Epilogue - Run Cecil
Cecil had met very different people upon returning to Dusburn. It was as if all of their personalities had been replaced. They were very careful around him, like he would break. Well, except for Hyde and Jekyll…the twins treated him like they always had.
Oh, all except dear Kevin, the meathead. Because he was gone. As it turned out, that son of a bitch had been the one stealing all along—the bastard!
The rest were no doubt being nice out of guilt, but he’d take it over how they had acted before.
He was surprised they were still being pleasant.
It had been months, and yet they continued to try to do anything and everything to make sure he was happy.
If Cecil wanted something, they made sure he got it.
It was possible that he may have been taking advantage of his current situation—just a tiny bit. For the most part, Cecil just asked for sweets. Sin never interfered, so he figured he wasn’t being too unreasonable.
Cecil grimaced—he had learned very quickly which individuals to never request sweets from. Judging by the twins’ laughter, the assholes hadn’t warned him on purpose.
“What are you thinking about?” Sin asked from his spot at the stove.
“Sweets.”
The man chuckled. “Thinking about who you are going to con next?”
“I’d never!” Cecil gasped in false outrage.
Shaking his head, Sin turned and said, “I’m making chilli.” Then the man smiled and repeated the words he had spoken so many months ago, “Would you mind taste testing it for me?”
Cecil giggled, and he was about to respond when the vampire’s phone rang.
“Hold that thought,” Sin laughed while he pulled out his cellphone and answered.
As Sin paled at whatever he was hearing, Cecil’s stomach dropped. His worry only grew when Sin’s face twisted in rage.
Seconds later, the phone shattered in Sin’s hand—the man’s nails had turned into claws.
“W-what’s w-wrong?” Cecil stammered.
Sin dropped the ruined phone and gripped the counter. He could see the man was struggling with his fury. Cecil also saw something else, something odd, in Sin’s eyes. A chill crawled up his spine when they shifted to yellow.
“Benji is missing,” Sin gasped, his claws slicing into the counter. “He’s been—ah—he’s been taken! RUN!” The last word was a roar.
Cecil backed up in fear as Sin’s body started to change.
The End
