Chapter 28

T hey sipped their wine and sat companionably next to each other. His landscaping was beautiful, and birds flew here and there, serenading them.
"Your gardens are gorgeous."
He chuckled. "Earlier I was thinking I don't spend enough time out here. I paid to have it all done, then forgot about it."
"That's the downside to owning a business."
He turned to her. "And living alone."
"Yeah." Since Logan took up with Sierra, he wasn't around much, and she didn't sit outside and enjoy her gardens nearly as much as she used to.
She chuckled, "I sure did have the wrong opinion of you at first."
He grinned. "I think I had the wrong opinion of you, too."
She finished her glass of wine and set the empty glass on the table between them.
He asked, "Would you like another?"
She leaned forward and toward him. She glanced around the area and saw how secluded the gardens were, so she stood up and stood in front of him. She climbed on his lap, facing him. Her knees were on either side of his thighs. She was able to look into his eyes, which wasn't a hardship at all. She saw him swallow a few times. His eyes never looked away from hers. His gaze was intent as he stared into hers. His hands slid up under his t-shirt, the t-shirt she wore and firmly grabbed her ass. He scooted her in so that they met in just the perfect spot. She could feel his quickly hardening cock. And it felt great. She squirmed around on top of him, feeling him grow harder. She bit her bottom lip as she stared at him. She hadn't felt so wanton in years. She practically attacked him when she walked into his house earlier today. Here she was, being the sexual aggressor once again. But it felt wonderful to feel wanted. She could tell by looking at him he wanted her. She could tell by the way he touched her that he wanted her. And she wanted him.
She wanted him badly. She tucked her hands under his t-shirt and slid them up his ribs, pulling the t-shirt up. He lifted his arms to help her tug his shirt off; then, he did the same with hers. She hadn't put a bra on. All she had on were her little white lace panties. He bit his lip and stared at her breasts. His hands kneaded them one at a time. His tongue licked them in turn and suckled them in; then his thumbs played with the hard nipple he'd created. She closed her eyes and enjoyed him feeling her. Playing with her body. Enjoying her body.
His hands were work roughened. His fingers were firm, but he was gentle with her. She ground against him a few times, making sure he was still hard. Nothing to worry about there. He lifted hips, and she moaned as his hardness hit her clit in the best way possible. He scooted his shorts and underwear down, tugged them where they were pressed tightly together, and let them fall around his ankles. His cock was now nestled warm and hard against her clit.
His hands wrapped back around her, from behind. His firm fingers pulled her underwear to the side, baring her entrance. He lifted her slightly and slipped his dick inside of her.
It was sexy.
He gazed into her eyes, a sexy grin on his face. "Ride me, Margo."
She did without hesitation.
She moved herself up and down on him. His hands gripped her ass and helped her move. When he was ready to go faster, he urged her on. And unfortunately, she knew she wasn't going to be able to last very long. At this angle, every time she dropped down, her clit was firmly excited.
She panted hard as her need grew. He pushed his hips up higher. Just that small little bit allowed him to enter her further. And that was it. She tipped over the edge, and cried out his name as she came. He continued to move her hips quickly. Soon after, he groaned as his orgasm reached its peak.
That was fucking great. She wanted to do that again and again. With him. Only Jace.
They ended their night in his bed. He wrapped her in his arms. She lay on her left side with her right leg draped over his body. She fell asleep quickly.
The next morning, she woke to his even steady breathing. She lay still for a moment, listening to him and the sounds of the house. It was peaceful here; his breathing was calming.
He sighed heavily and tightened his arm around her. He kissed the top of her head and hugged her tightly. "Did you sleep well?"
She squeezed him, kissed his chest a couple of times, and sat up. She turned to look down at him. "I did. Did you?"
He stretched. "I haven't slept that well in a long time."
"Me either." She shook her head. "Weird, isn't it? How being with someone special changes so much in your life?"
"Yep, weird. Also, fantastic."
She smiled. "Yes, it is fantastic."
She gathered her clothes that were tossed on a chair in the corner where she'd left them yesterday. She stepped into the opulent bathroom inside his bedroom. She dressed quickly, finger-combed her hair into a bit of semblance, and rinsed her mouth. When she popped out of the bathroom, she said, "I hate to do this, but I have to go. You have a closing at ten o'clock this morning. I have to go home and talk to Carley. We're going to go to the office and gather our paperwork for your closing. I'll see you at the title company."
He twisted his tall, lanky self out of bed and stalked toward her slowly. He wrapped her head in his hands and looked down into her eyes for a long time.
"I'll be there."
He kissed her lips a few times, then stepped back.
She smiled and stepped from the room. She sighed as she descended the staircase. Maybe tonight he'd give her a tour of the whole house. She'd seen very little of it, but she'd love to see all he'd done with it.
Arriving home, she slipped in directly from the garage, and through the kitchen door. Carley waited for her at the kitchen table, a big grin on her face.
"Did you already eat breakfast?"
Margo shook her head no. Her cheeks heated. She felt like a teenager caught sneaking in far too late. She could feel the heat in her ears.
Carley smiled. "You look beautiful, Margo. Happy."
"Thank you. I feel happy. Isn't that weird?"
"No, of course it's not weird. Why would it be weird?"
"Well, when you think about it, three weeks ago I was sitting in the hospital while my husband was dying."
"Right and in those three weeks, you found out what a shithead he was, and you realized that you hadn't had a marriage in a long time. You are so ready for a decent relationship. Is it a decent relationship for you?"
She swallowed a big knot in her throat and looked at her sister through watery eyes. She smiled. "Oh my god. It's better than a decent relationship. It’s phenomenal. I guess I've been in denial for so long, and now it's like I've woken up or something. And he's good. He's so good, Carley. We had fun. Great conversation, and sometimes, we sat on his back deck quietly, and it wasn't uncomfortable. We both just sat and enjoyed not having to chatter."
Her sister smiled. "Awesome. I have breakfast here for you. Sit down. Have some coffee and then you can go shower and change and we'll go to the office."
Margo sat down at the counter, shaking her head. It was almost like they were kids again. Carley was always her mother figure when their mother wasn't around. She wanted Carley to be happy, too.
"Are you doing okay, Carley?"
"I am. I have some sad moments when I feel like I'm kind of the seventh wheel with your little group. Grace and Hanna are lovely. They're just lovely people to be around, and Quinn and Sid and Jace have all been very nice, but when we all go out like we did last night, I'm the odd man out. So that made me a little sad even though nobody made me feel that way. I'm just not used to being alone or single, but I'll get there."
Margo nodded. "There's a wonderful man out there for you Carley. I just know it."
She laughed. "Well, we'll see. I'm not in any big hurry right now."
Margo nodded. "Okay, well, that's fair."
She ate the breakfast Carley had ready for her. She cleaned up her dishes and showered. They drove to the office and gathered their paperwork. She checked with Addison to see if there were any new messages and was slightly relieved there weren't any. She liked sales messages, but she didn't want Sierra’s messages.
As they pulled up to the title company, she saw Jace pull up with his truck. He got out first and walked down the sidewalk toward her car. He waited at the front of her car, a grin on his face.
Margo grabbed her briefcase from the back of her SUV and sauntered up to him.
He leaned down and kissed her lips. Her cheeks heated, but she was excited to see him. He whispered, "Nice to see you."
It was sexy and low and almost like they had a secret.
She smiled. "Nice to see you too, handsome."
He turned to her sister. "Nice to see you, Carley. How are you doing?"
"I'm doing well, Jace. Thank you."
Margo strutted toward the big front door. "All right, let's go get you a thrift shop, shall we?"
