Chapter 33 – Prince Charming #2

“Maybe we should hire some strippers,” Liam said, completely ending my train of thought.

RJ nodded. “Love it.”

“I’m down,” Jacob said.

“Jacob,” I said firmly. Was he really agreeing with his little cousins here?

“What?” He shrugged. “I’m single now.”

I groaned. “Absolutely not,” I said. All of us planning this thing together was bound to be a disaster. But at least Sophie was smiling. And I had a few weeks to go over every last detail to make sure we didn’t get caught.

I stared around at my friends. My mom was right. It would still always be the four of us. Well, the six of us. It’s just that now Axel and I didn’t need to hurt.

“Enjoying my sloppy seconds?” Gigi said as her and her minions stopped next to our group.

“Gigi,” Axel said firmly. “We both know we didn’t do anything past kissing. Stop spreading rumors. And if you mess with my fiancée you mess with me. Got it?”

Gigi opened her mouth and closed it again as she stared at my ring. It looked like she wanted to scream. Instead she lasered her eyes on me. “You’ll always know I kissed him first, though.” And with that she stormed off.

She had kissed him on the first day of school. Before Axel had started being my kiss thief.

“You’ll always be my last first kiss,” Axel whispered in my ear.

I’d take that one. But I felt a little guilty that he wasn’t my last first kiss. I’d kissed like...a lot of people since he pulled me into that closet. A whole kissing booth full of guys.

He lowered his eyebrows, realizing what I had at the same time.

“I’m sorry,” I quickly said. “About the kissing booth. And all the things after that. I was just trying to find you.”

“Sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs in order to find your person,” he said. “Like in all those movies you made me watch growing up.”

I laughed. “I guess I had to kiss a whole lot of frogs in order to find my Prince Charming.”

Jacob laughed.

I felt my cheeks grow hot. “Jacob excluded. He’s someone’s prince in a different story. A great prince. One of the best ones. Not even a little big froggy.”

Jacob smiled at me.

“Can we please stop talking about you making out with my friend,” Axel said.

I nodded. “Noted.”

Axel laughed and I stood on my tiptoes to kiss him.

My dad cleared his throat. “No kissing in the hallways.”

Gah! Dad! I pulled back. At least my dad hadn’t been here a few minutes ago when we were talking about the party we were going to throw.

“You kids don’t want to be late to class,” he said.

“Uncle James,” Sophie said. “What are you going to do with all your free time once the four of us are off in college?”

My dad looked at me. “Probably spending a lot of my time on campus.”

I laughed.

But my dad looked dead serious. More serious than he had ever looked when bringing up this whole stalker business.

“Class,” he said. “Now.”

“I need to grab my books,” I said.

My dad nodded and then walked off as I opened my locker.

“See you in class,” Sophie said. “I’ve had enough of a bad girl vibe for a while after the baby powder thing. I want to be early. Mr. Halifax definitely likes good girls.” She hurried off.

Liam shook his head. “She’s totally going to get him fired.”

“Do you think my dad will go ballistic when Sophie finally screws him?” RJ asked.

We all looked at each other and laughed.

Uncle Rob? Ballistic? Not possible.

“See you guys at lunch,” Jacob said. He turned to Axel. “You coming?”

They had their first class together.

“I’ll catch up in a minute,” Axel said.

Jacob nodded and he, Liam, and RJ walked off.

I grabbed the rest of my books and closed my locker.

“Your dad’s not really following us to college, is he?” Axel asked.

“He can’t,” I said. “Liam will still be going to school here. He’s just messing with my head for some reason.”

“I hope you’re right. I’m really looking forward to having you all to myself.”

I felt my cheeks flush. “Me too. But we should get to class. We have to do everything by the book to make sure we both get accepted to the University of New Castle. No more ditching. No more showing up drunk and high. Get to class.” I lightly slapped Axel’s butt.

He laughed and I hurried off.

But I only made it a few steps before he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the janitor’s closet. Just like old times.

The smell of lemon scented cleaning supplies did something to me after the first time we’d been in here together.

“I only ditched when the pain was too much to bear,” Axel whispered in the darkness. He cupped the side of my face. His thumb brushing along my cheek bone.

“The pain?”

“Of you not being mine.”

Oh, Axel. “I didn’t know that.”

“All the soup in the world can’t fix a broken heart. But I did appreciate it.”

I smiled. But I realized he couldn’t see it in the darkness. “And I will confess that there is no such thing as friendship soup. I sent you that soup because I was so unrequitedly in love with you.”

“It was never unrequited, baby.”

“I know that now.” I put my hand on his chest. “But we really need to get to class, Axel. I’m serious about being good the rest of the year.”

“But it’s so much more fun to be bad, Bonnie.”

I laughed. “You are so much trouble, Clyde.”

“Baby, I saw the way you pressed your thighs together when Sophie was talking about fucking the mascot.”

“I didn’t...”

“You did. And I know exactly what first I want to steal next.” He grabbed my ass, lifting my legs around his waist. He stepped forward and slammed my back against the wall.

God.

I wrapped my thighs tighter around him. “What first?”

“The first time fucking my fiancée in the janitor’s closet.”

“That is very specific.” I heard the rip of foil. “Our life is going to be full of a lot of firsts...” My words turned into a moan as he slid my thong to the side.

“That’s the plan.” His fingers brushed against my wetness. “I guess the idea of feathers does something to you too.”

I shook my head. “No. Just the idea of you.”

Instead of responding, he thrust into me hard.

My fingers dug into the back of his neck. All I could focus on was the feeling of him slamming into me harder. It was different than him making love to me in my bed. This was rough and primal. Like he couldn’t go a minute without wanting me.

He lifted my hands from his neck, slamming the backs of my hands against the wall. The way he used to do when he was my kiss thief.

God, I loved every side of him. And I wanted him to know it.

I pulled one of my hands free and slid my fingers into his hair, guiding his face down to mine. “I love you, Axel Stevens,” I whispered against his lips.

He slammed into me again. “I love you, Scarlett Stevens.”

Hearing him use his last name on me did something to me. I clenched around him.

He groaned and his fingers tightened on my hips.

I reached out to steady myself and accidentally knocked over a bottle of something.

The fake lemon scent was even more prevalent. This smell was always going to turn me on now. I buried my face in the side of Axel’s neck. But not as much as the smell of him.

His expensive cologne was all over my sheets. All over his varsity jacket around my shoulders. All over me.

I was his.

And he was mine.

The way it was always meant to be.
