Chapter 48 Best Laid Plans
-Annie-
After Drew texted me to check in, I’ve been scrambling to finish all the tasks that Mom and Dad have for me.
I’m finishing when I hear the doorbell. I can hear Dad and Drew talking about the upcoming Kansas City game on Sunday.
I like that Dad is making an effort to get to know Drew.
He still calls him Davis, which cracks me up a little.
I’m not sure why he started doing it, but it’s stuck.
I grab my bag and head down the stairs. They’ve changed subjects to baseball, and I know that I need to get Drew out the door quickly.
Baseball is the game they both can spend hours on, passing back opinions and facts.
When I round the corner from the stairs I can see they are still standing by the door.
Drew turns to look at me, and he smiles.
I can’t get over how good he looks—it is constantly catching me off guard.
I love seeing that dimple before he returns his attention to the conversation with Dad.

We do really have a lane at the bowling alley scheduled.
We are meeting as a friend group to have a little time together before the holiday break.
Our friends are already setting up the lanes when we arrive.
Craig is single again, having broken up with his last girlfriend.
He’s bullied Travis to join us tonight. According to Craig, it's okay to be part of a group of couples as long as you’re not the third wheel or the odd man out.
Meg and Tom are still going strong, and they’ve even started talking about the possibility of going to the same college next year and have been applying to a few of the same schools.
Meg is anxious to get to spring and see if they get into any of the same ones.
Luke was still dating Katie; they are cute together, and Katie seems like she is pretty committed to Luke.
We’ve split our group of eight between two lanes.
Since Drew and I are competitive, we’ve been grouped with Craig and Travis.
I’m distracted, talking to everyone, when Craig yells at me to start our lane.
I look up, expecting to see my name, but it reads instead: Love Bird 1, followed by Love Bird 2, Champ, and Loser.
I’m going to assume that Champ is Craig, because he’d been the one on the screen when we arrived, leaving Loser to be Travis, with me as Love Bird 1 and Drew as Love Bird 2.
The butterflies flutter to life looking at the word love on the screen.
My brain makes some connection from the butterflies in my stomach to the word love in front of me.
Is that what this feeling is? Do I love Drew?
Before I can even answer myself, Craig interrupts my thoughts.
“Annie, you scared.” I answer, “Never,” and I grab my ball and get a strike.
After I get out of my head, I enjoy bowling with our friends.
We eat all the greasy foods offered by the snack bar.
Craig flirts with the girl at the register, earning us extras on all our orders.
We’ve been sitting here for a few minutes after the last game as a group, chatting.
I’m wrapped up in Drew’s arms and he leans in, whispering into my ear, “My house is empty.” I look at him and say quietly, “How?” “My parents are having a date night out, at my suggestion. If we want to enjoy the time, I suggest we leave now,” he whispers into my ear.
I make our excuses almost immediately. I am sure with Drew’s smirk, our friends see through my excuses to leave, but they don’t call me out on it.

Drew parks his car in the garage, and I don’t wait for him to open my door.
I get out, and I don’t wait for him to lead me into his house, either.
I want to be bold, and it’s so much easier to do it when we have the house to ourselves.
“Can you carry this for me?” I ask as I hand over my bag and jacket.
He gives me a little confused look and says, “Sure.” I continue, “Oh, this too.” I hand over my shirt.
He is smiling now and continues to follow me into the house.
I don’t turn towards his bedroom but towards the living room.
“What about this one?” I say as I take off my bra and throw it at his head.
“I think I’ll be able to handle whatever you’re going to remove, Angel.
” I hear my bag and items hit the hardwood floor, and I’m being spun around to face him before his lips are on mine.
***
“I want you naked, Drew, and sitting there.” I point to a spot on the couch when we break the kiss.
“Angel, that doesn’t seem fair —you’re only half naked” he replies.
I pull out of his arms and shimmy out of my jeans and shoes, throwing them on the pile of my clothes already on the floor.
I’m only left in my black thong. “Fuck, Annie” is all that he says before he strips out of all his clothing except his boxers.
We are out of arms reach, looking at each other.
Neither of us make the first move, just enjoying looking at all the exposed skin in the shadows of the room.
“I thought I said I wanted you naked,” I say finally.
His dimple appears, and he leans down, pulling his boxers off and throwing them on the pile of clothing.
“And I think you said sit here right,” he moves to the spot on the couch.
His ass looks good in the shadows, and I have to give my brain a little shake to remember what I planned during the car ride from the bowling alley.
After he sits, he looks up at me. “You joining me, Angel?” I walk over and straddle him.
The only thing separating us is one very small piece of fabric.
I kiss him, and the world lights on fire.
His hands aren’t idle: they are all over my body as we kiss.
I’m not sure where my lips and tongue end and his begin as our kisses continue to build.
I know I’m going to have to make my next move and break this kiss, but I’m going to give myself a moment to enjoy his hands and his kisses before I do.
What feels like just minutes later, I know I need to make my move—our time isn’t unlimited, after all.
I don’t want his parents to come home to us in the living room.
So, I break the kiss and start to kiss my way down his jaw.
While I do, his hands have found my breasts, and he is running his thumbs across my nipples.
This next move is going to kill me, because I want his hands on my body, but they can’t stay where they are.
So, I pull my body back out of his hands.
My mouth moves lower on his chest. I kiss across his pecs and suck on his nipple before continuing my path.
“Annie,” Drew groans into the near darkness.
It’s the thing I need to continue to be bold and set the final piece of my plan in action.
My knees hit the plush throw rug, and my face is level with his dick at the perfect level like I thought it would be.
I know I have a smirk on my face at my plan coming together.
I suck him into my mouth and hear “AANNNNIIEE” break from Drew’s mouth, and I know I’ve got him right where I want him.
