Epilogue
Shade
One month later.
“Baby, come here,” I say, taking her hand.
“Where are we going,” I ask, following him. “Beau, you know that I’m so happy. You’re amazing. Finally, after all the craziness we have endured, we are not moving forward.”
“Thank fuck the bastards have been silent. But let’s forget about that. I’m taking you outside. We’re having the MC BBQ, and I have a surprise,” I say.
“Oh, okay,” Roxy says, nodding.
We walk out of the clubhouse and into the patio area. The Brothers and their Old Lady’s are talking, drinking, and eating.
“Oh, everyone is here,” Roxy says, looking around.
“Do you want a beer and some food?” I ask, walking over to the food table.
“Yes, I’m hungry,” Roxy says, nodding.
We grab some food, and we go to sit with Viper and Roseanna.
“Oh my, Roseanna, you’re finally back,” Roxy yells.
Roxy places her plate on the table and hugs Roseanna.
“Hi, Roxy,” Roseanna says, hugging her.
“Let me get the beer,” I say, setting my plate on the table.
I walk away and grab the beers. I return, give Roxy and Roseanna a beer.
“Thanks, Beau,” She says, taking the beer.
She takes a drink and listens to Roseanna.
“Viper asked me to be his Old Lady,” Roseanna says, smiling.
“Oh, I’m so happy for you,” Roxy says.
Pixie walks over with the two dozen red roses. Killer hands me the mic, and I take the roses.
“Roxanna,” I say, standing next to her with the roses.
Everyone stops talking and turns to look at us.
“Oh my,” Roxy turns to look.
She pushes off the chair, clasping them. A soft blush spreads up her neck, wide-eyed. I hand her the roses, and she takes them, smiling.
I start singing to Roxy, praying that she likes this old song by Rod Temperton, keyboardist for the Heatwave band.
Always and forever
Each moment with you, yeah
Is just like a dream to me
That somehow came true, yeah
And I know tomorrow
Will still be the same
'Cause we got a life of love
That won't ever change
The girls, ah, shout out.
“Go Shade! You got this!”
I finish the song and look at Roxy, blushing, smiling, and teary-eyed.
“Roxy, I’m so happy that you’re back in my life. I thought that I had lost you, but I know now that I can’t lose what has always been mine.
I'm thrilled that you’re my Old Lady. But I know that your dream is to have a wedding, babies, and a house.
I promise to make your dreams come true and show you how much I love you every day. Roxy, will you marry me,” I say, falling onto one knee.
I hand Killer the mic, and take out the engagement ring from my Cut’s pocket. I hold it up and gaze into her teary eyes.
“Wow! Beau, I love you! Yes, yes! I will marry you,” Roxy says, nodding.
“Baby, you make me so happy,” I say, taking her hand.
I slide the ring onto her ring finger and pull her into my arms, kissing her deeply.
The Brothers and the Old Lady yell, clap, and yell out congratulations.
I pull away and cup her face, gazing into her eyes.
“I love you, always and forever.”
“Beau, I love you. Now and forever.”
