Chapter 41

Archer looks petrified for all of a second before he schools his features into the typical Archer facade. He makes his way towards me at the end of the hall. When he reaches me he sighs long and heavy.

“I don’t know what to say.” He tells me.

I look him up and down. “How was it?”

His eyes snap to mine, reading. I’m grinning at him but he can’t tell if I'm serious or about to snap.

“It was Liv. How do you think? You’ve kissed her before.” He rubs his hand on the back of his neck. “Look man. I'm sorry. She kissed me and I couldn’t resist.”

“I could tell.” I say pushing off the wall. “Can’t wait to see it happen again.” I tell him as I turn and head into the locker room. It’s time to wash the game off.

“Hurry up and shower. There’s a party to celebrate our win later.” I tell him over my shoulder.

We’re at Bryce’s house for the party and Archer and I have found a couple of chairs in a corner of one of the living rooms that is full of dancing people.

Including Liv and Morella. Watching this girl dance is a treat in itself but watching Archer watch Liv dance is even better.

He can’t sit still. His hair is a mess from running his hand through it.

When he’s not messing up his hair, he’s ripping the armrests off the chair.

I laugh, catching his attention.

“What?” He snaps.

I reach into my pocket and pull out a soft peppermint candy and toss it in his lap. He looks down at the candy and picks it up. Then looks back at me, a scowl on his face. “Why the hell do you keep giving me these?”

“If you would put it in your mouth you would know.” I tell him. Watching him struggle when it comes to Liv, is glorious.

Archer looks at the candy with skepticism for a moment before ripping open the clear wrapper.

His eyes shoot to mine and I just know the smell has reached him.

He takes a sniff and I see the look in his eyes shift.

He takes the candy from the wrapper and pops it into his mouth.

I can see the exact moment he tastes it. Dude practically moans.

“Holy fuck dude.” He says to me and he slumps in the chair. “You better have more of those.”

“I’ve got a whole pocket full for you buddy.” I pat my leg that’s sporting a full pocket.

He leans his head back on the chair and hangs his arm over his face. “God that’s good.”

After a few drinks and a few more songs the girls stumble their way over to us. They’re giggling and holding onto each other for support. Not very helpful when they’re both drunk.

“Ooooh.” Liv giggles at me. “Why’s your pocket so big? Are you happy to see me?” She stumbles and laughs with Morella.

Both Archer and I laugh as well but then I grab her hand. “Why don’t you stick your hand in there and find out?” I say with a wink.

Her and Morella giggle again.

I pull gently on Liv’s hand and she falls into my lap.

Archer's eyes track her every movement. She’s wiggling around on my lap, probably trying to get comfortable, but she’s starting to make things difficult for me.

I look over at Archer and see he’s starting to grip the chair again, eyes full of heat.

I grab hold of Liv’s waist and lean close and whisper into her ear. “If you don’t stop wiggling around like that you’re going to have a massive problem to deal with and I’ll make you handle it right here so sit still.”

Immediately she straightens. I laugh into her ear and then press a kiss to her neck. She leans back into me with a small gasp leaving her lips. I lean back with her and one hand slides from her waist to the outside of her thigh.

Archer clears his throat and I Iook his way. “You uh, wanna throw me another candy?”

I reach in my pocket and hand him a few candies. Just in case. This is about to get fun.

Liv is still heavily leaning into me when she asks, “Where did Morella go?”

I look around and notice Morella is in fact gone. I don’t see her on the dance floor, or anywhere in this room. “I'm not sure Princess.” I tell her. “I’m sure she’s here somewhere though.”

I slide my hand to rest more on the top of her thigh.

Before her and Morella came to the party they went home to change.

As Morella said, ‘she wouldn’t be caught dead going to a party in peasant clothes.

’ Referring to her leggings and hockey sweater.

Liv changed into a black top. Sleeves rolled, neckline soft, and that necklace catching just enough light to draw my eyes where they shouldn't linger.

Then there’s the skirt. Brown. Pleated. Way too short for me to be a gentleman about it. Velvet maybe? I don’t even know. All I know is it moves when she walks, and my hands ache just thinking about the way it would feel if I gripped it.

Black tights. Legs that won’t quit. And those boots, high, glossy, buckled at the ankle, like she’s ready to stomp on my pride and not even blink while doing it.

My hand travels higher and farther inside her thigh, feeling the drag of the tights she’s wearing. Her breathing has hitched, eyes fluttered closed. I look over to see Archer watching my hand intently, the obvious bump in his cheek showing he’s popped another candy in his mouth.

I reach up with my other hand and move Liv’s luscious ginger curls to her other shoulder, and give Archer a very clear view of what I do next.

I start at the base of her neck and I drag my tongue all the way up to just below the sensitive spot behind her ear.

She moans out softly and Archer damn near chokes.

He chomps down on the candy and I laugh.

This is too much fun. Not only do I get to tease Liv, but I also get to watch Archer struggle not to combust.

One more movement of my arm and my fingers have slipped underneath Liv’s skirt. One little twitch of my fingers and they’re brushing against her already heated core. Liv inhales sharply and grabs ahold of the chair with one hand.

Archers eyes are glued. I stroke a few times, small sweet noises leaving Liv’s lips and then I pull my hand away and lace both hands behind my head.

Liv makes a noise like she’s frustrated.

Archer drops his head back, adjusting himself from outside of his jeans, eyes closed, and then white knuckles the armrests.

A while later Rafe joins us, sitting on my left.

He starts to lean back in his chair but looks over at Liv in my lap.

She's bobbing her head and singing along to the song that's playing but doesn't sound nearly as good as she thinks she does.

He leans forward as he looks at her and sighs.

“Lovely, another drunk girl to deal with tonight.” He scoffs and flops back into his chair.

Liv turns his way and sticks her tongue out at him like a child. “Just because you have a stick permanently lodged up your ass doesn't mean others can’t have fun. I’m just enjoying myself and minding my own business. You could learn a thing or two from that.”

Archer and I both laugh at that. She's crossing her arms now and pouting.

“Yeah well, I've already had to carry one drunk girl to my car. I’m not carrying you too.” He tells her.

“You don’t need to.” She says and tries to stand up but immediately trips over herself and falls into Archer.

“Whoa there pretty girl.” He tells her trying to help her not fall completely to the floor. “Looks like it’s time to head home.”
