Chapter 34

“Wake up babe, we’ll be landing in an hour,” Slate murmured in Dakota’s ear.

Dakota, still half asleep, rolled over and smiled at his mate before snuggling against Slate’s chest and promptly fell back into his dream world.

Chuckling, Slate knew what would wake his mate up.

Reaching down, he grasped Dakota’s semi-hard cock, tugging at it until it lengthened.

His mate’s moan made him grin as he stroked the now turgid cock, using the pre-cum leaking from the tip as lubricant.

Keeping his hand rhythm slow and varied, Slate kept teasing his mate about things to come when he awoke.

Dakota’s moans grew louder and stronger; he finally rolled onto his back, eyes wide open, filled with need.

Slate then lowered his mouth onto his mate’s cock, swirling his tongue around it and into the slit, lapping up Dakota’s essence.

Holy fucking shit! What a way to wake up.

As soon as his cock was surrounded by Slate’s warm, wet mouth, Dakota’s hips jumped, thrusting more of his cock into his personal heaven.

When he felt hands stilling his hips, Dakota knew he was going to be tormented before being allowed to come.

His cock grew harder under the slow assault of his mate’s mouth, driving him to the edge but never over it.

Whimpering and crying out in need, he begged Slate to let him come.

Letting his mate’s cock slide from his mouth, Slate quickly sucked a finger, making it slick with his saliva.

Wrapping his lips around Dakota’s cock again, and pressing his wet finger on the nerves around his mate’s pucker, he drove him closer to his orgasm.

Not ready to let Dakota explode yet, Slate’s head movement slowed, but his lips tightened around his mate’s cock as he pressed hard with his finger until it broke through the tight muscles of Dakota’s pucker.

He was in hell—no, he was in heaven—Dakota wasn’t sure just where he was.

His body was on fire, his orgasm so close?he needed it so badly, yet his mate was keeping it from him.

Frantically, Dakota gripped the sheets, keening with need, his unfocused eyes wild with lust. He felt his mate’s finger jiggling his prostate, then pressing it firmly, sending him into oblivion as his cum shot down Slate’s throat.

After swallowing all his mate had to offer, Slate kept the softening cock in his mouth, gently licking up all the bits of cum he could find before letting it slide out.

Lying back down, he rolled Dakota over onto his chest, keeping his arms tight around his mate, and sighed.

This is what had been missing from his life—someone who’d love him for who he was—and now he had it.

Slate had finally found the happiness he’d been searching for since childhood.

Paul’s discreet knock on the bedroom door broke the spell and Slate realized they’d be landing in Edinburgh in thirty minutes. Caressing Dakota’s back, he said, “Good morning, lover.”

Dakota lifted his head until he was gazing at Slate’s gorgeous face. “Good morning and thanks for the unique wake-up call. Was that part of my graduation from the ‘Mile High Club’?”

“Uh-huh, there’s still more to the ceremony but that’ll have to wait until another time.”

“Do we have time for a shower?”

“Only if you can take one in five minutes or less.”

“That’s enough for me to return the favor. C’mon, times a-wasting.”

They barely had time to buckle up before Dakota felt the plane descending.

Looking out the window, he watched the ground grow closer until a slight bump told him they were in Scotland.

Dakota looked around, eager to see Edinburgh, the first foreign city he’d ever been to.

When the plane rolled to a stop, he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, eager to see his brothers.

He wasn’t sure they’d be waiting at the airport, but it didn’t matter since he and Slate would see them at the hotel shortly.

At the door of the plane, Paul handed him an umbrella and said, “Sorry about the rain…your driver and car got as near to the bottom of the steps as they could, so hopefully, you won’t get too wet.

“Thanks,” Dakota said, wondering if he should exit or wait for his mate.

“Babe,” Slate said, coming up behind him, “ready to get a little wet?”

Grinning, Dakota said, “It seems I’m getting a taste of Scotland in more ways than one.”

“True, it can be wet here. Let’s make a mad dash for the car.”

When the driver saw them leave the plane, he got out of the car and held the rear passenger door open.

Rushing toward it, Dakota handed him his umbrella before sliding in, with Slate close behind him.

“You look like a wet dog, babe,” Dakota laughed, taking a towel from a pile on the back seat and drying his mate’s face, arms and hair as they drove off.

Chuckling at Dakota, who was turning his head from side to side in an effort to see everything, Slate said, “Stop babe, you’re making me dizzy. I know we don’t have time on this trip for a lot of sightseeing, but we can always come back.”

“I’m sorry. I’m just so excited to be here. No wonder Theo wanted to travel. There’s so much to see.”

Slate suddenly recalled the first time he traveled with his parents; it was so long ago, he’d forgotten the rush he felt when visiting a new place. Then he had a great idea, “Babe, let’s plan a vacation each year to somewhere you’ve never been before.”

“Yesss,” Dakota said, excited about the possibilities. “A new place with different food to try! We can make it a food safari and pick different countries and based on how many different dishes we can try.”

“So sightseeing would be secondary, huh?”

“No, well…yes, but I’m sure we can combine them like eating outside a bistro in Paris while looking at the Eiffel Tower.”

Chortling at that image, Slate said, “Only you would consider looking at the Eiffel Tower while eating as sightseeing.”

Shrugging his shoulders, Dakota said, “It’s all a matter of priority and food beats spending a day tromping around the Eiffel Tower.”

“Maybe we can do both. There’s a fantastic restaurant at the top we can try.”

Dakota’s eyes widened, sparkling with delight.

“Wow! I like that idea!” Then as he felt the car slow down and come to a stop, Dakota peered out of a rain streaked window at the imposing stone facade of the hotel.

“This is where we’re staying?” Dakota squeaked, then clearing his throat, and adding in a low voice, “I didn’t bring the right outfits. ”

Leaning over, Slate murmured in his ear, “Don’t worry, you won’t need any clothes.”

Whipping his head around, he stared at his mate, giggling when Slate winked at him.

When he heard his car door open, Dakota turned and slid out with Slate following him.

A doorman held a huge umbrella over them as they walked up the steps to the front door which was being held open by another doorman.

As Dakota stepped into the lobby of the hotel, he gasped when he saw the luxurious décor.

Oh, my gods, I never dreamt such a place existed.

His eyes roamed over the stone columns, paneled walls, large fireplaces with logs merrily burning, and plush, wide chairs placed in intimate groups, inviting quiet conversation in the hushed lobby.

He spied his brother, waiting by an elevator.

“Logan,” Dakota cried out, as he rushed to hug him.

“Hey, what’s this I hear about you being mated?” Logan murmured in Dakota’s ear as he hugged back.

“It’s true,” Dakota said. “Unfuckingbelievable but it’s true.” Stepping back, he grabbed Slate’s hand. “Babe, this is my brother, Logan.”

Slate held out his hand and said, “Hi, I’m Slate.”

Shaking it, Logan said, “Nice to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you from your brother.”

“I figured that. He just can’t stop bragging about me,” Slate joked.

“That’s one way of looking at it,” Logan snickered.

“C’mon, let’s go. Groose is having a fit about me being down here.

This is a private elevator to our floor so hop aboard because there are people eager to see you.

Kieran wanted to come down also, but Groose put his foot down so my mate made me promise I wouldn’t tarry. ”

“That sounds like Kieran,” Slate chuckled as they ascended. “How’s Fionn?”

“As well as can be expected when your father is trying to kill you,” Logan snorted.

“I’ll be relieved when he is in Cody and Dylon’s custody.

After reading what Zane found out about two of those guys, Groose and I think another attempt will be made.

Oh, and one other thing…don’t talk about it today.

We’ve been trying to keep his focus off that subject until he leaves tomorrow. ”

“No problem,” Slate said.

“Here we are,” Logan said, as the elevator beeped, indicating it had reached their floor. “Get ready to be swarmed,”

As the doors opened, Theo rushed into the elevator and hugged Dakota while Kieran and Norman hugged them both to the tune of Colton raising his voice in greetings along with Lizzie who squealed with excitement as she caught a quick glimpse of Dakota before he was surrounded by the others.

Logan looked at Slate and said, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

” Then raising his voice, Logan said, “Guys, can you let them get out of the elevator, please? Kieran, babe, let Dakota and Slate sit down at least, they must be tired.” Slowly one by one, Logan was able to peel the boys away from Dakota so he could walk out of the elevator.

Then, grabbing their bags, he announced, “Welcome to the Blackwood Pack’s home-away-from-home. ”

After the din of greetings had subsided, Dakota sat next to Slate in the living room of Logan’s suite, listening to everyone babbling at the same time.

Unable to make heads or tails of what anyone was saying, he held up his hand until the voices ceased one by one.

Then, he said, “My mate and I haven’t eaten since last night, so before I listen to everyone, can we order some room service? ”

Kieran took charge. “Theo, bring over the menu, Norman and Fionn, clear the table, and put the dirty dishes on the carts and roll them out into the hallway. Miss L, could you please make some decaffeinated coffee for Dakota and Slate. Babe, do you have their room key? You do…good. Once you order it’ll take about thirty minutes before the food arrives so you can take a quick shower…

and I mean quick…no hanky-panky otherwise the food will get cold and then we’ll have to order it all over again.

You can take just a shower, right? I know it’s hard when you are newly mated, I mean Logan and I have been mated longer than you and it’s still hard for us to shower without one of us being on our kne… ”

Logan’s hand flew to Kieran’s mouth. “As my mate was saying, the food will be here in thirty minutes.”

“Thanks,” Slate said, chuckling. “Happy to see your mate hasn’t changed.” After the food was ordered, Slate took the key from Logan and left with Dakota for their suite.

“Macushla,” Kieran said, after pulling Logan’s hand away from his mouth, “Come, I need you in the bedroom for a minute. Please, just come.” Kieran tugged at his mate until Logan relented and followed Kieran into their bedroom.

“What’s the problem?” Logan asked.

“You knew Dakota was pregnant and you didn’t tell me?” Kieran asked, hands on his hips while his foot was tapping the floor.

“What? My brother is pregnant? Fuck! With a Dire Wolf pup?”

“Well I assume so since Slate is his mate. How come you didn’t tell me?” Kieran asked.

“Because no one told me? How did you find out?”

“Our spirit told me. Duh! Why did you think I asked Miss L to make decaffeinated coffee?”

“I don’t know...because that’s what Slate drinks? Why didn’t Jackson tell me and what the fuck is Dakota doing here when he’s pregnant?”

“What’s wrong with being here when he’s pregnant? I’m pregnant and you never had a problem with me being here.”

“That’s before I knew who these two assholes are who tried to kidnap Fionn last night. Why do you think I didn’t want you to go downstairs to meet Dakota?”

“I thought Groose didn’t want me to go. Holy shit balls! You told him not to let me go, didn’t you?”

“Babe, I’m worried about you and squirt. These guys are paid mercenaries and there’s a list a mile long of all the murders they committed. I did what I felt was necessary to protect you and our unborn pup. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I didn’t want you to worry about the danger Fionn is in.”

“He’s in more danger than we thought, isn’t he?”

“Yes, and it’s why I asked Jackson to help move his hoard out of Scotland.

In the folder Fionn gave me from his father’s file cabinet, there was a contract with a company to find and move Fionn’s hoard out of Scotland.

It was signed a couple of days before we found Fionn in the cave.

I’m sure, by now, his father knows his son’s hoard is gone and gave orders to his henchmen to kidnap his son and torture him until he told them where it was. ”

Kieran plopped down on the bed. “I’m sorry macushla, for getting angry. I wish Fionn could leave today…hey, why can’t Mystia zap him back home?”

“Mystia explained why to Jackson but I didn’t pay too much attention because I was busy thinking of other alternatives.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I guess the only way is how you’re doing it. What about Dakota’s pregnancy? Should we congratulate him and Slate?”

“If my brother hasn’t said anything to me then I bet they haven’t made an announcement yet, so best to say nothing for now,” Logan said, adding, “Am I forgiven for not telling you about everything? Like about not wanting you down in the lobby?”

“Yes, but babe, in the future you’re going to have to tell me everything, otherwise I can’t be there for you. There’s no reason you should have to be worrying alone. I’m stronger than I look.”

“I know. I promise I won’t do it again, but you have to promise me you’ll be careful about putting yourself in danger.”

Kieran beamed at Logan. “Promise. Now do we have time for a little hanky-panky?”
