15. Callie
Callie
Wednesday evenings were the one night of the week that I had to myself.
Oliver went with my ex’s mom and dad for sleepovers and I usually tried to catch up on laundry.
That Wednesday evening, though, I was sitting across my desk from Luke, wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
It’d been a very long day and my brain was exhausted from wrangling an especially cranky and rambunctious group of kids.
I was hitting a wall but Luke had come to help me so I couldn’t just cancel on him.
Plus, there was something about seeing Luke in his element that hit all the pleasure spots in my nervous system.
He’d shown up with print outs, charts, and even an online planner all set up and ready to go, just for me.
I was appreciative but so damn distracted that I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about.
Luke had a thing about balling and releasing his left fist as he spoke and it brought out the muscles and veins in his forearm each time.
He had his thing and I had my thing, which was being obsessed with forearms. He had good arms, long and strong, with big hands and long fingers.
I’d sunk my teeth into his forearm to keep quiet as he fucked me the night we were together.
I knew what his skin felt like between my teeth and what it tasted like with a sheen of sweat coating it.
I licked my lips and might’ve even sighed longingly.
He was just so hot. I figured I had to be ovulating with the way my hormones were going bananas over him.
I’d never been especially horny for looks alone but I was concerned that even if Luke wasn’t a sweet guy I’d want to hump his leg.
I’d worked my eyes up to his lips and definitely sighed.
He was an amazing kisser, slow and controlled.
He’d kissed me and left me desperate for more that night.
The way he rolled his tongue over mine, the way he tasted like mint and chocolate, and the way he lingered before and after kissing me had me fantasizing that we were back by the lake and he was leaning over me.
“Callie.” Luke pressed his palms down on my desk and drew my gaze up to his. His eyes were slightly narrowed and he had this disappointed dad vibe that made me sit up straighter. “You’re not paying attention.”
I swallowed the drool pooling in my mouth over his domineering energy and clamped my hands together in my lap. “I’m sorry.”
He smiled and shook his head. “Come on. Focus for just a little bit longer. I was saying that next week’s meeting should…”
I remembered he’d moaned my name so loud when I licked the shell of his ear. When I sucked at the skin just below, his grip on my hips had turned bruising. His eyes had nearly swallowed me whole with their intensity. I’d never felt so desired in my entire life.
“Okay, I can see that I’m going to have to change strategies.
” Luke glanced at the door to my classroom and rolled his shoulders.
“You’re going to have to focus to get through the meetings with all the vultures circling you.
We both know that focusing isn’t your…strongest attribute…
So, we need to try something different, something that will guarantee your attention doesn’t waiver. ”
I rolled my eyes before I could stop myself. “Unless you’re hiding Adderall in your pocket, I don’t know what you could do to cure my ADHD.”
“Not cure. It’s not a disease. I just think if I provided the right motivation you might tap into a hidden vault of attention. At least for long enough to get through planning the meetings you have to lead.” Luke licked his lips and sat back in his chair. “Will you agree to whatever I say?”
Butterflies erupted in my stomach. “W-what do you mean?”
He leaned forward and rested his elbows on my desk. “Will you agree to whatever suggestion I come up with to help?”
My fingertips drummed anxiously on my thighs. “It won’t be anything horrible, will it? I have a weak stomach and if you try to make me eat something weird, I’ll puke all over you.”
“I don’t remember you having a weak stomach when you were on your knees, sucking us down your throat.” Luke’s voice deepened with the filthy words and his eyes took on a dangerous glint that promised trouble. “It won’t be anything horrible, Cupcake.”
I was so flustered from hearing him so boldly say those words to me that I just nodded. “Yeah. Yes. Sure.”
“Every time you fade out and stop listening to me, I’m going to bend you over this desk and spank you. Hard.” He watched my mouth drop open and his responding grin was slow and seductive. “You can avoid getting spanked if you just stay on track with me. We don’t have much more to get through.”
I was scandalized. “You can’t spank me here. We’re in a school!”
“Like I said, if you don’t want to get spanked here, pay attention.” He leaned even farther across the desk. “This might be the only time I hope for you to quit listening to me.”
The door was shut and it didn’t have a window.
There was a wedge against the wall that I could use to lock the door but that felt excessive and a little kidnappy.
I wasn’t opposed to Luke spanking me while giving me his stern looks; I wasn’t opposed even a little.
It was just the idea of getting caught that had me shaking in my flats.
“I can focus for a few more minutes.” I was trying to convince myself more than tell Luke. I could do it. I would just focus extra hard on focusing. No problem. “Let’s get to it then.”
Luke nodded and turned the tablet around to me.
“You can click on each week and then each day to see a breakdown of the plan. The meetings are going to be up to you, of course, but I jotted down what we should be covering in order to keep the play running smoothly. You can add your own notes here or even attach documents.”
My eyes trailed along with his finger as he pointed and I nodded along with what he was saying. “I can click on things and attach things. Got it.”
“For the meeting this week we need to schedule auditions and figure out which parents are free and willing to help with the auditions.” He balled his fist again and frowned at the tablet. “Let me just add that really quick. You can see how easy it is to add stuff.”
His voice dropped as he fiddled with the tablet and I had to hide a yawn.
It was peaceful and relaxing listening to him basically speak to himself, too peaceful and relaxing.
I yawned again and then thought about how I’d yawned in class that morning and one of my little boys hadn’t yawned, despite staring straight at me.
People always claimed that if someone could watch another person yawn and not respond it made them a psychopath, but Finn was one of the sweetest kids I’d ever taught.
Thinking of psychopaths made me think of serial killers and that made me think of the statistic that the average person will walk past thirty-six murderers in their lifetime.
I was almost thirty so I wondered how many I’d walked past already.
If the average lifespan of an American woman was eighty-one years, then I was thirty-seven percent through my lifespan, meaning in theory, I’d walked past around…
“Well, well, well. It looks like you’ve earned your first spanking, sweetheart.”
