Chapter Thirty-Seven

COBY

Three months later…

“Coby.” It wasn’t my name that convinced me to wake up.

It was the frantic breaths against that sensitive spot behind my ear.

It was the hard chest pressed against my back.

The fingers skating underneath the t-shirt I’d worn to bed.

The hard, demanding ridge lodged against my ass. “Lift your leg, baby. I got to go.”

I complied without opening my eyes.

It was still early. I could feel it in my exhaustion.

But I couldn’t do without this.

Ocean had woken Hunter and fucked her to within an inch of her life when he came home late last night. I’d woken in the middle of it, her choked cries, the rough jostling of the bed, and Ocean’s gruff and filthy commands briefly piercing my sleep.

Now it was my turn.

My panties were shoved aside, and I felt the coolness of the air against my warm, wet pussy before his dick was there, slowly filling me up. I’d been plagued with dreams of this before Ocean woke me, so I was more than ready to be fucked.

This had become our unspoken routine. Ocean would take one or both of us before he started and ended his day. My personal favorite was when he tracked down one of us during the day. Those secret rendezvous were rare since he was hardly home.

The war with his father was still ongoing, neither side making much progress. Some days, Ocean didn’t come home at all, but at least Hunter and I had each other.

I knew that’s what would happen now.

Ocean would fuck me and then leave me here, spent and dripping to curl against Hunter for warmth while he left us safe and sound to put himself in danger again.

Ocean flexed his hips when my thoughts caused my pussy to resist him a little, and then we both let out a moan when he finally sank that last impossible inch inside.

I loved these slow, leisurely morning fucks.

No matter how busy Ocean’s schedule was, he always made time to show me how much he needed me. Sometimes, we’d make love. Other times, he’d take me on a hike, teach me how to play chess, or sit and let me read to him until I fell asleep in the middle of a chapter.

Feeling my need grow, I pushed my ass back against him, and Ocean responded with a thrust of his own.

“So fucking tight,” he groaned hoarsely.

Together, as if we had all the time in the world, we moved under the sheets as one, our heavy breathing penetrating the early morning quiet and the scent of our sex mingling with his and Hunter’s.

It was perfect.

Exactly how it was always meant to be.

Hunter and I were never meant to be apart; Ocean and I wouldn’t have been able to resist each other forever, which meant the two of them would have destroyed each other over their shared obsession.

Feeling my orgasm rise, I reached out for something to hold onto, to anchor me to this plane so that I didn’t float off from the ecstasy, but instead of the bedsheet, my fingers met soft skin.

Hunter.

The princess palace, where we’d gone to bed last night without Ocean, was still cloaked in shadows when I finally opened my eyes.

The first rays of morning light had already begun to penetrate the dark, so I could just make out Hunter’s sleeping form.

She was lying on her back with her thick thighs still gapped open, the slip she’d worn to bed bunched around her soft middle, leaving her pussy and breasts bared.

Her hands were still bound and stretched above her head with the rope tying her wrists together. I shivered at the sight of her splayed out and vulnerable with her pussy on display and Ocean’s nut still drying on her thighs.

How long had they gone at it while I slept beside them, an unconscious witness to it all? They had obviously only just finished, but still, Ocean needed more.

Hunter’s heavy tits bounced with our movements, but she didn’t wake.

My pussy tightened around Ocean as I reached for her, but Ocean yanked me back with a growl, possessive of both of his spoils.

Wrapping his hand around my neck, my mouth fell open when he tightened his grip and picked up the pace, fucking me harder and staking his claim.

I knew it was coming.

Ocean always got like this whenever Hunter and I fooled around. The jealousy between the three of us excited me to the point that I’d find myself giving in to it more often than not.

Like now.

Poking the bear, I moaned, “Oh, God. Hunter.”

Ocean cursed before flipping me onto my stomach and yanking my ass in the air. “Who?”

I could feel his monster dick looming near my entrance like a threat.

“Ocean,” I moaned shyly this time.

My fingers and toes curled into the sheets when he re-entered me, digging his fingers into my hips to keep me still as he used me.

Resting my head on my arms with a smile, I happily let him.

After Roshaun was murdered, Ocean moved us far away from the city and into this beautiful ranch home in the middle of nowhere. This large plot of land was only a short hike from one of the many bluffs overlooking a massive lake, and I couldn’t love it more.

Ocean was out again while Hunter and I were on the back patio overlooking the pool and open fields. We were sharing a bag of grapes and gossiping about one of the bitches we used to work with.

Apparently, Cadence was getting married to Will, a former coworker who had gone all Fatal Attraction on Hunter after she let him eat her ass for lunch a few times. Needless to say, Cadence couldn’t stand Hunter.

It had been months since we literally disappeared off the face of the earth, but the girl was still keeping it up like she had nothing better to do than think about Hunter.

“I’m going to comment,” my bestie warned.

I lunged for her phone because I knew she meant it, but she held it out of reach. Damn, my short arms! “You better not, Hunter.”

“Why not?” she tossed back while tapping on the comment section of the picture we’d been looking at.

“Because it’s their engagement photo!”

Cadence and Will had just announced they were getting married, yet Cadence was still taking shots at Hunter in the post.

It made no sense.

Hunter could not care less about either of them.

Will had been unequivocally single when they messed around.

And we’d even quit that job to get away from him, but Cadence was still convinced that Hunter wanted her man.

She must have been bored with him and needed the drama to make their relationship feel alive.

And because Will never stopped liking and leaving heart eyes under Hunter’s old pics.

She obviously hadn’t posted anything since we were in hiding, but she still checked it regularly.

Hell, Will had even DM’d her a few days ago.

“Fuck that hoe,” Hunter spat. “She wants to talk out of her ass? I’m going to ask her how mine tastes.”

“Hunter!” She didn’t respond as she quickly typed a comment and hit send. I stole a peek at what she wrote and saw that she’d written precisely that. “Bitch, you hell!” I said, cackling.

An hour after her comment, Will was on live, calling Hunter every name but a child of God. Hunter and I thought it was pure comedy, knowing he was trying to save face and appease his horse-faced fiancée.

A notification for a post that Hunter was tagged in popped up while we were watching Will go off. She rolled her eyes when she saw the name, but clicked on it nonetheless.

The post was from a distant relative of Hunter’s, announcing the memorial service of Lester Parrish.

Hunter’s father.

The bastard had died tragically in his sleep during a house fire.

In his fucking sleep.

The grape I was chewing turned to ash in my mouth. “Oh, Hunter, I’m—”

“It’s fine,” she cut me off. Hunter darkened her phone without responding to the post.

I sent a text to Ocean anyway, who dropped whatever he was doing and rushed home.

Three days later, Hunter had still barely spoken a word to anyone. We found her alone in the training room that morning, taking her frustrations out on a punching bag.

Ocean had come prepared, though.

I took a seat on one of the benches and hugged my legs as I watched Ocean slowly approach Hunter like he would an injured animal.

And just as any would when cornered, Hunter attacked.

For what felt like hours, Ocean and Hunter battled it out until Ocean managed to pin Hunter to the mat. “It’s a lie. He suffered,” Ocean swore as Hunter thrashed violently underneath him. “I promise you, baby. He fucking suffered.”

Hunter suddenly went still, and so did I at the realization that, of course, Ocean killed her father. He wasn’t going to make the same mistake as he did with Roshaun. I never in a million years would have thought I’d actually smile at the thought of someone being brutally murdered.

One by one, our enemies fell until there was only one.

Malcolm.

Ocean was still hanging out at home a week later.

Back to herself again, Hunter kept rolling her eyes at our insistence on coddling her.

If only she knew…

Draping his arm over my shoulder, Ocean kissed the top of my head as we waited for Hunter to finish putting her makeup on. “Ready?” he whispered so Hunter wouldn’t overhear.

I nodded eagerly as I bounced up and down on my toes. “Hunter, go outside!” I squealed when my excitement became too much to bear.

She turned from the mirror at the vanity table in our bedroom and gave us both a weird look. Ocean was better at keeping a straight face than I was. I was grinning like a maniac because it was Hunter’s birthday today, and Ocean had pulled off the mother of all surprises.

After trying unsuccessfully to get us to spill the beans, we followed Hunter and Coco through the house and out the massive front doors. Just as she stepped out from under the portico, her birthday surprise appeared.

An off-white 1993 Ford Thunderbird.

Abel was behind the wheel as he parked the old car in front of Hunter, who had gone utterly still.

It seemed impossible for my smile to get wider as I watched the shock play out on Hunter’s face.

Abel climbed out of the car after killing the engine, which didn’t knock or sputter like it had before the car went into the pond. She even had a fresh paint job and a new interior.

It had taken a while to repair the extensive water damage and find all the genuine parts needed to restore the old Thunderbird to her former glory. She was in even better shape than when Hunter found her, but still a cranky old bitch.

Honestly, it would have been cheaper and easier to just buy Hunter a new car, but she’d never love another car the way she loved Deb.

Before the three of us came together, this car had been the only place that ever truly felt like home to Hunter. And she’d sacrificed Deb to save me.

Abel nodded in deference to Hunter and me before tossing something to Ocean.

It was a long platinum chain with two silver keys hanging from it.

Ocean stepped forward and draped it over Hunter’s neck. I watched him kiss her cheek, and then I did the same. Hunter’s hand trembled when she reached for the chain.

Once she felt the car keys resting against her heart, she dropped to her knees and sobbed. “Debbiiieeeeeee!”

A moment later, Kellan burst through the front door behind us. “Is it here? Did I miss it?”

No one answered him as Hunter sobbed.

This time, they were happy tears.

Deborah was back, bitches.
