Chapter 46 Worth the Consequences
-Annie-
My body is humming in satisfaction. I’ve never felt this good.
After what Drew did to me, I feel boneless, and my mind is broken.
Watching him lick his fingers as he pulls back from my body is the most erotic thing I’ve ever seen.
I’ve started to take in his hard body, and the thought that maybe we should keep going crosses my mind, when the silence is broken by the location app ping.
I remove my eyes from Drew and look in the direction of my discarded bag.
The sexual tension has left my body, because I know that my parents have pinged my phone as a warning: they know I’m here.
My brain tries to find a clock, and since this is my first time in Drew’s room, I have no idea if he even has one.
Drew looks confused at my panicked expression, and I give him a quick summary of what the sound is and what that sound means.
I attempt to cover my breasts as I scramble to get out of Drew’s bed.
After my words, Drew is scrambling to find our discarded clothes.
I am most worried about my dress—I can’t go home naked.
I grab the red material and pull it on. Before I can attempt to pull up the zipper, Drew has his hands at my back and is pulling it up for me.
Then he goes back to getting into all his layers.

Instead of trying to look around for my thong, I go to my bag and pull out my phone. “Shit, I have four missed texts and then the ping,” I say to Drew. Then, I text my mom back as quickly as I can.
Annie
I’m so sorry my phone was on silent
On my way home right now
Mom
You have two minutes, Annie, before your father is walking over to the Davises’ house
I type out a quick reply and shut my phone.
“I’m so going to be grounded,” I think, and then realize I’ve said it into the room.
Drew is now fully dressed, and he walks over and gives me a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
“You have any regrets?” he asks against my still-too-warm skin.
I have absolutely, positively zero regrets.
It will suck being grounded, but I’d make the same choices all over again to be with him like tonight.
I pull back and look him in the eyes, “None, but be prepared, I’ll probably be grounded through at least two Saturdays for this little rebellion.
” He makes a joke and takes my hand and walks me home.

Mom and Dad are there right away, and Drew apologizes for breaking my curfew.
He lets my parents know that he will do better and set an alarm next time.
I did my best not to laugh, because he had set an alarm, and my actions had us forgetting it had even gone off.
My dad gives a mumbled, “Do better to remember that, Davis,” comment before stepping back, effectively telling me to get inside.
I want to kiss Drew but think better of it.
He lifts our clasped hands to his lips, giving my hand a quick kiss before releasing me and backing down the steps.
“Good night, Angel. Thank you for the best homecoming on record.” Then he takes off across our yards to his house.
I turn back to my parents. Mom gives me a little smile because Drew did make a really sweet gesture in front of them, but my dad still looks pissed, so I make my way inside.

I head to the kitchen because that is normally where these conversations take place.
Normally, it’s been Miles in these moments; I’ve only heard them from the stairs while I eavesdrop.
I know not to get into details about why I missed curfew—Miles had tried that once and gotten grounded for a whole month.
So, I sit down and wait for one of my parents to say something.
They share a look, and Mom gives Dad a little head nod, which I think means he is about to start—he is the king of curfew after all—so it surprises me when Mom speaks.
“Annie, we expect you to be able to honor the curfew we give you. We know you are a senior, and that is why we even extended the curfew, but that is no excuse to not be home on time or at least text us where you are.” Before I can interject, she continues, “I realize that the location app is for emergencies like we discussed, but when you were more than thirty minutes past curfew, your dad and I got worried. So, I pinged your phone.” I take a second to hear the message my mother is trying to give me.
I feel a little relief, because unless I’ve heard wrong, Mom just let me know that Dad has no idea that she pinged my phone at Drew’s: my location for the night is only known to her.
I know the silence is meant to allow me to say something, and I take a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, I lost track of time with everything.
I promise it won’t happen again.” My parents share a look, and then my dad says, “You're grounded for the next two weeks. You can attend football games only on Friday, because of the Visual News, but we expect you home right after. Also, you’ll only have access to your phone when away from home, so hand it over.” I can’t say I didn’t see it coming.
I’d even told Drew I would be grounded for two weeks.
I make one small request, “Can I text Drew that I’m grounded before I hand over my phone?
” “Sure, send him one more message, then I’d like to go to bed,” Mom says.
Dad heads in the direction of their room and Mom stays seated at the table with me as I pull out my phone and text Drew.
Annie
Grounded, no phone while at home
About to hand my phone over to my mom
Thanks for tonight, no regrets
His reply is immediate, and Mom lets me read it before I hand over my phone.
Drew Davis
Thanks for the update
Good night Angel
PS no regrets
I smile as I close my phone screen, getting one more look at Drew’s body on my lock screen, and hand over my phone.
“Thanks, Mom,” I say to her as I walk to my room.
“I have no idea what you mean,” she says and gives me a little wink before heading towards her bedroom.
It’s not until I reach my room and I look in the mirror that I realize it’s clear Drew and I had at least been making out, because my hair is all mussed, and when I go to comb it back from my face, I’m greeted by at least two hickeys along my neck.
I make quick work of brushing out my hair and head back into my room to change.
Only when undressing do I realize that I never did find that red thong before leaving Drew’s bedroom.
