Chapter 4 #3
Sidney told her that they could adopt if they wanted children.
His parents were already with the board of health in that they took in children of all ages when they needed a hand up.
One of his brothers did the same thing, and they’d had two children of late that they were watching over for the county.
Did she want to do that? She didn’t know but thought that if the opportunity were to arise, she’d deal with it when it came about.
Dinner was lovely. Sidney and Thatcher seemed to get along really well, and she was happy for that.
They would sign for her too, which was great, and she was able to join in the conversation a great deal.
When the check came, she decided to pay as they had made her evening so nice.
Sidney didn’t say a word about it, and she thought that was really nice.
“Next time I’ll pay.” She nodded her answer to him, and he put his arm around her shoulders. “This was a great night. I’m glad that Thatcher was able to join us, as I’m getting to know him a good deal better. He’s a great kid, and I have fallen in love with him like a son, too.”
“Do you love me?” He told her that he loved her with all that he was. “Thank you. I have fallen in love with you, too. I don’t know if it’s the kind of love that you were hoping for, but I do love you.”
“I don’t know what that means, but I’ll take what I can get from you.
I love you with all that I am.” She was slightly embarrassed when Thatcher said that he loved her as well.
But it didn’t matter. They were a happy family, and she was glad to have them with her.
As soon as she was home, Thatcher went up to his room after telling them goodnight.
She looked at Sidney and asked him if he wanted to spend the night.
“More than I need my next breath. But I have to get up early in the morning, and if I stay we’ll be up all night, and neither of us will get any sleep.
” She was disappointed but knew that he loved his job too.
“The next time we go out, we’ll go back to our house and break it in.
I have a feeling that once we’re there, there will be no quiet sex between us.
I want you to shout out my name when you’re coming. ”
“I hope that I can. Come, I mean. I’ve not had a great deal of experience when it comes to sex and releasing.” He said that he’d help her with that. “I hope so. Now all I can think about is going to bed with you. I hope that I’m not too forward.”
“Never.” After a long kiss goodnight, he left her there.
She was going to have to figure out his schedule so that she’d be able to have sex with him sooner rather than later.
Going to bed later that night, she did worry about what Thatcher would say if she were to leave him here and go to the big house with Sidney.
He’d probably wonder why it had taken her so long to know him.
He was very forward-thinking compared to her, she thought.
Olivia thought about some of the things that Sidney had told her about his family. She figured that was a safe topic to think about and laughed at herself. Just as soon as she was ready for bed, she thought about how magical his mom must be. She’d been around forever and was a time adjustor.
She would, with the help of others like her, go around making sure that the world wasn’t ruined by humans. There were so many times she’d been told that they’d have to take out large areas of time to make it so that the human population wasn’t extinct.
Or it was to save a single human because he was needed in the future for mankind.
They were so good at their job that no one noticed what they were doing, and if there was a glitch in the matrix of things, then it would be explained by déjà vu.
Sometimes a human child would see it, and when they tried to explain what they’d seen, it would just be written off as a kid saying things that weren’t true.
It was hurtful for the child, but easily explained away.
Also, his mother and father were the king and queen of magic.
Right now, they were living in another world where there were unicorns and trolls.
Other beings, too, that people think no longer exist or never were.
She couldn’t wait to go there and see the other creatures and meet his grandmother.
She is said to be very magical as well, but not nearly as much so as Storm and Alexander. Alex to his friends.
It was nearly midnight when she was ready for sleep.
Thinking about all the things that had come to her since meeting Sidney, and now it was as if her life had taken on a new role.
Someday she’d be a wife, something that she never thought would happen, and she had magic.
Much more would be coming her way, too, and she couldn’t wait.
Just having the little bit that she had was more than she could have hoped for.
“Lady Olivia? I’m to tell you that the house will be ready first thing in the morning.
All the inspections have taken place, and the house is ready to be moved into.
Lord Sidney wanted to make sure you knew that before you went to sleep.
” She then noticed that Boom was using sign language as well.
She wondered how many faerie there were that knew sign language and wondered if he’d been chosen for her because he knew it.
“We all know other languages. This one was easy for me because long ago I served another woman such as yourself. She was a good woman, but sadly didn’t want immortality. I miss her daily.”
“I bet you would.” She snuggled down into the blankets and smiled at Boom. “Tell me something, why am I Lady Olivia? And why is Sidney Lord as well?”
“He owns a great castle and is lord of all that reigns beneath him. He’s not been there in some years, but he is well thought of because he continues to take care of the grounds.
It is said that he won it in a great fight one year and has made it so that it’s as beautiful as it has ever been.
” He smiled a little. “All the children of the Lord and Lady Walsh have castles that they won in a great fight. As their dragons, they weren’t easy to defeat, so the castle would become theirs.
I do believe that Lord Fowler has three castles that he cares for. ”
It was well after midnight when Boom left her to go to his own home.
She’d not realized that he had a family of his own and that he cared for them during the time he wasn’t with her.
She wondered again if it was because he could do what she needed in the way of signing to her, but she soon let that go.
She didn’t make these decisions, so she wasn’t going to talk to someone about them until she got to know everyone better.
She just hoped that Boom wasn’t missing too much time with his family, as she knew she would.
Tomorrow, she was going to call the moving company after talking to Thatcher.
She should have done so before now, but had forgotten.
In the morning, she was going to talk to him, then have him sort through his things.
Hopefully, he’d be happy to move into a bigger house.
She wished that she’d spoken to him before now. Oh well, there was always tomorrow.
