Chapter Fifteen #2
“We are right for each other.” He cupped her cheek and treated her to a series of deep, drugging kisses that further worked to see her undone a second time. Once he’d finished, he grinned. “Ready?”
“Always.” Tears once more sprang into her eyes.
A few spilled onto her cheeks. “For everything.” She twined her arms about his shoulders.
Dear Lord, she adored the solidness of him!
“Fuck me.” Oh, that word she’d heard from him occasionally felt wicked and dark on her tongue, but oddly proper in this moment.
“I need you this instant. Hard, fast, definitive, but I must feel you moving inside me else I’ll turn to madness. ”
His eyes darkened and his lips formed an “o” of surprise, but he nodded. “I think I might have become a bad influence on you since becoming engaged and now married.” Once more he delved a hand between them, and this time he manipulated the buttons on his wet from the sea frontfalls.
“As if that is a bad thing, Major.” She giggled, for her soul was so light it could fly about the room. “With you, I am free to be myself.”
“I know the feeling well.” With more haste than finesse, Felix fought against the fabric of her damp shift. “Lift up for me. This is stuck to your skin.” When she did and batted his hand away, she took his hard length in her palm. A shiver went through his frame. “Caro…”
“Hush. You are mine just as I am yours.” She curled her fingers around that hot, silky skin and then pumped his impressive member before guiding the head of it to her opening.
And then, before he could move, she slammed down, impaling herself fully.
Immediately, pleasure welled up so great tears fell to her cheeks. “Mmm.”
“Like that, do you?” His question had a breathless quality. There was something powerful about bringing a man to his proverbial knees merely by offering her body.
“Oh, yes.”
“Good, then let’s see about sending you flying.” He grasped her hips and helped to guide her movements. “Come down while I thrust up until you find a rhythm you like.” Then he gasped. “Will this harm the babe?”
“The midwife I saw before coming out to Brighton assured me it would not. If anything, the rocking will soothe the little one and bring a sense of calm.”
“Very well, then.”
Caroline nodded, for her ability to speak had been flung away in the face of the wonderful sensations zipping through her being.
She rode her husband to the best of her ability while holding onto his shoulders.
With each bounce and gyration, her breasts jiggled, the nipples brushing against the crisp hair on his chest and providing added stimulation.
Over and over, their bodies came together, pushing her closer to that shimmering edge.
True to his word and her request, Felix claimed her body with all the intensity she could imagine. With every stroke, the pressure that stacked and built low in her belly strained at its boundaries, and still he continued in his quest to apparently drive her into insanity.
Eventually, Caroline’s strength faded. He shifted them, dumped her onto the sofa and then settled between her splayed legs, once more entering her body.
As she murmured words of encouragement, his thrusts changed, quickened, and his strokes became harder, faster, touched every throbbing part of her until her world tilted.
“Felix!” A cry left her throat, and Caroline shattered as intense release sucked her under, sent her flying.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as intense happiness cocooned her.
Felix pushed twice more into her convulsing passage.
He grunted out her name and then groaned with satisfaction as his member pulsed and jumped.
Seconds later, he slumped over her, and she reveled in the heavy weight of him pinning her to the sofa.
“You are incredible in so many ways,” he whispered into her ear.
Caroline wrapped her arms around him, loath to give him up just yet. “As are you. Old man indeed.”
He chuckled. “Did that give you the assurance you sought?” He smiled against the side of her neck.
“Yes.” The drumming of her heartbeat marched in tandem to his for a few seconds as they lay together. Each time he moved a fraction of an inch, tingling sensation accosted her in the most delicious of ways.
“Good.” He pushed upward enough that he could peer into her face. “You’re crying.” Immediately, concern clouded his eyes. “Have I harmed you?”
“No. In fact, I’m quite happy. Truly.” Caroline lifted a hand and cupped his cheek. She smiled when he nuzzled into her palm. “I can’t wait to see where our lives go from here.”
“I share that sentiment.” Eventually, he eased into a sitting position and set his breeches to rights as she reclined on the sofa, content to revel in the lethargy despite the damp shift. “Shall we retire for the night?”
“I would like that, and I’ll do so in a few moments when I can walk again.”
“Ha.” Felix stood and then leaned over her, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I still can’t believe you’re mine. Truth to tell, I’ll probably wake up three years from now and still feel as amazed as I am today.”
How adorable was he? Heat filled her cheeks. She reset her bodice of her shift as best she could. “I feel as if we are starting again, this time with no secrets between us.”
Thank goodness.
“You are certain there is nothing else you’d like to confess?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Nothing. My soul is free.”
“And mine is flying.” Surprising her, Felix knelt at her feet and pressed his lips to her belly.
“I’m so glad I married you, Caroline, and I’m excited to meet our babe during the Christmastide season.
” When he met her gaze, honesty and love shone there.
“Thank you. For everything. I know I don’t show how I feel or say it in so many words… ”
“Hush, Major. You are everything you need to be.” She combed her fingers through his blond hair. “But thank you for saying this.”
Perhaps everything would go smoothly from here on out.
