Chapter 27

TWENTY-SEVEN

Milo

A fog of confusion swirled in my head, but the throbbing ache irritated me more. I remembered crashing the Porsche and then walking in the woods until I came upon the cabin.

What am I missing?

I didn’t recall the circumstances that brought me here, but I couldn’t control the obsession to get to Sable. Now that I was with her, a calming sensation surrounded me.

“You must have hit your head pretty hard.” She washed out my cut and put a bandage over it. “Can I make you some tea?”

“Don’t leave me.” I reached for her hand. “I’m still cold.”

I had stripped naked and covered myself in a blanket that I’d found draped over the sofa before she tended to my injury.

“Let’s get closer to the fire.” She guided me onto the floor and settled in next to me. I opened the blanket for her to get under and put my arm around her, stealing her body heat.

“I’m not clear on all the details.” I rubbed my temple. “I remember swerving off the road. It was freezing out there and my feet were numb.”

“That must have been awful.”

“I didn’t care.” I leaned against the sofa, bringing her with me. “I just repeated your name so that I had something to guide me through the storm.”

“You’re so lucky you found the cabin.” She rested her head on my shoulder. “You could have gotten lost out there and froze to death.”

“I can’t imagine why I would have taken the Porsche out in this weather or why I would have come here without any guards.” That seemed reckless even for me. “I’m not forgetting if someone is after us, right?”

“Oh, I don’t…” She shrugged. “Not that I know of.”

I thought hard because I probably wouldn’t have shared the details if I were under attack. I didn’t have any cell service here, so if my guys were looking for me, they wouldn’t be able to get to me. I hoped I shared my location with them before I ventured out into the woods during a storm.

Why the fuck would I do that?

“I remember being at the dealership. I had a conversation with Lucas and Ax. I feel like Ax said he couldn’t find you but…” I shook my aching head, trying not to shift my eyes to the side because it made me dizzy.

“Don’t overexert your brain.” She ran her hand along my chest. “We can talk about it later.”

“We were meeting here, right?” Where the hell is here? I had no idea what this place was. It was too basic to be a safe house. Where were my guards? “You’re right, I need to rest my mind.”

“I don’t think you should fall asleep.”

“I’ve had concussions before.” I stroked her hair. “The hardest part is staying awake.”

“You’re shaking.” She closed the tiny space between us. “What can I do?”

“This.” I wrapped my arms around her and lowered my lips to hers, kissing her softly. “I don’t care how I got here, I’m just glad I did.”

“Me too.” She raised her hands when I tugged at the bottom of her pink sweatshirt.

“I read somewhere that when a person’s body falls below a certain temperature, another person should strip to keep them warm.”

“Is your body at that point?” She lifted her hips so I could remove her sweatpants and panties.

“Why risk it?” I pushed her onto the floor. “I want to be close to you.”

When our mouths connected, my head stopped aching and my body didn’t shake from the cold. Being with her, experiencing her naked flesh against mine, rejuvenated me. Kissing my way down her neck, I gripped her thigh and feasted on her breasts.

Her vanilla body wash lingered on my tongue, stimulating me to taste all of her. Once I settled between her thighs, she spread her legs for me, exposing her most intimate area. The one that I had claimed for myself.

Taking my time, I licked her folds and savored her juices on my lips. My cock begged for release, but I needed to indulge in her. Lifting her leg, I rested her calf on my shoulder and plunged my tongue deeper into her pussy.

“Milo.” She jolted her pelvis into my face as she clawed at the soft throw rug beneath us. “You’re going to make me come.”

I pushed my fingers inside her, gliding them in sync with my tongue. Her muscles twitched and tensed against me as she unraveled under my touch.

Before she had time to recover, I slithered up her smooth body, biting her nipple as I gripped my cock and drove it inside her.

She raised her hips, meeting me with an eager hunger, taking all of me in a single thrust. The intimacy stripped me to my core. I was laid out raw and exposed for her. I wanted her to see all of me through her electrifying gaze.

“You know who I am and you’re here anyway.” I kissed her. “Why?”

“You know why,” she whispered against my lips. “Tell me you feel it.”

“I feel you.” My head swirled but not from the injury. She had taken hold of me in a way I had never let anyone before. I was hers. “Only you.”

I grabbed her thighs and folded them at the knees, pushing her into the floor as I slammed into her at a furious pace. She scratched at my back, writhing beneath me. My balls slapped against her, the sound echoing through the room.

“Mmm…” she moaned. “I…”

When she clenched around me, I couldn’t hold on any longer. “Fuck, baby.” I pushed her knees against her shoulders and thrust into her until I poured everything I had into her. “Sable.”

Her labored breaths slowed, but her body shook with the aftershocks of her climax. “Milo, I’m…”

“Overstimulated.” I smirked. “Let me help with that. ”

I kissed her neck, trailing my mouth to her breasts, swirling my tongue around her nipples.

“That’s not helping.” She ran her hand along my back. “It’s making me want more.”

“Hmm…” I brushed my lips across her stomach until I was positioned between her legs. “Let me clean you up while you settle down.”

“What?” She propped herself up and peered down at me. “You’re going to…”

“Shh.” I spread her open and ran my tongue along her clit, lapping our mingled arousal.

“Oh.” She dropped onto her back, moving her hips in slow circles as I scooped my come from inside her.

Crawling up her body, I pinned her with my weight and took her wrists in my hands, holding them above her head.

“Taste us.” I slid my tongue between her lips, massaging it against hers.

“Hitting your head made you dirtier.” She licked my lips. “I like it.”

“I’ve always been dirty, Sexy Sable.” I released her hands and kissed her long and hard, making her gasp for air when I pulled back. “I’ve just been going easy on you.”

“Don’t go easy on me anymore.” She took my face between her hands. “I want you to unleash every dark and dirty thought you have on me.”

“I love you.” Those words had to be the most meaningful confession I had ever made, but they were truer than anything I had ever spoken.

“I love you too.” She gently kissed me. “I’ll do anything for you.”

I peered into her eyes when more than just the clarity of the moment came rushing back to my senses. What the fuck? I shook my head, trying to stop the memory, but it was too loud for me to block.

“I can’t let you hurt Chance.” The certainty in her voice enraged me. After everything I had done for her, this was how she wanted to play this? “If anything happens to him because of you, I’ll never forgive you.”

“I guess we’re at an impasse.” Didn’t I mean something to her? “You have a choice to make.”

“We were fighting.” I rolled off her and sat up, processing as the memories of earlier in the day pushed to the surface. “We argued about Chance.”

“We did.” She got up on her knees and moved behind me. “You were being unreasonable, and I…”

“I wasn’t supposed to meet you here.” Ah, fuck. “Why did you let me think I was meeting you here?”

“You were hurt and I didn’t want to overwhelm you.”

“So you let me believe everything was fine between us?” I got up off the floor and grabbed my pants. “I came after you. That’s why I was so determined to get to you.”

She tugged her sweatshirt over her head as I frantically pulled my damp pants over my legs. When I looked up, she had her sweatpants on. Where did she get those clothes? How long had she plotted to run from me?

“Milo.” She moved toward me. “You have to let me explain.”

“Whose cabin is this?”

“It belongs to Romeo, but it’s not what you think.”

“It can’t be any worse than what I think.” I glared at her. “You left me and sought protection from my enemy, and then when I came after you… shit, you let me fuck you. What’s wrong with you?”

“No, that’s not what happened.” She reached for me. “Chance, he…”

“I don’t want fucking excuses!”

I tugged out of her grasp and backed away, holding my hand up as a warning for her to stay away from me. The rage physically burned my insides. Her betrayal cut far deeper than any pain my enemies could inflict on me. But she should be prepared, because my revenge would be swift and lethal.

“You’re always going to choose Chance over me.”
