Chapter 12 #2
My skin began to buzz, and I found myself wanting desperately to feel his teeth sink into my flesh. I didn’t understand the urge, but I didn’t hesitate to ask, far too caught up in the sensation of his body against mine.
“Julian,” I breathed out, “Bite me.”
When his entire body went rigid at once, I feared I had said something wrong…only to realize that was far from the truth.
Julian pulled back, his eyes swirling with black and gold, their normal warmth filled with shadows and an animalistic hunger.
“Be careful what you ask for, little mate.”
“I know what I asked for.” I felt a whine break from my throat. “Please?”
Julian’s jaw clenched. “I’m not sure I can, not without fucking you up against this wall, and I am not taking you in a locker room hallway for your first time.”
“Couldn’t you try?” I asked softly. “Just a little one?”
My own teeth pulsed at the idea, and I offered softly, “Or could I bite you?”
He inhaled sharply. “Fuck, that could be way worse.”
“Or better.” I had no idea when I’d gotten so bold, but the way my head was swimming with desire, I was willing to bet that I’d strip down in this hallway right here, wanting to feel his fingers against my skin. Wanting to feel them everywhere at once.
“You really want to bite me?” he asked softly, his eyes flashing pure gold for a moment.
“You know that will be the start of the mate marking? The one that will be completed when I slide into this tight little body and bury my teeth on the other side of your throat. Once you mark me, the process, this connection, is unstoppable, so you have to be sure this is what you want, Effie.”
I could tell he was trying to warn me, and I answered his concerns without a second thought, my gut instinct leading the way. “I want this, Julian. I want you.”
Julian tightened his grip on my thighs and pressed against me, his hard cock right at the apex of my thighs and rubbing against me, causing me to have enough friction that I nearly came. I blinked, trying to slow my breathing, but my wolf surged forward suddenly and unexpectedly, causing me to act.
In a second flat, my lips were against the hot skin of his throat and my hands were in his hair as I buried my teeth in him.
I could feel my wolf shifting my teeth into sharper canines as I easily sliced through the skin, Julian’s hot blood flooding my tongue.
I should have been grossed out—after all, I wasn’t good with blood—but instead I felt euphoric.
My toes curled, and I let out a moan as he groaned into my hair, his pulse jumping and his breathing rough.
I shivered as something worked through the two of us—no, the three of us—as Julian, Coffin, and my own magic blurred into a connective gold loop that had my entire being lighting on fire.
I knew he felt it as well because his grip tightened and he wrapped himself around me, as much as possible, both of us completely absorbed in the moment.
Everything about this was so damn right, and when I finally released his neck and pulled back, all I could do was stare at him in shock, feeling almost dazed. The connection between us was absolutely intoxicating.
Which was why I didn’t hear someone enter the hallway until Julian jerked back, letting out a savage noise and pulling me behind him. Instantly, I knew it was one of the men from the table, and the way he leaned against the wall was far too casual and relaxed.
“I didn’t realize the blood-bonded pack was so soft here,” he stated, amused. “It’s dangerous having a bitten wolf walking around without marks, Julian.”
“You shouldn’t have come back here,” Julian snapped, his magic wrapping around me. “SFU kicked you out for a reason.”
The man’s face settled in a dark, angry expression. “Yes, because you decided it would be a good idea to fucking tell on me.”
Julian’s energy turned violent. “Because you fucking raped someone.”
“She wanted it.” He shrugged as if it was nothing. “They always fucking want it.”
That was so wrong and disgusting, I didn’t even know where to begin.
“Can we go back to the stands?” I asked Julian quietly, his eyes snapping down to mine, seeming to relax at me being near him.
It was flattering to realize I had that type of effect on him, but right now my main goal and only focus was getting us out of this situation.
My instincts told me this had the potential to turn violent and dangerous…
Something I wanted to avoid, especially after the past week.
“Yeah.” Julian nodded and led me forward as the man continued to watch us with amusement, a dark smile stretching across his face. “I would highly suggest fucking off before any of the others realize you’re here.”
The man offered a casual shrug, his eyes dark and flat, almost soulless as they turned on me. “I think I may hang around for a bit. Word on the street is that SFU has an unmarked bitten wolf up for sale.”
I was really hoping he wasn’t talking about me.
Julian’s chest produced a lethal noise that had me freezing as the other man’s smile disappeared. I could feel Coffin moving under his skin, and I had a feeling that he was seconds, or words, away from shifting. I also had a feeling that a university hockey game was not the place for that at all.
“Leave. Now.” Julian’s voice was flat, but I could feel the intensity radiating off of him. “This is your final chance. I don’t want to kill you in front of my mate, but one more fucking word and that won’t be an option.”
The guy looked at me before back at him, his pulse jumping. He slowly backed away and offered a shrug as if it wasn’t a big deal…before running out. I swallowed as Julian’s energy almost instantly calmed and he shook his head, looking down at me.
“Let’s get back to the game.”
I nodded, not pushing for the story of what happened. I would find out eventually when Julian wasn’t at risk of shifting unexpectedly and scaring the heck out of everyone nearby. Although, it seemed some of them deserved it.
