Chapter 15

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

TYLER

I sprinkled rose petals over my bed and readied a scented candle on my nightstand to be lit later on tonight. Yeah, I could be romantic too. And tonight would be the first time I’d ever made love—yes, we were making love—without a condom. I’d also prepped myself earlier, so I’d be ready.

Myles stopped in my doorway. “What in the world are you doing?” He stepped inside my room, covering his mouth with the back of his hand and sniggering.

“I’m going bareback for the first time tonight, and I want it to be special.” I threw a glance at him, perusing my room and picking up a rose petal to inspect it. “What?”

“I had no idea you had this in you, Tyler.” He dropped the petal to my blue comforter. “Wait, you’ve never gone bareback?” As his brows lifted, he stared at me.

“I have not.” I moved the dropped rose petal to a better place on the bed. He’d left an open spot. “I’m sort of picky about that, and I’ve never had someone I trusted enough.”

He nodded. “I can see that. You can be a little over the top about certain things.” He patted my shoulder. “Guess it’s a good thing I’m going out tonight. ”

“You are?” My gaze cut to his. “With who?” This was great, now Rowan and I would have the house to ourselves.

“A few of the guys in my corporate communications class.” Leaning in, he ticked his brows at me. “One of them is an ASU football player and has muscles for days.”

“Oh.” I tapped my lips, looking him up and down. “You’re not interested in this guy, are you?” I’d seen that look on his face before, usually when he had his eye on a guy at the gay bar.

“He’s straight.” He walked toward the door. “At least I think he is. Guess I’ll find out.” He waltzed from my room.

“Uh-huh.” I gave my room one last scan and then left, turning the light off. It was time to wait for Rowan.

An hour later, Myles had left, and I looked out the window into the darkening night. The streetlight on the corner had just lit, and the sky was ablaze with streams of orange and turquoise.

Rowan’s Mustang drove to the curb in front of the house and stopped.

He’s here . I flung the door open and jogged outside. He was staying most of the holiday, so who knew how much stuff he’d have brought?

Rowan climbed out of his car with a bright bouquet of flowers in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other. “Hey, Tyler.” He beamed at me with a wide smile.

“Hey, babe.” I threw my arms around his neck and planted a hard kiss on his mouth. Was this what it would be like to have him come home to me every day? God, I was lost in him. After letting him go, I took the flowers and bottle from him and then sniffed the flowers. At least one of them was hella fragrant, like orange blossoms. “These smell terrific.”

“There are a couple of stargazer lilies in the mix. The damn things smell like heaven.” He opened his trunk, hefted his duffel out of it, and closed it. “I hope you like Prosecco. It’s one of my favorites.”

“I love it.” Whatever the hell that was. I didn’t know my bubbly wine drinks at all. As I strolled up the driveway with him, I glanced at the way his team sweats hugged his body. We’d be twins for the night, but who cared. It was comfortable.

While he brought his duffel into my bedroom, I sank the flowers into a pitcher. We weren’t sophisticated enough to have a vase lying around. I set the flowers at the center of our table and admired them. We hadn’t talked about dinner yet.

He strolled out of the hallway, into the main room, and toward me. “Where’s Myles?”

“He’s out.” When he reached me, I hooked my arms around his waist and pulled our hips together, my cock touching his and waking. “So, are you hungry for dinner? We have some left over spaghetti that Ace made, or we could order in?”

“That’s a hard one. I’m sure Ace makes a mean spaghetti…” He twisted his lips. “But I want something special tonight. Especially if we’re going to be alone here.”

Could he be any more perfect for me? “Okay, I know a Thai place close by that has fabulous food.” And it would be nice to have something so different from a Thanksgiving meal.

“Yes.” Cupping my cheek, he pressed a long, slow kiss on my mouth as he lowered his hand to my ass and squeezed.

The pressure on my dick sparked heat in my balls. We were going to have a long session of foreplay tonight while we ate. “Okay, I’ll get the order started. What do you want?” Leaving him, I slid my phone out of the pocket of my sweats and opened my DoorDash app. Scrolling on my phone through the menu, I said, “I’m getting the drunken noodles, by the way.” It was what I always got.

“Yeah?” He edged in next to me, peering into my phone. “Get me the chicken yellow curry. Then we can share.” He kissed my cheek and threw his arms around me from the side, resting his head on my shoulder. “God, Tyler. I don’t know why, but tonight feels?—”

“Special?” I turned my head to look into his deep-blue eyes. We were on the same page.

“Magical.” His eyes twinkled. “I sound like an idiot. I think the dry desert air has gotten to my brain.” His gaze fell to my lips. “Or…you did. You got to me. But not my brain, my heart.” As he crept his gaze back to my eyes, he opened his mouth as if to say more, then stopped.

Emotion flooded my chest. Holy shit, was he about to tell me he loved me? “Magical is the right word, Rowan.” I tapped my phone to place our order and rested my arms over his shoulders. “You did it, you know. I believe you’re absolutely serious about us. I know you’re not experimenting.” My breath caught and my eyes stung. How could I be so lucky? “I trust you with my heart.”

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he gazed deeply into my eyes. “You have no idea how happy that makes me.” Wrapping his hand around the back of my head, he claimed my mouth in a passionate kiss, his tongue slipping between my lips.

After a moment, I broke the kiss. “Champagne?” Which one of us would say the three words first? It was bound to happen.

“Oh yeah.” As his cheeks pinked, he released me and stepped into the kitchen, then unwrapped the plastic cork and pressed on the edge, pointing it toward the ceiling. “Here goes nothing.”

“Don’t you dare spill any of that.” I jogged into the kitchen and snatched two short glasses out of an upper cabinet. I’d throw these glasses under it if it spilled over. As I stepped to his side, I said, “Okay, now do it.”

“You act like I’ve never done this before.” He smirked at me.

“Just open it.” I tsked. Now he was getting cocky.

“Okay, watch out.” With a grimace, he pushed on the edge of the cork again, and it popped off, hitting the ceiling and bouncing onto the couch. Only vapor smoked out of the neck .

“Well done.” With a chuckle, I set the glasses on the counter and watched him pour as he said, “The only thing I wish we had was a fireplace.”

I thought a moment. “I can put one on the television.” I sipped my Prosecco, the cold bubbles on the sweet side. “Damn, this is good.”

“YouTube’s great for that. You ever put on those cozy videos of mountain chalets with snow falling and a crackling fire?” He tried his drink. “I’ve been doing that lately while I study. Reminds me of home.”

Tilting my head, I peered at him. Was he missing home? He hadn’t said anything about it yet. “I do miss the snowy nights in Chicago, but I’ve grown to love the winter here.” But I’d be going back to the cold Chicago winters if I got signed with the Blackhawks…

“Yeah, guess I’m a Bostonian after all.” He chuckled. “Anyway, let’s go sit on the couch and put one of those videos on until our food gets here.”

“Sure.” I followed him to the sofa, watching the sway of his fine ass as it filled out his sweats. God, I loved me a jock butt.

He dropped into the corner of our sectional and laid his arm across the back cushions. “Come in here close to me.”

I turned on the television to the first YouTube video I saw of a mountain cabin with a raging fire and soft snowfall outside the windows and then sat next to him. As I leaned into his chest, I said, “You brought your big duffel. Is your gear in there, or did you bring enough stuff to stay over for the whole holiday?” I arched my brow at him while sipping my drink.

“I was hoping it would be okay to stay until Sunday.” He wrapped his arm around my shoulders, nuzzled into my hair, and breathed me in. “God, you smell good.” He kissed my head. “You feel so good in my arms…”

Was he going to say it? My heart pattered into my throat. He was killing me here. “Yeah? What else?”

A slow smile played over his lips. “I don’t know, I just…I ne ver knew I could feel like this about a guy. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt this way before about anyone.”

“Yeah?” My chest warmed as if the fire in the video was inside me. He was sparking so many feelings. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way before either. You’re so easy to have feelings for.” Okay, now we were both skating around it.

“Tyler.” He lifted his head. “Look at me.”

I faced him, my gaze darting between his eyes. “Yeah?”

His grin waned. “I?—”

The doorbell rang.

We both jumped, and I said, “Fucking hell.” I stared at him for a beat. He had been about to say it. I knew he had.

“Must be the food.” He set his glass on the coffee table, stood, and smoothed his sweatshirt over his chest. “I’ll, uh, I’ll get it.” He opened the door and picked up a bag of food. “Where do you want to eat?”

As I strolled into the kitchen, I said, “We can eat on the couch if you’re okay with that.” Shit, the moment was gone. I grabbed some silverware from a drawer and some plates from a cupboard and then brought them out to the coffee table.

He unpacked the containers onto the coffee table. “I’m glad you guys don’t have some weird rule about eating at the table. I dated a girl once who was like that.” He opened my container of noodles.

“You did?” I spooned noodles onto my plate. He hadn’t spoken much about his past relationships.

“Yeah. She was very picky about her apartment too. Not a thing was out of place.” He scooped rice and yellow chicken curry onto his plate and then added some of my noodles. “How long is Myles going to be out, do you think?”

“I have a feeling he’ll be out most of the night.” I sipped my champagne and twirled my fork in my meal, then ate it, ginger and garlic flavors with a hint of spice exploding in my mouth. “So good.” I tapped my food with my fork .

“You didn’t take any of the curry.” He stuffed rice and curry into his mouth. “Don’t you like it?”

“No, I do.” I let a smirk crawl over my lips. “I’m a one thing at a time guy. Let me eat this, and then I’ll eat the curry.” Funny with how well we knew each other, there were still so many things to find out.

He scratched his head, looking me over. “With the way I’ve seen you eat at team dinners, I hadn’t pegged you as one of those.”

“One of those?” I barked a laugh. “When I’m super hungry after a game, I’m not savoring the food. I’m just trying to fill my belly.” He’d pretty much only seen me like that.

Eating some noodles, he moaned. “Damn, these are good.” He leaned in and pressed a kiss on the corner of my chewing mouth. “What’s next after we eat?” As his gaze shifted toward the hallway to my bedroom, he picked up his Prosecco and sipped it.

“We go into my room for the main event?” Heat shivered over my skin. Tonight would be the first of many times for us this weekend.

After eating and cleaning up, I grabbed his hand and led him from the kitchen, through the main room and hallway and into my bedroom. We’d finished off the champagne and I had a pleasant buzz mixing with my desire for him. I flicked on the nightstand lamps from a switch on the wall, the lamps throwing a soft glow over the rose petals on my bed.

“Holy shit.” He stepped inside the room. “This is very romantic, Tyler.” Running his hand over the bedspread, he brushed over a few of the petals.

I strode to the candle I’d set up and lit it, the fragrance of cinnamon and cranberry filling the room. Now we were here, where should we start? My gaze found his .

He stared at me, his lips parted and darkened eyes wide. “This is the first time for both of us.”

“It is.” I stepped to him, cupped his cheeks, and kissed him slowly, with long sweeps of my tongue. As I pressed our hips together, my cock jumped to life.

His kisses came quicker and harder, and he grabbed my ass, his solid cock swiping over mine. Nuzzling down my neck, he inhaled a ragged breath. “This is so perfect, Tyler.” He nibbled my neck and worked his way up the skin to suck my earlobe.

Goosebumps broke out over my neck and shoulder, and I shuddered, throwing my head back and exposing more skin to him. “I did some, uh, pre-prepping earlier.”

Rubbing his palm over my dick and balls through my sweats, he said, “You did. You naughty boy.” He smiled against my neck and bit. “I can’t wait to be inside you, and don’t you dare worry about my knee. It’s fine.”

My cock twitched against his palm. Shit, I’d almost forgotten about the knee, but we could still work around it.

“I want to face you tonight.” He pressed biting kisses along my chin and sucked my lower lip into his mouth, and then freed it. His gaze locked to mine, and his hand gripped my nape. “Maybe I’m a little old-fashioned, but I want missionary this time.”

The edge of my lips curled in a soft grin. “We can do that.” I devoured him in penetrating kisses, rutting my aching cock into his. I was so hard it hurt.

With harsh kisses, he walked me backward to the bed and pushed me down onto my back. “You’re so damn beautiful, Tyler. You know that?” As his heated gaze roamed over me, he grabbed the band of my sweats and slipped them off my legs along with my briefs. “Look at that thick cock of yours.” Bending over me, he licked up my shaft and sucked on the head. “So fucking good.” He bent my legs up and came onto the bed on his good knee. “Fuck…” He licked me from the base of my balls up to my crown .

My eyes rolled back as sensation sparked through my body, a husky moan working out of my throat. “Fuck me, baby.” My hole clenched with anticipation and my cock pulsed, leaking precum onto my stomach. He’d barely touched me, and I was so ready for him.

“Lube?” Stepping off the bed, he undressed and tossed his clothing into the corner.

“Drawer.” I could barely think, let alone talk. Flinging the drawer open on my nightstand, I pointed at it and then shucked off my sweatshirt.

As a coy smile spread over his lips, he snatched the lube and squirted it on his fingers, then fell down over me on the bed between my legs, one straight arm by my head holding him up along with his good knee.

I bent my legs, bringing my knees to my armpits, exposing myself to him. “I’m all yours.” More than my body, he had my whole heart.

He circled my hole with his slick fingers and slipped one inside, his face tensing. As he dropped onto his elbow, his hot cock nudged mine and jerked. His head dipped. “You have no idea how hard it is for me to hold back right now. Holy fuck.” He groaned and rolled his hips, our dicks brushing against each other.

Pleasure tingled deep inside me and out to my toes. “I don’t need much prepping.” I grabbed his cheeks, forcing him to look at me, his pupils blown and lips parted and swollen.

“B-but I can’t just put it in, can I?” He wrinkled his brows. “I don’t want to hurt you.” His teeth sank into his lower lip.

Oh, fucking hell, I didn’t even care at this point. “Just do it. I’m ready. I don’t mind a little pain, really.” My hole tightened over his finger. I wanted to feel the pressure of him, the burn, all of it.

Fixating on me, he slicked his cock with more lube, hissing as he stroked himself, and nudged his cockhead to my hole. “You sure?” His gaze searched my face .

With a nod, I said, “I’m sure. I want to feel this, every second of it.” I braced myself and pushed against his dick as the head slipped inside me.

“Oh fuck…” His eyes dazed and his mouth dropped open as he slowly slid inside me.

As the burn filled me, I relaxed and breathed through it and then snuck my hand between us to stroke my waning dick. This was good, so fucking good, because it was him, and there was nothing between us. No contracts, no families in different cities, no bullshit.

As his balls rested against my ass, he claimed my mouth in searing kisses and pulled out, then thrust in again. A throaty moan ripped free of him, and he broke the kisses. “This is like heaven, babe.”

“It is.” The burn subsided and only pleasure remained, his bare cock thrusting into my hole again and again, shooting sparks up my spine with every snap of his hips.

As he went on and on, pressing hard kisses on my lips and neck, filling me with heat and friction, his body trembled and sweat slicked his forehead. “Fuck, getting close.”

I stroked my sensitive cock faster and wrapped my legs around his hips. I could be there with him in a second. “Me too.”

His gaze found mine, and he stopped his hips, holding his dick firmly inside me. As his gaze softened, he brushed a lock of wet hair from my brow. “Babe? I love you.” His eyes grew glassy.

I swallowed a lump crawling up my throat. Holy fuck, he said it? He said it. Emotion swelled through my chest. “I love you too.” I brushed my knuckles down his cheek. “So much.”

With a soft smile, he said, “Good, now I’m coming.” With sharp thrusts of his hips, he pummeled me into the mattress and cried out, his face tensing and muscles flexing.

I fell over the edge, intense contractions pinching my insides and shuddering sensation all the way to my curling toes. Moaning with each one, hot cum painted my chest, hitting my chin.

As it slowed, he fell over me with a rush of air and panted, coiling his fingers into a lock of my hair, his dick sliding out of me. “Holy fuck, you’re amazing.”

“You too.” I lost myself in the feeling of him over me and the intense closeness between us. I wasn’t sure what to say. There were no words…

“Tyler?” He propped onto an elbow and swept his gaze to mine.

“Yeah?” Combing a long bang off his forehead, I pressed a soft kiss on his mouth. Apparently, he was not at a loss for words.

“You said you’re vers, right?” He knitted his brows.

“I did.” My spent dick took notice. Was he willing to bottom for me?

As the corner of his lips quirked, he said, “I never thought I’d be asking this, but it looks like you really enjoyed having me, uh…” His cheeks flushed.

“You want to try bottoming?” With a sly grin, I lifted my brows. I’d just say it for him.

“Yeah, I think I do.” He brushed his knuckles over my cheek and shrugged. “I mean, why should you get all the fun?”

“All the fun?” My grin widened. “I have to admit, bottoming feels like nothing else. You should experience it at least once.” Hot damn, would he let me top him this weekend? We had four whole days.

“And if I really like it?” He tilted his head.

“Then we can take turns.” I arched a brow. “It opens up so many possibilities.” Grabbing the back of his head, I hauled his lips to mine, planting a hard kiss on them. Heat dribbled between my legs. “Oh shit.”

“What?” He looked me over. “Are you okay? I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

A chuckle rumbled out of me. “No, I’m just leaking. We should get up.” And by the feel of it, he’d dropped quite a load inside me.

“Oh.” His face reddened all the way to his ears, and he rolled off me.

As I climbed off the bed, a blob of his cum trickled down my inner thigh. Okay, this was a hazard of bareback I hadn’t thought about.

With a slow grin, he lay back on the bed, watching me, and said, “Damn, that’s hot.”

Huffing a laugh, I shook my head. “I’m going to go clean up.” I snatched a tissue out of a box on my dresser, wiped up what I could and headed to the bathroom in the hallway.

After we both cleaned up, we put our team sweats back on and ambled from my room to the main room. Myles still wasn’t home, so the house was still ours. My gaze caught on the couch. “Watch a movie or something?” And cuddle?

He strolled into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. “I’ve heard it’s not good to mix champagne with beer, so you want a water or a Gatorade?”

“Does it matter if we’re a little hung over tomorrow? We can sleep in for once.” I dropped into the corner of the couch.

“You know what? You’re right. Fuck it.” He pulled two canned beers out of the refrigerator and snicked them open. As he made his way to me, he handed me one and sank in beside me. “Do you think we can find Die Hard ? It’s almost Christmas.” He sipped his beer and bumped into my shoulder.

“I’m sure we can find it.” As I tucked myself into the cushions, I straddled him. “Come here,” I said, patting my chest. Commence cuddle session.

He smirked and rested over my chest, bringing his legs onto the couch in between mine. “This is nice, Tyler. Goddamn, no wonder I fell in love with you.” With a quick chuckle, he drank more beer.

Wrapping my arms around him, I squeezed him to me as warmth exploded in my heart. “You say the most perfect things, Rowan. I’m such a lucky man.” I kissed his hair, then picked up the remote and turned on the television.
