Chapter Four
The Cabin
On The Rez
Monday Morning
Truth be told, Uriel wanted to grab a few things, and he also wanted to give Rayna a heads-up that he was heading out. This would be his first away trip since they’d begun dating, and he wasn’t sure how she was going to take it.
While they might be back each night, he knew the chances were that they wouldn’t. Elizabeth worked around the clock, and away trips were part of his life.
A big part of him was worried that his job might get in the way of their newly budding relationship, but he had to trust the woman he was sleeping with, right?
For the last two weeks, he’d been staying at her place, and they were building something great.
Caspian was crazy about her, and he wanted to make sure they kept growing.
So, he was going to check-in.
Today was Rayna’s day off, and they had been planning on hanging out and taking a hike, but that just wasn’t happening.
It figured.
When he arrived at the cabin, she was just getting up. He knew that once he told her he was heading out, that would pretty much ruin their day.
His fingers were crossed that she’d take it well.
Heading into the bedroom they shared, he found her reading in bed.
When she looked up, she looked surprised.
“I thought it would be my father. I heard the car in the driveway. Why are you home?” she asked. “Are we going to spend the day doing things earlier? Count me in,” she said, smiling up at him.
OOF.
Well, here came the disappointment.
“Elizabeth got a case in Holladay. We’re heading out. I’m going to be late tonight, or I might not be back. We might grab hotel rooms, but I won’t know until we have to make that decision. I wanted to make sure you knew where I was.”
She saw the nerves.
No, she heard them.
“I-I hope that’s okay.”
She stopped that then and there.
With Caspian, she had to make sure he knew definitively that she wasn’t going to be upset over something like that.
“Cas, I’m good. I hate that you might not be sleeping in our bed, but I can live a few nights without you if you have to stay in Holladay. It’s only forty-five minutes away. If you need me, call me. You know I don’t mind sneaking into a hotel room to have my wicked way with you.”
That made him smile.
Truth be told, he’d never met a woman like her. Rayna was a spitfire, but she was also super protective of him and his heart. She could read him, and understand without him having to go there.
It was refreshing.
And already, he loved her so damn much.
“So you’re not upset?” he asked, wanting to make sure.
She laughed.
“I worked third shift last week, and you didn’t get upset. Why would I be upset that you’re working late? That’s your job. I’m just glad that Elizabeth stayed here, and you get to keep working and spending time with me. We’ll be fine.”
He relaxed.
“Thank you for that.”
She reassured him as she put her book down, and got out of bed.
“I’ll never be upset that you have to work, Cas. I will be upset if you’re not safe while you work. I’ll worry about you, but I’m not going to have an argument about something that’s out of our control. We both have jobs.”
Oh, he would be safe.
He now had someone to come home to, and that made all the difference in the world.
When she kissed him, his brain got foggy. Yeah, he was definitely coming home.
As she slowly broke the kiss, he wanted to stay home in the worst way, but he knew that wasn’t possible.
She was curious.
“How much time do you have?” she asked, wanting to send him off the right way. That morning, he’d been out of bed super early, and they’d not gotten to spend any time together.
Now, they had time.
He looked at his watch.
“If you make it fast, no one will miss me,” he said, as her hands were already on his ass.
That made him giddy.
To be honest.
The way she felt for him was a big-ass miracle, and he knew it. For some reason, she wanted him.
“Well, then, let’s make this quick, Caspian,” she said, winking at him.
Throwing her braid over her shoulder, she left nothing to the imagination, and that was exactly how he liked her.
“Get naked, Marine. I’ve got some work to do, and in a time limit.”
Oh, hell, yeah!
Caspian didn’t hold back.
He dropped his pants and began pulling off his clothing as quickly as possible. He’d showered at the cabin, but now, he was more than willing to get sweaty all over again.
With.
Her.
As she did the same, his heart was racing in his chest, and he knew that he was the luckiest Marine on the planet. Somehow, he found the perfect woman for him.
She had no problem with his penchant for Vegan food, and she didn’t mind him standing on his head in the morning. More often than not, it got him back into bed, and in her.
And he loved that.
Because he loved the way her lips felt against his, as he was getting naked, he captured her mouth, and kissed her.
That tangle of tongues said it all. This was definitely the path he was meant to be on.
The kiss was nuclear.
He could feel her hands everywhere as they did battle in a steamy kiss.
Oh, and all rational thoughts disappeared.
It was just the two of them.
The second they were both naked, she broke the kiss, and stared up into his eyes.
“Mr. Carter, your body makes me giddy,” she admitted, as she ran her fingers down his abs, right to his erection. Oh, and he was already rock hard, and needing her.
The whole time, it felt like she was trying to crawl into his body by way of his mouth.
“Well, by all means, Rayna, play on it,” he said.
And it was all he got out.
Rayna jumped, and he fell backward. As she rode his body to the mattress, Caspian was in his glory. This beautiful woman liked him and his body.
He could be himself.
“Hello, very naked man in our bed,” she said, crawling up his torso to reach more of him. Caspian was big, and she liked how he felt beneath her body.
He swallowed, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.
Since he had to work in a different area, Rayna wanted to send him off with one thing on his mind.
HER.
And she wanted him excited to come home again. God knew she’d be just as giddy.
They had begun building something, and she was attached to him.
How could she not be?
The man’s dick…
It was spectacular.
In all honesty, she couldn’t wait to have him walk back through the door after he was away. Return home sex was going to be nuclear too.
Then again, all sex was hot with Caspian. His body was definitely something she’d always want to crawl all over.
She wasn’t crazy.
Rayna wanted him.
“Well, hello, very sexy woman. To what do I owe this amazing pleasure?” he asked, grinning wickedly.
Caspian never wanted this to end.
EVER.
If he could keep her in his life, he was going to do just that. All he had to hope was they stayed in Damascus long enough for him to ensure she was his.
Forever.
At two weeks, he didn’t want to freak her out, or scare her away, so he was trying to play it cool.
And it wasn’t easy.
Not.
At.
All.
“You have a truly spectacular dick,” she admitted. “Oh, and I’m about to enjoy it.”
Yeah, that gave him chills.
The way she said that made his heart race, and his whole body react. She sounded hungry—and for him.
Before he could say anything else, Rayna took what she wanted from him.
She didn’t hold back.
Wrapping her fingers around his dick, she proved who was driving this pleasure bus off of the cliff.
HER.
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Please,” he muttered.
Oh, she gave him exactly what he wanted.
Her.
Before she began torturing him, she was honest.
“Wait until you get back from your work trip, Caspian. I’m going to blow your mind,” she admitted.
He swallowed.
“Yes, please?” he asked.
That made her laugh. Someone had come out of his shell the last two weeks, and he was more comfortable than he had been with her.
She hoped so.
Rayna was about to get up and comfortable in his business, too.
She began enjoying his body, even as she had his dick in a death grip.
As she teased her way across his truly defined and masculine frame, Caspian was in overload.
“Don’t tease. You know what I need,” he admitted, making her laugh.
“Oh, I know, Caspian. I’m holding your dick, and you’re rock hard.
Yes, yes, he was.
There was never enough of her, and she was already his addiction.
“Hurry. Work,” he muttered, finally getting words out as she was leaving wet, open-mouthed kisses across his chest. Caspian wished they had all day, but he’d literally come home to quickly pack and get back to the FBI building.
God.
She wished he had more time.
There was nothing more Rayna liked than rocking this man’s world.
Because he had a point, and work was looming, Rayna did as he had requested, moving lower, leaving a trail of kisses across his shaking body.
The whole time, she knew she was in control.
It was time to get them both off so that they could have a good day.
And she would.
Being with this man made her happy, despite how irritated it made her father. Lance needed to back his ass off of her love life, since she was a grown woman.
His dirty looks and lowkey comments were only going to bite him in the ass at some point, because she was not letting this man go.
If he went back to DC, she was going with him.
That was the bottom line.
She wasn’t letting Caspian Carter walk away so they could have a long-distance relationship. She’d make sure she followed to keep this magic going.
There was no doubt in her mind that he was her one and only.
This was her one-day husband.
She’d bet on it.
“Caspian,” she whispered, making him squirm as she teased and tormented him with warm breath on his flesh. “I’m going to miss you.”
He didn’t speak.
Why?
Because he simply didn’t have the words.
This Native woman had captivated him, and stolen his heart. At some point, he was going to have to be honest with her.
He was in love.
Once he figured out what the Blackhawks were planning on doing, he’d be able to take the next step. If they were here for years, he was going to make his move.
As in marriage.
