3. Logan #2
Emma looked up ever so briefly, and the sight of her was my undoing.
Time blurred, and I swear I could feel our heartbeats sync up, reverberating between us as though the thunder outside no longer came from the sky but from us.
The sound of her name was lightning on my lips, and I had no choice but to surrender.
Another flash. Another earth-shaking, thundering heartbeat. Then I was there, dragged over the edge, falling. I cried out her name, shaking, and emptied into her mouth, curling over her, her head clutched between my hands. She eagerly consumed every part of me.
“Emma,” I whispered after, untangling my fingers from her hair. “You have no idea the power you have over me.”
“Oh, I know.” She licked her lips and arched an eyebrow, her face glowing with smug satisfaction. “You have the same power over me.”
My mouth twisted in a smile. “And I intend to give as good as I got.”
Our mouths met again, and we continued to explore and tease each other until I hardened once again. This time, I gave her no chance to take control.
I entered her body, and a delectable moan escaped her lips. With each thrust, slow and steady, I showered her with kisses. The urgency of proving we had survived had faded, softened into something quieter but more consuming.
Emma’s hand rested on my shoulder, her thumb tracing circles on my skin, before she tightened her grip and dug her nails into my back. Every touch carried meaning. Every breath was a promise that we endured. Together.
I brushed a strand of hair away from her face so I could see the pleasure in her eyes. “You are everything to me, Emma,” I murmured.
She shook her head, smiling gently, her body still moving beneath me. “This is… We. Are. Everything.”
The word we struck something deep in me. I guided her gently to lift her legs up, and she wrapped them around me. The entire world had fallen away. All that existed was us. She was right. We are everything. Our fingers interlaced as her hips bucked. Our bodies synced in a feral dance.
“Logan,” she whispered, picking up her speed. “I’m so close…”
Fuck. I groaned.
“Stay with me,” she demanded. “Come with me.”
“Always,” I promised.
Every time we had touched, kissed, and fucked, our history inundated me, amplifying this moment. It was as if our souls were whispering to me, to us, saying, I am here. You’re here. We are safe. We made it.
I reached between us and found her clit.
Emma gasped as I made gentle circles, increasing my speed to match hers. “Logan…”
I couldn’t hold myself back anymore either as she tightened around my dick. I thrust harder, faster, until her body released, my name a scream on her lips, as our mating bed shook the manor and the earth beneath.
“Fuck, Emma,” I growled before spilling into her once more.
Finally, I lay atop her, trembling. The room had gone still, save for the sound of our breathing and the buzzing lights above us.
A faint glow of light peeked in through the windows. I wasn’t sure if it was moonlight or if we had stayed awake long enough to see the sunrise.
It must have been the latter because the early birds began singing their songs, and somewhere beyond these walls and the trauma we carried, the world was waking up.
Emma rolled out from beneath me. “The sun will be up soon,” she murmured. “There’s so much to do.”
I followed her gaze, studying the window. “But not yet.”
She took a deep breath. “We should shower and get ready…”
Get ready for what, I didn’t know, but there was always something new to face.
It was foolish to think we could simply shower together without our bodies pleading to be connected.
As our lips explored each other, I gripped the removable showerhead and began teasing her clit.
Emma stroked my cock at the same time. We tantalized each other until the water ran cold, and we had to rush to rinse the soapy suds from each other’s skin.
“This is all your fault,” Emma said, laughing and shivering.
“I believe it was you who said we should shower and you who started nibbling on my shoulder first…”
“That’s only because you gave me that look.”
“And how could I not? Your body’s incredible,” I said, gently slapping her ass.
She shrieked and giggled.
We dressed slowly, wordlessly, helping each other with buttons and sleeves. My fingers clutched her wrists as I handed her a light coat, and even that simple touch sparked my dick to harden once again.
“Why are you handing me my jacket? Trying to get rid of me?” she asked.
I chuckled. “You know better than that. The sun isn’t completely up yet, but I thought we could have a peaceful walk around the grounds for once.”
Emma winked. “I could use more peaceful activities.”
I liked her this way. Carefree. Happy. I didn’t know how long our reprieve would last before the worries pressed in from all sides, but maybe we could avoid our responsibilities for a little while longer. The problems would find us soon enough.
I left a note for Olivia to let her know where we’d gone, and we left the manor.
Outside, the air was cool and clean. The temperature had dropped, and the storm had cleared.
The trees waited beyond the edge of the clearing, dark silhouettes against the rising light.
We walked together, our hands intertwined.
Together. One. The quiet between us was gentle and easy.
There was something powerful about being surrounded by the wild of the forest. I swear the trees knew our secrets, and most days, they had a way of making us feel seen, safe, and protected.
When we reached the clearing, Emma stopped. The forest floor was damp and smelled of pine and soil. She turned to face me, her rainbow hair catching the sunrise, always reflecting back light.
She gave me the look she had accused me of giving her.
Was she not tired? Of course, she wasn’t, though. She was insatiable, and so was I. We were fate bonded.
“Here? Where the pack can find us?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
She nodded. There was a steadiness to her now that hadn’t been there before, as if the primal part of her was taking over. I touched her face, tracing the outline of her lips with my thumb. Muted light filtered through the branches and danced across her skin.
“We can breathe now,” she explained, “and I want to enjoy every fucking minute of it. We don’t owe the world anything right now. Just us. Just now. Just this.”
“Well, we are everything, aren’t we?” I asked.
“That was kinda cheesy.” Her nose scrunched.
“No,” I said firmly, pulling her close to me. “It was true.”
As I kissed her again, the forest went quiet. Every leaf, every ray of sunlight breaking through the branches, every heartbeat was ours. The trees were silent witnesses to the kind of love that didn’t ask for permission.
My lips made their way to her neck and shoulder. Then I bit her gently.
She dragged her nails down my back. Our clothes were soon shredded on the forest floor with an eagerness so strong it overrode any ounce of logic I had telling me to slow down, to worry about being caught fucking my mate in the woods. Cathartic.
If they found us… Well… Let them look.
As though she heard me through our bond, she collapsed into the largest pile of fresh autumn leaves, her hands digging into them on either side of her, her hair fanned out like rays of multicolored sunlight as she waited for me to join her.
I needed her raw passion. Gorgeous and naked.
I needed to let the fearless beast in me ruin her.
I needed her to ruin me.
I fucking needed this.
And so did she.
“Fuck me,” Emma demanded.
