Chapter Twenty-Seven #3

Her breasts pressed against his chest, her hands traveling all over his back.

His mind was too loud, too bright, too much—completely consumed by her.

His hands pushed into her bottom, supporting her weight. He widened his stance, breaking the kissing thread. “Are you feeling okay? Here, in water?”

Her legs slid down the back of his thighs as she stood on a rock beneath them. She pressed a finger to his bottom lip, a wistful expression framing her face. “I’m more than okay. I beat my biggest fear, and you’re the one who helped me.”

His hands found her breasts, eliciting a barely audible gasp from Jackie as he cupped them both. “You didn’t need me for it. But I’m very glad I’m here.”

She swallowed, her pulse skittering down her neck. “Who knew all it took was skinny-dipping.”

Their hip bones connected as he stepped between her legs. “We should’ve done it a long time ago.”

Her breath warmed his cheek. “Maybe it wouldn’t have worked so well before. Maybe it wouldn’t have been a big enough incentive.”

His fingers found her nipple, pinching it the way she liked. “Should I be insulted?” His other hand slid between her legs. He smirked as he felt her knees buckle underneath her.

“Are you?” she whispered against his skin.

His hard cock drove into the inside of her thigh. “Does it feel like I’m insulted?”

Arching her throat to allow him better access, Jackie heaved a sound somewhere between a gasp and a moan.

It was like a switch tripped in his brain, muting the world. There was only them—this moment and pleasuring her was all that counted right then.

With her uneven breathing stoking his desire, Mitch repositioned himself, his fingers finding her clit right away like the map to her body was programmed into his essence.

A small sound escaped her throat. Her fingernails dug into his ass.

They stumbled, balancing on the rock as their lips devoured each other.

Jackie bucked against him, trembling beneath his caress. “I need you inside me, now.”

His smirk left a wet imprint over her left breast. “So bossy.”

“You like it, and you know it.”

He groaned, his teeth grazing the surface of her nipple. Of course he liked it. Though he highly doubted there was anything about Jackie he could ever dislike.

Supporting her weight with his firm hands, Mitch let her guide him to her center. He entered her and they both stilled, their foreheads touching, their breaths mixing.

“How do you want me, love? Slow and tender …” He moved within her and her teeth clamped her bottom lip. “Or rough and fast?” He thrust again, quickening his pace this time.

The sound Jackie made scared off a couple of small birds sitting on a branch of a nearby sycamore tree.

Mitch bit back a smile, stilling his movements. “I think I got my answer, but I still want you to say it.”

She recovered her breath, glaring at him. “One day … One day I’ll get back at you for all this teasing.”

He chuckled, lowering his mouth to her soft, delicious neck. “You’re the one who taught me all this.” He dragged his tongue up the column of her throat. “Answer the question, Jackie.”

She threw her head back. “You’re stealing all my tricks.”

His teeth nipped the skin below her jaw.

She moaned. “You’re torturing me, Mitch from Portland.”

“Answer the question and we’ll keep going.”

“I could snap your dick in half, you know that?”

He grinned. “Ah, but you enjoy it way too much. What would we do, then?”

She huffed. “Good point.” Her chest rose and fell with a deep breath. “I was going to say slow and tender, but now you’ve worked me up so much that if I don’t come, and fast, I’m going to explode. So, rough and fast. Please.”

He took her lip between his teeth, biting on it. “See, wasn’t so hard now, was it?”

Jackie didn’t get a chance to respond as he captured her lips in a searing kiss, tension flaring through his veins. The way he wanted her, always …

It was the worst way; it was the best way. There was nothing that could compare to the feeling of their bodies and souls joining together.

He drove into her core, rough and fast, as promised. With every thrust, her moans grew louder, melting his own restraint note by note.

The orgasm washed over him right after she came, her body softening around him.

For a long moment after, neither of them said anything—they just breathed, still connected, still one. Whenever they came undone, it was like a new stitch was added to the tapestry of their love, weaving their souls into a masterpiece.

A shrill sound pierced the air, morphing into a series of high-pitched piping notes.

Their heads snapped up.

Mitch blinked, unsure if he was hallucinating. “Are these—?”

“Bald eagles,” Jackie whispered with reverence. “How …”

The rest of her question was drowned in the eagles’ call as their talons linked, wings and bodies flapping and tumbling through the air, in a cartwheel display.

Mitch’s hold tightened on her waist as they watched the rare sight of two magnificent birds mating for life.

As if Jackie could read his mind, she put her head on his shoulder, not taking her eyes off the sky. “Like we are,” she whispered.
