Epilogue #3

“I’ve got you, baby.”

Milo scrambled to gain purchase, pressing their knees solidly down into the mattress as Rowan somehow managed to scoot onto the bed while still holding Milo in place with his strong hands.

Milo sank all the way down on his cock, and Rowan tore their dress off over their head.

They ignored the sound of seams ripping, because for the first time ever, they were riding their fated mate.

“Oh, Milo,” Rowan growled as Milo began bouncing up and down on his cock, taking care to keep their feet splayed out away from his thighs, landing on him with the part of their legs and butt encased in fabric. “This is—”

“Perfect,” Milo breathed.

Leave it to Rowan to figure out a new, kickass position for them that didn’t require three hours of stressful swing construction. They pointedly didn’t look at the sex swing in the corner. Instead, they stared into Rowan’s eyes, for the first time at eye level during sex.

His irises were a whirlwind of yellow and brown, brimming with lust and love and promises of forever that Milo was more than ready to make themself.

“I’m going to mark you,” Rowan growled, talons extending from his fingertips.

“Yes,” Milo said, already feeling their pony’s teeth lengthening in their mouth. They wouldn’t be able to talk coherently while they were partially shifted, so they had to make these final words count. “I -ove -ou.”

Well, they’d tried.

Rowan’s smile was small at first, but it transformed into a wide, toothy grin as his claws sank into the meat of Milo’s lower back.

They weren’t able to watch how his expression changed when they leaned forward and bit into his neck, but in their mind's eye, they got to watch as his hawk transformed into a ball of blinding red and yellow light, merging and tangling with their pony’s glaring white.

Milo came inside the toy, swallowing their moan and holding back their sobs, not wanting to slobber or cry on Rowan’s shoulder. Their teeth were dull and couldn’t actually break skin, but Rowan’s neck was heating under their mouth, so they figured it was working.

They had no idea how long they were supposed to hold the mate bite, but Rowan’s roar of pleasure and his knot pressing against their hole solved that mystery for them.

They jerked back, at the same time Rowan pulled them forward, and their mouths collided, a jarring clash of teeth and tongue as Milo’s pony teeth retracted and Rowan’s knot pressed inside them.

“Oh—gods, shit, we—”

“We’re mated,” Rowan growled.

Milo had only ever been to one concert in their life.

It had been Anabelle’s idea, so she had bought them balcony seats to try and avoid the crush of bodies on the floor level.

Somehow, they’d ended up seated right next to one of the largest speakers in the venue.

The opening bass of the first song had shaken through Milo, and it had felt like their heart could barely fight against the competing beat.

That was a little how Milo felt right now. Rowan’s heartbeat resounded around the room, shaking through Milo all the way into their heart until, with a stutter, their heartbeat reset to match Rowan’s.

There really wasn’t anything else Milo could do but sob. They pressed a hand against their face, trying to catch their tears as Rowan’s knot locked into place, binding them together for the next several minutes as their mate bond tied them together for eternity.

“Let it out, baby,” Rowan soothed, dropping his hands to cup Milo’s clothed hips. “I feel it, too.”

Milo blinked the wetness from their eyes to see tears rolling down Rowan’s cheeks as well. His joy was like a physical thing around them, filling up the room and reverberating through their mate bond.

Can you….hear my thoughts? Milo thought as loudly as they could. Rowan continued staring at them, so Milo assumed that was a no.

Their pony let out a loud neigh, throwing their head back, and Rowan’s hawk appeared in Milo’s mind again, letting out an equally loud shriek.

“I can see your pony so clearly. They’re so beautiful,” Rowan said, his smile growing impossibly wider.

Rowan’s hawk began to dance, shimmying and shaking his magnificent tail for them.

“So is your hawk. He’s so pretty…and definitely giving a new meaning to ‘shake your tail feathers.’”

Rowan laughed, jostling Milo’s insides with his knot.

“Oh, gods, sweetheart,” Milo groaned. “If we have any hope of making it to the cabin tonight, I’m going to need you to not move, laugh, or even breathe.”

Rowan snorted, his fingers tightening on Milo’s hips, pulling them forward, and then pushing them back on his knot. Milo’s insides quivered, and their dick began to harden again.

Milo stared into swirling yellow, as that tiny smile they loved turned into a wicked grin.

“My hawk may be in a rush,” Rowan said, “but I’m not. We have the rest of our lives together.”

As Rowan began rocking his hips, Milo pressed up onto their knees to meet every thrust, driving his knot higher and higher as their energies merged together once again.
