16. Chapter 16

TY

I was obsessed with my woman. There was no way around it.

Fully and completely obsessed with her as she grew our baby boy. I loved her so damn much, even if I didn’t get to see her in the classroom setting.

My new job was easy with a pay increase, so it was worth the switch, plus I’d already taken off a month for when the baby came this summer. I was ready and fucking ecstatic.

Today was the last exam she’d need before her due date. She was big and fucking beautiful.

“I know you want a big wedding, but with our start, it might be a good idea to keep it kind of quiet.” I looked at her while she rested on the crinkle paper while we waited for the doctor.

“I—” She sucked in a breath then blew it out between her teeth. With her shirt up, I noticed her entire stomach tightened up when she stopped talking.

“Everything okay?” I asked and stood as worry filtered into my blood.

“Just those practice ones. They grow stronger every day.” She gave me a half smile, and I noted the time as we kept talking about the possible size of our wedding.

The doctor entered ten minutes later as another one hit my beautiful woman.

“Did you pass that plug I mentioned?” Dr. Munthos asked, and Agatha nodded.

“Good.” She nodded and started taking measurements. Another contraction hit after eight minutes of talking and the time between was getting shorter, making me nervous and excited all together.

“Is it possible to check if she’s in active labor here?” I asked, and the two of them looked at me.

“Yes, if you want me to check?” Dr. Munthos asked, and Agatha shrugged.

“Uh sure.”

“Okay, take off everything from the waist down, and I’ll be right back.” She handed the paper cover to Agatha before retreating out the door.

“What’s wrong?” she asked as I helped her wiggle off her pants with her still lying down.

“I’ve been timing it, and I think the next one will hit in two minutes, if not less.” I folded her clothes and set them to the side then covered her up as the doctor tapped on the door.

Once she was inside, she lifted the drape and had Agatha let her legs fall to the side creating a diamond shape with her legs. What I never expected to see was the doctor’s eyes widen a second before some liquid hit the ground.

“Your water just broke, my dear. So we’ll be moving this party over to the hospital.” She smiled sweetly, and Agatha turned to look at me.

“How the hell did you…” She sucked in a breath as her stomach tightened around our son.

“I read the books, remember?” I’d studied that shit front to back, so I was aware of every possible way our baby could be born. I wanted to be prepped as best as I possibly could.

“Good thing, too,” the doctor muttered from the side as she slid the gloves off. “Get dressed. Do you want to drive or do you want an ambulance to pick you up?”

“We’re close enough that we can skip that medical bill.” Agatha winced around her words as she held my hand.

“You sure we can make it there?” I asked because it seemed to be coming too fast for the first child.

“Most first labors last a few hours. Even after the water breaks.” The doctor gave another soft smile that didn’t meet her eyes.

“Then I’ll drive like the devil.” I winked at my woman as she giggled. After helping her dress, she messaged Ru and Leo as I pushed the wheelchair out of the clinic.

In a few hours, our little one would grace the world and I was freaking ready for it.

“ C ongratulations.” The doctor handed over the scissors, and I cut the cord once we knew it was good. Then she set our little boy on Agatha’s chest.

“This isn’t what I thought it would turn into when we met at that bar.” I kissed the top of her head as she looked down at our boy.

“Not even in the slightest, but I’m glad to have you and him with me.” She looked up at me with a big smile and tears in her eyes.

“I love you.”

“I love you more.” She looked down. “And I love you, little Levi.”

I had everything and there was no way in hell I’d ever let it go or walk away from them. Ever!
