Chapter 35
Now is not the time to think about anal
Ariana
L uca’s first fight is tomorrow night. We haven’t defined this thing between us, but I want to support him. Even if I’m not officially his girlfriend…
But I’m not going. We all decided Lil and I would stay home. Our babysitter needs to focus on not getting his ass kicked, and he has a hard time thinking of himself as being off duty.
Dad and Ford are going. And they’ll be gone for hours. Hours in which Parker will be very focused on keeping track of them. It’s been too long since we took Bruce out to play, and I’m getting antsy. I’ve hardly driven anywhere all week. Between that and being freaking horny all the goddamn time, I need to release some tension somewhere. Taking care of things myself in the shower isn’t cutting it. Believe me, I’ve tried. A lot. I’m ready to move things forward with Luca, but I think he’s holding back for some reason.
Apparently, I feel the need to torture myself tonight. After I take a non-orgasmic shower and Lil jumps in for her turn, I knock on Luca’s door. He swings it open, looking surprised to see me. His hair is wet, and he’s wearing gray sweatpants. Fuck. No girl can resist that. It’s law. It’s science. I grab the back of his head and pull his lips to mine. His hands go to my waist but quickly drop to cup my ass cheeks through my pajama shorts. He lifts me up, holding me against his body as he deepens the kiss. His cock hardens, pressing into my stomach, and my panties are immediately drenched.
When we break apart, he holds me there still. “I just wanted to say good luck tomorrow, Beefcake,” I whisper, toying with the hair at the nape of his neck. I’m rewarded with a huge grin. The kind where his dimples come out to play.
“If that’s how you wish me good luck, I’ll fight every damn night of the week. Do I get another one if I win?”
“You’ll get one even if you lose. Now, put me down so you can get some sleep.”
That grin falls into a playful frown. “If I have to.” He sets me on my feet and I untangle my arms from around his neck.
“Goodnight, Luca.”
He lightly kisses me one more time before letting me go. “Goodnight, baby.”
I love when he calls me that.
My nerves are shot before I finish my first cup of coffee on Friday morning. I’ve never been this stressed out about someone I love going off to do something dangerous. In comparison to the shit Dad and Ford do, fighting in an illegal but regulated and organized ring is relatively safe, even if it is shady.
While waiting for a fresh pot to brew, I reach for the locket, but it’s not there. Fuck. I had to give it to Lil earlier because it turns out she was right and I did, in fact, order ten thousand eggplant emoji stickers last time we got drunk. That was fun to explain to Dad when Stew brought them up to the house from the front gate. Especially since they have our last name in calligraphy down the side like a damn dick tattoo. The thought of slapping them on everything in and around Vegas cheers me up a little, but only slightly. I tug on one of my bracelets but it’s not the same. Sometimes, nothing works except sliding the locket back and forth on the chain. I’m going to have to ask for it back. Lil will hand it over without bitching because she’s the best kind of best friend, but I fucking hate doing it. I try all nine bracelets I’m currently wearing but it’s no use.
With a groan, I push away from the counter, fix each of us a cup, and prepare to beg.
I don’t even get all the words out before Lil’s unwrapping the chain from her wrist. “Hey, can I borrow that purse that looks like a cupcake?” she asks as I’m securing it around mine.
“Like I’m gonna say no right now?”
“Oh, feel free to, that’s not your payment.” She wags her eyebrows with a wicked smirk on her face. “I watched a new tutorial while you were downstairs.”
“Fuck.” Makeup. Ugh. She cackles as I leave to go search for the cupcake purse in my closet. Half an hour later, she finds me there cleaning and helps me organize that bitch. Then she plays DJ and taster while I bake some cookies I think Luca will like.
Sometime between lunch and dinner, my frustration finally snaps.
“We’re sneaking out tonight, Lil,” I say after checking to make sure we’re still alone.
“Ooooh, we haven’t done that in forever.” Lil’s eyes sparkle as she claps her hands together.
“I know. And last time we did it, we got caught and grounded for a month. Which is why we came up with the whole theater thing. But there’s no way that’s going to work with Luca here. He’s always up our asses.”
Lil snorts, “It’s not your ass he wants to be up… well, actually probably there, too… eventually.”
“Jesus Christ, Lil!” My eyes go painfully wide.
“It’s true! Don’t pretend you don’t know it, and definitely don’t pretend you don’t want it, too.”
“That’s a lot of don’ts in one sentence.” I chew on my bottom lip, unable to stop a few scenarios from playing out in my head.
“See? You can’t deny it.”
“Oh, shut up. We have some planning to do.”
