Chapter 10 – My Boyfriends Will Be Jealous #2

If I hadn’t heard Liam playing videogames all the time, I would have been concerned. I walked into the game room and stared at the huge TV screen. A character was gushing blood out everywhere. Somone tossed their controller onto the couch.

This room was just as packed. And I didn’t see Jacob anywhere in here either.

“There you are, baby doll,” RJ said.

I jumped. He’d snuck up behind me. “RJ, have you seen Jacob?”

“I’m more interested in hearing about your new boyfriend. I like you and Leo together.” He took a bite of a brownie in his hand. “It’s basically like you’re dating me, which I find very fascinating.”

“Leo is not like you.” But...he kind of was. Sophie had said the same thing. They weren’t like exactly the same though. They were both just funny.

“Isn’t he though?”

“And we’re not dating.”

“That’s not what everyone is saying.”

My eyes grew round. “People are talking about it?”

“Of course. News spreads fast around here.”

“Where is Jacob?” I asked.

RJ shrugged. “I don’t know. I haven’t seen him.”

I pulled out my phone to text him, but it wouldn’t unlock. “Crap. I forgot my glasses. Can you text Jacob for me?”

“And why would I do that? It would be a lot more fun if Jacob heard the news from someone else, wouldn’t it? We haven’t had a boxing match since the beginning of the school year. And I’ve been practicing my right hook.”

“RJ! There isn’t going to be a fight!”

“I know, more like an all out brawl, don’t you think?”

Gah! “RJ, please text Jacob.”

“You want me to tell him the news?” He shrugged. “If that’s really what you want...”

“No! Stop being dense.” I grabbed his brownie and took a big bite.

“What are you doing?”

“You know I stress eat.” I tossed the rest of it in my mouth.

“No, don’t...” RJ’s voice trailed off when I swallowed. “Oh. Um. Okay.”

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

He blinked, his eyes wide. “You just shoved the whole thing in your mouth like a barbarian. And you didn’t even ask me what kind of brownie it was first.”

“Dark chocolate I think.”

“Right,” he said. “That’s technically correct. Let’s go with that.”

Okay then... “Will you please help me find Jacob now?”

He nodded. “Yeah, I’m super excited to see this now. Maybe Axel knows where Jacob is.” He pointed to Axel. He was sitting on the couch with Gigi on his lap.

I sighed and walked over. “Axel, have you seen Jacob?”

“I’m a little busy,” he said. His hands slid to Gigi’s ass. “Unless you’re reconsidering my proposal. And that’s why you’re asking about Jacob.”

“What proposal?” Gigi said.

“Give me a minute, sweet cheeks.” He practically shoved Gigi off his lap.

“What the hell, Axel?” She glared at him.

“Sorry,” he said and looked down at his arms like he didn’t realize how strong he was. “RJ, what was in those brownies again?” He stood up and walked over to us.

“Dark chocolate,” I said.

Axel gave me a weird look. “You had a bite?”

“I ate a whole brownie. It was great. Can we please get back to my question? Have you seen Jacob?”

“You let her eat a whole brownie?” Axel said to RJ.

RJ just shrugged. “I didn’t mean to.”

Axel shook his head. “We’re going home.” He grabbed my wrist.

“I can’t go home.” I swatted his hand away. “I need to go to...” I couldn’t think of the word. “Confession?” I laughed. That didn’t sound right.

“You really have found religion,” Axel said.

“No. I haven’t. I’m a terrible person. I have two boyfriends.”

Axel looked at RJ.

“She’s dating Leo now too,” RJ said.

“I wonder what your father would have to say about that,” Axel said and grabbed my wrist again, like he was about to pull me out of here and take me to my dad.

“If I was Liam he’d give me a high five. Well, maybe not if Liam was dating two boys. I honestly have no idea how my father would feel about that. I was thinking the opposite. Two girls. Liam’s a slut.”

Axel laughed.

Which made me smile. “I love your laugh.”

“Thanks, Scarlett. So what is this about two boyfriends? I thought we were going down to zero?”

“Why should I have zero when you’re dating Gigi? You didn’t even stick to your own pact. Ugh. I hate her. Why are you doing this to me?”

Axel looked down at where he was still holding my wrist. “Break up with the boyfriend and I’ll call it quits on Gigi.”

“I thought you guys were serious?”

“About as serious as you and Jacob. So it’ll be an even dumping. But what is this about Leo?”

“I was just trying to unmask my kiss thief...”

“Scarlett,” RJ hissed.

“And RJ made me do it in person. And it was Leo! Can you believe it?”

“No,” Axel said. “I can’t. But mostly because I have no idea what the heck a kiss thief is.”

I laughed. “He pulls me into dark closets and makes out with me. Isn’t that scandalous?

Some people actually like kissing me, Axel.

” I booped him on the nose. “That’s why I have two boyfriends.

And Leo is a great kisser. But so is Jacob.

I like kissing both of them. Don’t tell Jacob that.

Crap. Where is Jacob? I need to tell him about my other boyfriend. ”

“I think we should go home,” Axel said.

“No, you’re not allowed in my room anymore. My boyfriends will be jealous.”

“We’re leaving.” He pulled me to the door.

“Axel!” Gigi yelled. “Where are you going?”

He ignored her.

“Axel, I need to talk to Jacob,” I said. “Tonight.”

“Trust me, you don’t. I’m saving you.”

“You kind of missed your shot to be my knight in shining armor, Axel. By the way, do you need your varsity jacket back for Gigi? Because I know you said I could keep it. But you have a serious girlfriend now. I actually thought you might be my kiss thief. Which is hilarious. Because you hate me, I think.”

He ignored me and pulled me out of the room.

And we ran straight into Jacob.
