly inappropriate comments about how he intended to enjoy his own “breakfast”.

And now, here she was, belly full, eyes dreamy, and a fresh blush already spreading across her cheeks as Levi stalked toward her with slow, deliberate intent.

Roland sat in the armchair in the corner of the room, shirtless, coffee forgotten on the side table.

Watching. Waiting. Adoring. He loved seeing Levi like this.

His handsome partner was powerful, focused, and completely attuned to the Little girl squirming beneath his gaze.

And he loved even more the way Sydney responded to him, so pliant and trusting.

She bit her lip as Levi crawled onto the bed, prowling over her on all fours like a lion about to feast. “Hungry, Daddy?” she teased, her voice a mix of nerves and giddy anticipation.

“Oh, starving,” Levi growled, dipping down to nip at the swell of her inner thigh.

She squeaked and tried to close her legs, but he pinned them open with a firm hand.

“What do you think you’re doing, little miss?

These thighs belong to me and Daddy Ro. And that pretty pink pussy between them is all ours too. You don’t get to hide that from me.”

Roland’s smile was slow and indulgent. “Better hold still, little bird. Your Daddy Levi gets grumpy when he’s hungry.”

Sydney made a breathless sound that could’ve been a giggle, or a moan, and Roland felt it like a punch beneath his ribs.

Or more like a kick to the very blue balls he was sporting.

His cock was aching and he couldn’t wait to sink into the warm heat between Sydney’s legs. But he had to have patience.

Levi kissed up her thigh, trailing his tongue along the delicate skin, coaxing her open again with reverence.

Roland could see from his vantage point that she was already wet, already trembling.

Their pretty girl’s fingers clutched the sheets, and she arched her hips up as she tried to meet each of Levi’s teasing licks.

“Sweetest thing I’ve ever tasted,” Levi murmured against her, voice thick with heat. “And all ours.”

She gasped, head thrown back, a shiver running through her whole body. Roland saw the moment she gave herself over completely. Her eyes fluttered closed as her mouth fell open, her hands fisting helplessly in the bedding. It was beautiful.

He stood, and walked quietly to the bed. She didn’t notice him at first, too consumed by the slow, devastating way Levi was worshipping her. His mouth worked with exquisite control, licking and sucking with maddening precision, and Roland had to stop himself from groaning aloud at the sight.

He knelt beside her, brushing her hair from her damp forehead, and she startled when she realized he was there.

“Hi, sweet girl,” he said gently, cupping her cheek.

“Hi,” she breathed, smiling dreamily up at him.

Levi growled something incoherent against her pussy, making her squeal. Roland chuckled. “He really wasn’t kidding, was he?”

“N-no,” she whimpered, her thighs trembling now. “Oh, goodness, Daddy, please—”

Roland leaned in and kissed her, swallowing her next moan as Levi sucked hard on her clit. She jolted beneath them, her whole body arching. Roland held her still, deepening the kiss, grounding her as Levi brought her closer to the edge.

“That’s it,” he murmured against her lips. “Let him take care of you. You don’t have to do a thing, babygirl. Just feel it.”

She whimpered again, and her hands flew up to grab on to Levi’s hair, fingers threading through the damp strands. He didn’t stop. If anything, he doubled down, his low hum of approval vibrating straight through her core.

“You’re beautiful like this, little bird. Now come for your Daddies.”

Her orgasm hit like a tidal wave.

Sydney shattered beneath them, crying out against Roland’s mouth, her whole body shaking as Levi kept licking her through every wave, coaxing every drop of pleasure from her until she went boneless.

When Levi finally pulled back, his mouth glistened, and his eyes were dark with satisfaction. He kissed her thigh, then her hip, then curled around her on the bed with a content sigh, nuzzling into her tummy like a man well-fed.

Roland eased back beside them and pulled the blanket up over her trembling form, tucking her into the warmth of both their bodies.

“You okay, little one?” he asked, stroking her cheek.

Sydney blinked up at him, dazed and glowing. “I think I died,” she whispered.

Levi chuckled. “You’ll live.”

She laughed, weak and happy, snuggling closer between them.

Roland pressed a kiss to her temple. “That’s what breakfast in bed looks like around here. Just wait till lunch.”

She groaned, but she didn’t move away. Instead, she nestled deeper between them with a sigh so soft it made Roland’s heart ache.

Roland watched her lips part with gentle, even breaths, her entire body relaxed in a way that still felt impossibly rare. Like each exhale was a miracle. He knew how hard-won that peace was for her.

It scared the shit out of him, how fast she’d burrowed into his chest. How much he wanted to guard that softness with his life. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. Not with someone so new. Not with someone who still cried over the messages from her ex.

But then she looked at him like that—hopeful, bashful, believing him even when she said she almost didn’t—and he knew there was no going back.

Levi squeezed his hand. Roland squeezed back. They were both in this now. Both falling, fast.

It was early for them still. They had a long road ahead. But in that quiet morning light, tangled in limbs and love, it felt like everything might just be okay.

“I never thought…” Sydney began, voice small. “I didn’t know it could feel like this. Like I could be… safe, and wanted. Not just used.”

Roland stroked her hair. “You’re not a toy here, little bird. You’re a treasure.”

Sydney was quiet after that, and Roland almost thought she’d fallen asleep when she spoke up again. “You make me almost believe those words.”

Fuck. She was going to break his damn heart.

“Well, little miss,” Levi said before Roland could find his words. “Ro and I will make it our mission to remind you, every day, until you do believe it.”

She was quiet again, but her fingers gripped his wrist like a lifeline. “Do you think the sheriff will be able to do something about Greg?”

Levi’s voice was steady. “Even if he can’t, you’re safe here. With us.”

“Okay.” She let out a shaky breath. “Then I want to stay. Really stay.”

Then she tucked herself deeper into Roland’s embrace, snuggled in and finally fell asleep.
