Chapter 48 Rivern

Rivern

“Solen, find her. You must…”

I fall to my knees on the cobblestones. Pain so unimaginable, death would be an easier conviction rips through me at an alarming rate—an unwinding of strings. A tether being yanked from my heart.

I grip my chest, losing all breath. My hands rip through my shirt.

A roar sounds from my right, a God with black and silver threads pulling from his chest. It’s beautiful in its horror as he hovers above the ground, his wings bent behind him.

A final tug comes from my body, and suddenly, I’m falling, lost and confused. Love is no longer my compass. Only pain and a never-ending emptiness greet me.
