Chapter 11 #6

Smoke pulled me down until our foreheads hit, but his hips never stopped. “You better fuckin’ mean that shit, Lacey.”

“I mean it!”

“Promise me.” My breath caught, and Smoke fucked another broken moan out of me before I could answer him. “Promise me, Lace.”

“I promise. I promise.” My fingers tightened around the back of his neck as I rode him harder. “Cum with me, baby.”

“I gotchu,” he grunted, plunging up into me as I slammed down on him, and we both lost it.

My whole body seized before I started shaking on top of him, and Smoke’s arms locked around me as a deep growl tore from his chest. He shuddered underneath me while I moaned his name against his mouth, both of us coming so hard that all we could do was hold on to each other while the seat rocked beneath us.

My face dropped against Smoke’s neck as I fought to catch my breath.

His chest heaved against mine just as hard, his arms still wrapped around me while my thighs trembled around his hips.

Neither of us said shit. I could hear him breathing beside my ear, rough and uneven, while the last little pulses kept tightening my pussy around him.

“Fuck,” Smoke breathed, rubbing his hand slowly down my back.

I was still trying to breathe when the Ferris wheel jerked beneath us and started moving. “Oh, shit!” I snatched my head up.

“I know. Get up.”

I scrambled off his lap while Smoke hurried to put his dick away. The warm mess between my thighs immediately made me squeeze my legs together. “Oh, my fucking God.”

Smoke looked down between my legs, then back at me while he tied his sweatpants. “Yeah, you might wanna handle that shit before we get back to Leon.”

“No fucking shit. Help me.”

“All that fuckin’ screamin’ and shit, but now you embarrassed.”

“I was not screaming.”

Smoke looked at me. “Lace, that nigga prolly know my government name and how you like to fuck now.”

I stared at him before a laugh busted out of me. “Shut the hell up.” I punched him in the arm, and that only made him laugh harder.

“I’m just sayin’.”

“You’re so fucking stupid.” I was laughing too hard to even sound mad as I smacked him again.

Smoke caught my hand before I could hit him a third time and kissed my knuckles, still grinning while I fixed my panties as best I could.

Truthfully, there wasn’t much fixing the warm mess between my thighs as I pulled my dress down. “This is disgusting.”

“Nah, that shit was fire.”

“Sherrod!”

“What?” He laughed. “You the one climbed on my dick in public.”

“And you could’ve stopped me.”

Smoke looked at me like I had said the dumbest shit imaginable. “Now why the fuck would I do that?”

I laughed again and shoved his shoulder before sitting back against the seat. My legs were still shaky, my hair had to look a mess, and I was trying not to think about what my face looked like.

“Fix yo’ face,” Smoke muttered. “You look guilty as hell.” That sent me right back into laughter.

The seat swung into the loading area, and Mr. Leon reached for the bar. I pressed my lips together so hard they hurt while Smoke sat beside me, looking entirely too fucking calm. Mr. Leon lifted the bar and looked from Smoke to me, then back to Smoke. “Y’all enjoy the ride?”

Smoke stood first and held his hand out for me. “Best one I had in years.”

I slapped his arm as I stepped down. “Sherrod!”

Smoke laughed and caught me around the waist before my shaky legs could embarrass me even worse. Mr. Leon shook his head and turned away, muttering something about grown folks while I buried my burning face against Smoke’s chest.

“Come on, nasty ass,” Smoke said, still laughing as he walked me away from the ride.

The carnival had completely shut down now.

Workers were cleaning up, vendors were closing trailers, and Main Street was finally starting to look like the small town it actually was again.

I requested my Uber as we walked, and Smoke didn’t let go of my hand, and I didn’t ask him to.

We walked until we reached the corner where my Uber was waiting.

“That them?” He nodded towards the Audi.

“Yeah.” I stepped closer and wrapped my arms around him as he held my waist. “I’m calling you when I land,” I reminded him.

“You better.”

“I will.”

“And soon as I know somethin’, you gon’ know what’s up.”

“I know.”

He pulled back and looked at me. “Go handle yo’ shit, Lacey.”

I smiled even though my eyes were starting to water. “You too.” Smoke kissed me again, and I had to force myself to pull away before my Uber left my ass. He opened the back door when the car stopped and waited while I got inside. I looked up at him and said, “I love you.”

Smoke’s hand tightened around the top of the door. “I love you more.”

He closed it, and I watched him through the window as the car pulled away.

Yes, I was leaving, but it didn’t feel wrong or forced.

I knew where I stood with Smoke, and more importantly, I knew where I wanted to be.

There was still plenty of shit that could go wrong between us.

This time, I was staying locked in with Smoke long enough to find out.
