EPILOGUE

PARKER

O ur wedding was actually pretty perfect. It turns out, behaving like a Barnett and surprising your spouse with a wedding really is pretty normal behavior in this town. So when I asked my new friends for help, they all jumped at the chance to help me drop one of the guys into an unexpected wedding, instead of the other way around.

The difference between us and the caveman men in this town is that us girls and Henry planned a gorgeous outdoor wedding with flowers, a dress, suits, and a reception in a party tent at the Barnetts for afterward.

Danny happily said I do, and we got married in front of all of my new town friends. The only people who missed out on our nuptials were mine and Danny’s actual family. Surprise weddings after only days, or weeks, might be the norm here in Rockhead Point, but in the real world, I know my mom and sister would have kicked up a fuss if we’d have told them we were tying the knot.

Instead, we plan to tell them we’ve gotten engaged in a few months and then plan a fun summer wedding next year, where we’ll renew our vows in front of all the people who matter to us.

I’m not pregnant. Danny was a little bummed, but he’s okay with us waiting for a while. Or at least that’s what he told me, but we’ve still not had the talk about birth control, and we’re still not being careful, so I guess we’ll just see what happens.

When I came to Rockhead Point, I was determined to keep Danny in the friend zone, determined to make sure that he never knew how much I wanted him. But thankfully, love just can’t stay hidden in this crazy Montana mountain town.

Our relationship smouldered too hot to ever stay just friends, and now I’m married to my best friend and living a life I’ve only dreamed of. I have a great job, the best new friends who already feel like family, and a man who loves me so much he really does own me, heart, body, and soul.

Coming here was the best decision I never made. Because just like the saying goes, our love truly was friendship set on fire, and I’m happy to live in the flames with my very own Montana mountain protector.
