Epilogue

RYA

The sound of tiny, frantic footsteps echoing across the hardwood floor of our custom-built home in the Colorado foothills is a sound I never thought I’d hear in my life. Growing up with a flighty, solitary lifestyle, I assumed my future would be just me and a glowing computer monitor.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

The years following the Shadow Syndicate threat were a whirlwind of rebuilding. We traded the stark anonymity of safe houses for a life of shared purpose, and Aegis Security became more than just a firm—it became the family we’d both been missing.

Every holiday has been a riotous, loud affair at the compound, with Kai and Annika always bringing the chaos, and Atlas proving that even the most stoic warriors could be reduced to mush by our growing brood.

Then there was the wedding. It wasn't the small, quiet affair I’d always envisioned. Miller had insisted on a ceremony that felt as permanent as the brand he’d seared onto my heart. We were married in a grove of aspens, with the entire Aegis team standing watch not as bodyguards, but as brothers.

Seeing Miller—my rough, tactical, fiercely protective Miller—standing at the altar with tears in his eyes, I knew my life of solitude was officially, irrevocably over.

He wasn't just my protector; he was my partner, my anchor, and the man who taught me that family wasn't something you were born into, but something you fought to build.

I look up from my triple-monitor command station in our home office—a tech-haven that Miller built for me, fully equipped with military-grade encryption and satellite uplinks. Silhouetted in the doorway is my absolute world.

Miller is standing there, looking as massive, heavily muscled, and ruggedly handsome as the day he threw me over his shoulder at the library.

But right now, the terrifying ex-military brute is completely helpless, holding our four-month-old daughter, Chloe, against his massive chest while our chubby, curly-haired toddler, Leo, tugs ruthlessly on the hem of his cargo pants.

"Help," Miller begs, his sharp blue eyes completely softened with a look of pure adoration as he looks at me. "Leo found the master override switch for the patio fountains again. I think he inherited your hacker genes."

I burst out laughing, adjusting my glasses as I stand up from my chair.

I walk over to my little family, my heart swelling so much it feels like it might burst from my chest. Miller doesn't hesitate for a single second; even with both arms full of babies, he leans down and captures my lips in a deep, possessive kiss that still sends a shiver right down my spine.

Over the last few years, we’ve mostly taken over the digital defense network for Aegis Security, establishing absolute tech dominance over every threat that dares cross our paths.

But our greatest achievement is right here in this room.

"I told you he was smart, Daddy," I tease, rubbing my hand over Miller’s broad chest, feeling the steady, rhythmic beat of the heart he gave to me completely.

Miller grunts, a low, rumbling sound of pure, masculine satisfaction as he wraps a massive hand around my waist, pulling my curves tight against his side.

"He’s smart because he takes after his beautiful mother.

And we're going to need a lot more bedrooms, Rya.

Because I'm nowhere near done filling this house with our babies. "

I smile up at my over-the-top, fiercely protective husband, knowing with absolute certainty that my secrets, my heart, and our future are secured forever.
