31. Chapter Thirty-One #2

Abandoned or not, the lair had a foul smell and far too many bones dangled from the ceiling to let the mortals rest entirely at ease.

Charmaine made a fire. The wounded patients huddled around the warmth where William carefully inspected each of them.

His energy drained further after each patient, though his smile never faltered.

The patients thanked him profusely, a younger boy crying hysterically against William’s chest after the reality of what happened hit them.

Relief washed over Nicholas because he didn’t mind. He didn’t care if the boy hugged William. In fact, he smiled along with William as he helped each patient until a little color returned to their once dull eyes.

He was of sound mind enough to remember how he would have panicked before.

Seeing William so happy toward someone else would have put him on edge.

Instead, he rested in the corner, perfectly content knowing William, while he couldn’t save everyone, did what he set out to do.

He would rest easy and maybe have fewer nightmares.

As if he sensed Nicholas’ attention, William looked at him and smiled. His heart swelled, full of love that could only ever belong to William. Two beautifully scarred souls no other could dance with.

“He’s not so bad.” Evera fell into the chair beside him. “That mortal of yours.”

“Did you hit your head today?” he teased.

“Plenty, but that doesn’t change what I said.” Her attention strayed toward Charmaine.

“Your mortal is quite nice too, don’t you think?”

“She’s not my mortal.” She smirked, not devious but confident and a little hopeful. “Not yet. Suppose I jumped on her tonight. What do you think she’d do?”

“If she knows what’s good for her, she’d run.” He yelped when Evera pinched his thigh, hard enough to pierce the skin. Then she left to speak to Charmaine by the fire, uttering nonsense that Charmaine fell for based on her nervous smile.

Poor girl, Evera is going to devour her by the night’s end, he thought around a laugh.

A moment later, William finished checking on the patients.

They crowded around the fire curled up in whatever fabric Henry and Arden scrounged up, which wasn’t much, and certainly wouldn’t have any remaining for the rest of them.

Normally, he would complain, but he was quite tired and William called for his attention.

The medic dropped into the chair beside him, wincing slightly. He rolled his right shoulder as if he forgot the arm was missing. “I’m glad the two of you are getting along.”

“Who?” he asked.

William yawned. His eyes drooped. “You and Evera. You’re acting like siblings.”

“I wouldn’t know what that was like.”

“I do, and the two of you are acting like it.” William glanced toward a door hanging off its hinges. “There are a few rooms here. You should rest in one.”

He leaned against William’s side, taking in a breath of his scent. “Why don’t we rest in one?”

“I need to make sure everyone is taken care of.” William stood only to lean over and whisper, “But I will join you later.”

His heart leapt to a desperate song. “For more than resting?”

William knocked his head aside with his knuckles. But that wasn’t a no.

While the others slept, William came to Nicholas’ makeshift bed in an old room at the back of the hut.

A string of candles lined an alcove in the wall that gave the room a low orange glow.

He mended the broken door using roots to create more privacy.

William didn’t hide his smirk when shutting the door behind him.

“Expecting something, are you?” William whispered.

“I am.” He presented a hand from where he knelt among the glade he fabricated. There were no beds to seek comfort from, so he made what he could.

William accepted, and he shuddered as always, as he hoped he always would.

Then he was caught between William’s legs, descending on his mouth that caught him in a whirlwind.

William was the eye of his storm, a comfort among any gloom.

There they laid kissing, tracing the shape of one another with fingers and gaze before he couldn’t handle it.

He craved William with a hunger that knew no bounds.

Their touching grew more fervent, tearing at each other’s clothes until William caught the end of his shirt, preventing Nicholas from removing the ruined garment. William glimpsed the bandage wrapped around the end of his right shoulder.

“Are you nervous?” He laid his weight on William, smiling at the content sigh his lover released.

“More than I thought I would be.” William kissed his temple and ran his fingers through the fae’s hair. “Does it… bother you?”

“No. I never understood why that arm bothered you. When I saw it, I remembered what you were willing to give to save me, and what I did to save you. I was, and still am, grateful, however,” he lifted his chin to admire William, “I do understand that you made a decision that is entirely your own and that made you happy, so it makes me happy, too.”

William’s lips trembled, his eyes foggy. Nicholas kissed him, breathing in his relieved cry.

“Keep going,” William said against his mouth. The hand in his hair angled him for a deeper kiss, full of yearning. His hand found William’s and guided it above their heads. Chest to chest, he felt William’s heart racing in tune with his own.

“No touching.” He caught William’s earlobe between his teeth. “I want you to just enjoy this tonight.”

He traced William’s neck with his tongue.

His eager hands rid William of his clothes entirely.

William did the same, kissing and yanking at his clothes until they were bare against each other.

He squeezed William’s thighs, pressing their bodies skin to skin.

How he wanted to meld, to stitch their parts together piece by piece so they would never part.

He could live there, fused to William, captured between his thighs.

William grabbed his arm, calling for him as their hips met.

He caught that pale wrist to pin above William’s head a second time.

“What did I say about touching? I want this to be about you. I want you to be undone by me,” he growled.

His fingers pressed against the soil, calling forth mossy vines to wrap around William’s wrist. The medic shivered as the vines tethered him, spreading his thighs, giving their master all the space to conduct his work. William flushed from head to toe.

“I don’t know if I can,” William bit his lip, slightly dejected. “With what happened, the healing, and traveling tomorrow… I don’t mean to ruin the mood.”

“You aren’t. We can do so much just like this.

” His hands fell on William’s chest, savoring how his lover leaned into the affection.

“I’ll make you cum.” He fell forward to take William’s nipple between his teeth.

“And when we return, when your body is ready and wanting, I will fuck you from sunrise to sunset. Besides, we wouldn’t want to be too loud tonight.

If any other were to hear you, I can’t imagine what I might do. ”

William withered beneath his feverish attention. He touched every part of his wicked. He kissed and sucked until William panted for breath.

“Touch me,” William pleaded. The desperation in his voice had Nicholas chuckling against the skin between his teeth.

“I am touching you.” His finger circled William’s hole. William squirmed, trying to press his hips against Nicholas’ hand to no avail.

“My ass. Use your tongue.”

He couldn’t deprive William of anything when he sounded like that. His full body blush brought out the enchanting green of his eyes, made Nicholas hunger like a starving beast. He fell to his chest where the vines curled, forcing William’s thighs up higher. Then he got everything he wanted.

William called his name beautifully as his tongue thrust between his cheeks. He took care of William’s arousal with his hand, pumping him while his tongue worked. William struggled to control his voice. Vines curled over his mouth, muffling his cries that still had Nicholas’ cock throbbing.

Nicholas smirked against his ass, spreading and playing with his backside.

He would love nothing more than to bring William to ecstasy like that, but he didn’t want to stop.

Not yet. He retreated to kiss those beautiful cheeks, chuckling when William the vines fell away, allowing William to beg, “Don’t stop. Nicholas, let me cum.”

“So soon?”

He kissed along William’s shaft, smirking at the shivers he invoked.

His hands roamed up William’s delectable body to play with his nipples while he took William’s balls into his mouth.

He departed, letting William catch his breath, and reached for his own cock.

His arousal throbbed painfully between his legs, wanting attention that he gave.

William watched Nicholas touch himself, licking his lips.

“I want to take my time with you,” he said, releasing himself before he moved in to capture William in a kiss, one after the other.

“We have all the time in the world now,” said William between their lips. He took Nicholas’ bottom lip between his teeth, biting down hard, then soothing the wound with his tongue. “You can have me whenever you want, if you behave.”

“How can you expect me to behave when you’re so tempting?” He traced William’s lips, shivering when he sucked on those fingers. “What spell have you cast over me, I wonder? Because I cannot fathom how I could crave one as much as I crave you.”

“Why would I tell you? I wouldn’t want to risk you ever breaking it.” William smiled into their kiss.

“I would never dare.”

He descended to lavish William with the pleasure he so deserved.

There he stayed, spreading William’s cheeks, feeling that erratic pulse racing against his tongue.

He switched between sucking William off and fucking him with his tongue.

William responded beautifully, a trembling and ravished mess all for Nicholas to worship.

A few more thrusts of his tongue and turns of his wrist had William jerking, eyes pinched shut as Nicholas pleasured him until his body laid spent. The vines released their captive, letting his body relax.

“You are stunning after you cum.” He kissed William slowly, letting the medic taste himself. Then pressed Williams’ legs together. “Can I use your thighs?”

William nodded, and he buried himself between that warmth. They shared a moan where William squirmed and the brush of his skin, slick with sweat, on Nicholas’ arousal had him seeing stars. His hand fell on William’s neck, a thumb brushing over swollen lips that took that thumb between his teeth.

He groaned, watching himself take William. The medic ran his tongue around his finger. He thought of all the times William had his cock in his mouth, how that tongue felt inside of him and slammed his hips hard enough to make William jolt.

When they were fully rested and home, he would have William begging for more.

But this was enough for the moment, coming undone between William’s legs, lost to the lust of his eyes, then the feeling of his chest. Nicholas’ hand descended to feel the goosebumps on his lover’s skin, every shudder and gasped breath.

His palm fell on William’s sternum to sense the racing of his heart perfectly in tune with his own.

He was close, so close he couldn’t stand it.

William smirked, his voice deep and teasing. “You look like you want something. Tell me.”

“I want to cum in your mouth.”

William opened his devilish lips. Nicholas crawled over him.

With a hand in William’s hair, he brought that mouth upon his cock.

It was pure bliss. He thrust into William’s mouth, feeling his moans, the heat and wet of him utterly suffocating.

His orgasm rippled through him, leaving his hips rolling against William’s tongue.

He didn’t release William until he was spent, both of them heaving and satisfied.

He fell over to wrap an arm around William’s waist. The medic laid there, eyes shut in a peaceful ecstasy, exactly how Nicholas wanted. He wished they could stay fused for all eternity, lost entirely to the other.

“Let me know when you’re up for more,” he said, grinning when William peeked one eye open.

“Are you that eager to fuck me?”

“At this stage, I think we could call it making love.”

William pretended to gag, then rolled over to curl against his chest. His arms fell around Nicholas’ waist. He sighed with a contentment Nicholas hadn’t heard since they found each other again. A smile spread so large his cheeks ached.

“Don’t play the romantic. It doesn’t suit you,” William teased.

“Says the man who loves a romantic.”

“In books.” William drew circles in the small of his back. “I love you the way you are, as wicked as I am.”

“Love was never a word I thought I would hear from anyone,” he whispered, especially not William, even if that was all he could ever want.

“Then I will say it every day.” William’s eyes became devious. “If you behave.”

He groaned playfully. “I’ve done more than behave this evening, wouldn’t you agree?”

“I’ll be the judge of that.”

William opened his mouth, no words leaving his lips.

He pulled away, leaving Nicholas cold and despaired.

William got up to wipe himself off with his ruined shirt and tugged something out of his trousers.

The item was small enough to hide in his hand.

He returned to Nicholas’ awaiting arms, where he meant to be forever.

William’s full body blush darkened as he held that hand against his chest.

Then William took his hand, bringing it from his waist to settle between them.

Something dropped, shadowed under William’s arm.

He caught Nicholas’ ring finger, holding it up and Nicholas held it there, letting William slip a ring on that finger.

He stared, perplexed, at the roots tangled into a knotted ring.

He remembered giving William his, taunting him with a mortal custom that hadn’t meant anything at the time.

But now, the ring hugging his finger meant everything in the world.

“It won’t last forever or hide you from trouble, but that’s as good as I can make." Blushing, William kissed Nicholas’ knuckles as he had done so many times.

He pulled William flush against him, needing to kiss him, to hold him forever. “Is this your way of asking to court me, officially?”

“It’s my way of saying I’ll never let you go. I fear I was made for you too, trouble.”

He liked that even better. They held each other close all night where Nicholas’ heart grew so full he feared it would burst from his chest. He knew the feeling wouldn’t go away, never again, because he wasn’t alone anymore.

He had more than he could ever imagine, more than he would ever dare ask for.

Regardless of what the future held, he was happier than ever and somehow; he knew it was only going to get better.
