Chapter 35

Emalyn

“Ro, we have to get out of bed.” I giggle as his arm locks around my waist. I press my cold hands to the back of his neck, making him hiss. He grips me tighter and thrusts his hips into me, hard erection pressing against my stomach.

“Don’t start that.” He growls, “You know I like it when you’re mean to me.”

“We’re gonna be late. You’re the worst about packing your suitcase at the last minute.” I grumble. His hands squeeze my ass, pulling my leg over his hip and making me gasp when he thrusts his cock perfectly against my clit.

“You always smell so…good.” He whispers, dragging his nose along my neck and up the curve of my jaw. “So sweet.”

My traitorous hips buck and I feel him grin against me. He knows he’s got me.

“Damn, will it always be like this?” I moan as he kisses my breasts through the lacey top of my nightgown.

“I’ll never get enough of you, Emmy.” He vows, looking right in my eyes as he slides my wet panties to the side and thrusts into me. My mouth falls wide open as he bottoms out inside me. He doesn’t break eye contact as he groans, “That’s my good girl. Taking all of me like you were made for it.”

I pull him closer, biting his lower lip and reveling in his cock throbbing inside of me in response. He slides his tongue against mine while pushing deeper.

“Ronan.” I moan as he picks up the pace, taking me to new heights with each thrust. I feel the telltale sign of my impending orgasm tightening in my lower belly and my toes start to curl. “Just like that.”

Ronan slides his arm under my knee resting on his hip, to position it into the crook of his elbow before fucking me harder. I gasp at the same time he lets out a deep, guttural groan.

“So tight. So wet for me. I can feel you pulsing around me, Emmy. Give it to me.” He encourages, while my head moves side to side, unable to think or breathe with the perfect pressure of it all. “Come all over my dick.”

Without stopping, he reaches between us and circles my clit, once then twice and I come apart for him, head falling back and screaming out his name. I cling to him, as my body hurts with the strength of it, white light flashing behind my tightly shut eyelids.

“Fuck!” He grunts and pounds into me three more hard times before his head falls to the crook of my neck, and stills deep inside me. My fingertips trace the back of his neck while he rides out his release.

Panting, he places open mouthed kisses to my breast, and gently pulls out. With my leg still hiked up on his arm, he has a perfect view of everything. My cheeks heat as he smirks, and gently closes my legs.

“You look beautiful dripping with my cum, Sunshine.” He murmurs, brushing curls away from my forehead. My face tilts into his touch on instinct. Since Ronan’s moved in, everything’s been more. More peaceful and definitely more sexual. More loving, most of all.

I watch as he grabs a pair of boxers from the dresser drawer, leaving it open as he turns to the bathroom. Pausing in the doorway, he grins.

“I love you.”

A smile breaks across my face at the burst of love flooding my chest. No more hiding.

“I love you, too.”

His eyes hold mine a bit longer before his hand slides from the door frame, clicking the bathroom door shut. I lay in a trance, smiling at nothing until I hear the shower turn on.

Excitement blooms in my chest as I realize I can just get in with him. Run my hands all over those deliciously carved abs. I hold back a squeal, throwing the covers back and launching out of the bed.

My hand is reaching for the doorknob, when I notice the papers jostled in the drawer.

Shaking my head, I pick them up to straighten them.

I have to blink a few times when I see my name in clear block letters along with other information like an account number.

My brow furrows in confusion as I tuck them neatly back into their place.

My hands pause on the dresser drawer after pushing it shut, while my mind tries to understand what it just saw.

When I gently push the bathroom door open, Ronan's washing soap from his hair. Squinting, he opens one eye and shoots me a smile.

“Getting in?” He scrubs the rest of the soap from his hair as I tie my curls up in my shower cap. Still naked, I step into the shower with him, into his waiting arms. He kisses me softly and starts to wash my body with soap, of course paying more attention than is needed on my breasts.

My heart pounds as I try to think of a way to bring up what I found, but I don’t want him to think I was snooping through his things. I avoid his eyes.

His movements slow as he watches my face. He’s always been so damn in tune with my feelings, it makes it difficult to hide anything from him. Not that I want to, really.

Biting my lip, I grab the face wash to buy myself time. I end up using way too much, creating so many bubbles it’s hard to breathe. I ignore Ronan’s snicker and put my whole face in the water.

“Are you okay?” His snickers turn to full on laughter as he reaches out for my face towel and wipes the water from my eyes. “Did you just forget how to use soap?”

I scoff, taking it from him and holding it to my face. I just close my eyes and stay like that, embarrassed and unsure.

Finally, he takes a deep breath in before he says, “If you’re gonna be a little off around me and not tell me why that’s ok i’ll just make it up.

” He shrugs, talking fast and running a hand through his wet hair, “And it’s not gonna be good— you’re not gonna like what i make up.

But I'm gonna believe it, so it’s really— I'll just leave it up to you.

Either you tell me or I'll tell us both.”

I blink.

“Well?” He prompts. “What is it? You want me to move out? We are moving too fast for you? Because I’m pretty sure the apartment down the hall is still available. You can have your own space and you won’t have to wait very long for a booty call, I’ll be like a reverse Doordash. You call, I eat—“

“Ronan!” I interrupt his rant, a disbelieving laugh escaping me. My hand covers my mouth as I double over. He’s hesitant, like he’s not sure what’s funny. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I pull him to me, “You will never be too much for me.”

“Then what is it?”

“When you grabbed your boxers, you left the drawer open.” I start but pause watching his reaction. He’s… calm. Just listening. “There was a paper in there.”

I don’t know what I expected to happen, but it wasn’t for his eyes to soften and a smile to play on his lips.

“Did you read it?”

“Um, well just the front page. I mean, I didn’t mean to, I was just going to close the drawer. It had my name on it.”

He shuts the shower off, grabbing a fresh towel. Without a word, he starts to dry my body off, taking the time to kneel and dry down my legs and feet. He doesn’t take as much care with himself, rubbing it through his hair and down his body in quick motions.

“Come on.” He pulls me with him, not caring that we’re naked.

I sigh happily, feeling giddy at the new intimacy of just existing with him like this.

He pulls the paper from the drawer, before settling us on the bed together.

His back against the headboard and me with my back against his chest. He lays the paper in our lap before scooping my curls off my neck and placing a kiss there.

“So… After seeing the pressure you were under to follow in your Dad’s footsteps, I wanted to make sure you had room for your dreams too.”

I still.

“The first big contract I got with the NHL, I started Sandy’s Donuts.

Got some help from Dante to make it successful and ask him to help set up this trust.” He doesn’t look at me as his fingertips trace up and down my arm.

“You were technically the first Sandy’s scholarship recipient.

I intended it to be an educational trust, in case you needed support pursuing photography. In case your parents wouldn’t.”

I look down at the paper in surprise. Tears filling my eyes without permission. He believed in me? My parents thought photography was a waste of time. Too difficult to break into the industry. Starving artist cliche and all that.

“You ended up doing it all on your own, go figure.” He chuckles, kissing my forehead, “I didn’t even know you had submitted your work to that magazine until Alli was telling everyone she came across about her ‘Famous Photographer BFF.’ After that, I decided to let it grow into something to help others who started out the way I did. ”

“I don’t understand why you didn’t tell me sooner?”

“I… planned on sharing it with you after you medaled.” He says slowly, watching my face now.

“But, I didn’t think it was a good time.

When I asked about photography, it killed me to hear you say you’d never pursue it now.

Then you threw yourself into school, I really didn’t think you were going to pursue it anymore. Figured it hurt too much.”

“It did. At first.” I turn, my lips nearly brushing his. “Thank you for showing this to me.”

He smiles, brushing hair away from my face and tucking it behind my ear. “Makes up for being late, doesn’t it?”

I gasp, shooting up.

“Ronan! Our flight!” I scramble, grabbing clothes and throwing them at him. He laughs as they smack him in the chest. “We can’t be late!”

“Sunshine, I canceled those tickets.”

My head whips around to him, eyes wide.

“You what?” My hand flies to my forehead. Of course he did. Because he doesn’t know what this trip really is.

“We’re taking Dante’s private jet.”

“Private jet?”

He nods, a sexy smirk playing on his lips.

“Get Poppy. She’s gonna love it.”
