Chapter Twelve
Parker
I hike her thigh up over my hip and slide deep into her welcoming hot, wet pussy, then pump into her lazily so she can feel every barbell drag against her inner walls while grasping the meat of her ass roughly.
My tongue swirls around a thick nipple, my lips parting to suck her deeper into my mouth, parting my lips again to let her go and deliver rapid little licks beneath it, bouncing it on my tongue again.
This time we had reached for each other in the middle of the night.
This toxic, codependent need for each other is so much more than that. My heart bleeds for her, and hers beats for me. The trepidation of what’s to come is what's making us reach for the other in the dark.
Two heathens looking for a way out of limbo and finding paradise within each other instead.
Now we just have to get our missing piece back.
“God, babydoll, you feel so good,” I murmur against the skin of her shoulder, my fingers rake down the expanse of her back down to her hip, her thigh, and back up to her hip so I can force her to stay as she grinds down harder on my dick. “You need all of me, don’t you, baby?”
Her head tips back, giving me more access to her throat, so I kiss there, too, pressing my lips against the pulse point, feeling the soft moan that escapes her vibrate against the skin of my lips.
“All of you, every time, my love,” she whispers into the cold, dead night.
I tug her closer, unrelenting in the swift, cataclysmic destruction of her soul.
She grips me just as tight, fingernails digging into my lats, kissing tiny, feather-soft kisses under my jaw, along my throat, and my chest, only to come back to my lips.
She pulsates around me, but I want to carry it out longer. I stop moving, simply kissing her, keeping my cock trapped in her drenched vise. “Look at me, Bri. Be with me...”
Pear-green eyes lock on mine, a glistening of sweat on her forehead despite the chill. She smiles slightly. “I am with you, Parker. Forever.”
My heart cracks open at the honesty in her eyes.
She tilts her pelvis, and she gasps, stare still locked on mine. “Now give me all of you.”
“You own all of me, baby.” I groan, loving the fissures that erupt in the back of my skull when she shifts, undulating her hips, fucking me back.
I’m at her mercy, and I never want it to end.
“There you go, baby. Mmhmm.” I jerk into her, hissing when she clenches around me.
I tilt my hips up. “Grind your hips down a bit more, pretty girl. Take all of me. Oh, fuck… There you are, that’s it.
” A shiver rolls down my spine and my eyes cross when her breath hitches.
“I know what you need. Arch your back so I can get you there. Let me hit that spot for you. Mmhmm. I wanna feel that pretty clit rub on me. Fuck, your pussy is amazing. You got me fucked up for you. You know that, don’t you, baby? ”
“Forever, Parker. Tell me it’s forever. UGH!” She gasps my name again when I drag my cock back barely an inch and thrust all at once.
“Forever, baby. Goddamnit. Fuck. God, I love you. More, baby. Don’t stop. There it is.” My hips shift, pistoning in and out in a frantic, merciless rhythm, but she’s meeting me thrust for thrust. Fuck, my girl is so goddamn good at fucking me. Decadent and harrowing is her love for me.
“Come with me. Don’t stop. Savage—I—Oh, come with me, please…”
Right when I feel her inner walls contract around me to suck me in deeper, she reaches up and kisses me so savagely, her tongue sliding and sweeping against mine, lips bruising, nails digging into my shoulder.
That white-hot feeling travels from the base of my skull to my lower spine, shooting to my abdomen, and I erupt with her with an animalistic groan. “Take my cum, baby. Fuck. Brina. Baby.”
Every single tremble of hers is mine as we hold onto each other, neither daring to be the first to let go.
Moments after reaching that cliff and diving off together, I'm still tucked inside of her, and she's now resting on top of me beneath the sheet and comforter, both our heads turned to the window, watching the sky now showing bleak signs of color.
Bleak, because it means this next idea of ours may or may not work.
And if it doesn't—she's alone on an island where we don't even know if her phone will work or not.
All of my militant training is ricocheting in my brain.
If we surround the island, he could lash out and hurt her.
If we infiltrate, he could do the same—hurt her and then himself—before we get answers to where Maksim is located.
The games are played by initiates. At least that’s what Tildy has told us she's gathered from gossiping wives over the years.
Sometimes, Initiates go out of their way to capture more people who are thrown into the mix, so they have more people to hunt.
So as I lie here next to my gorgeous girl, holding her for what feels like dear life, the best thing I can come up with is: be at the ready.
Do not under any circumstances let her fade from your sight.
Whether that be the dot on my phone that tells me her exact location or her image altogether.
My stomach coils and uncoils at the thought of her being alone with that fucking psychopath.
I heard every word he said to her in that goddamn library only hours ago, like what he did to her had been zapped from his brain.
The way she so easily let him touch her.
I know it was all a show; I have my faith in her.
My complete trust. It's him I don't trust. Men like that…
have their minds warped at a young age that they're owed something and entitled to everything.
“Tell me something good, Savage.” Her voice comes in a hoarse whisper even though we're the only two in this wing of the Barclay Manor. “Tell me what demons you're talking to in your mind.”
I grin, but it's weak. “As soon as you get on the island or wherever you're going, make sure to verify where all the exits and windows are—”
“Make sure all of them work and lead out of the building,” she finishes playfully.
But that look behind her green eyes is anything but playful.
It’s determination. Every piece of imparted wisdom on my end, on Rossi and Bianchi’s, and Maks’s has stayed inside her mind.
An intelligent mind that she’s been known to play off as ditzy—but she’s fucking sharp.
Raven may be Karma, but Sabrina is a pink dagger in disguise.
I blink down at her, twirling her silky hair between my fingers. “What else, baby girl?”
“Don’t break.”
I dip my chin. “Who do you break for?”
“You and only you,” she states, meaning me and Maks. Only ever us. Like we’ve trained her.
“If you don’t see me, you’re not allowed to break.” It feels like I’m going to break. I hate this. There’s a pressure in my chest that’s grabbing hold of me and not letting go. Fucking Murphy’s law. I let out a soft grunt.
She trails her fingers over my tattoos and puts her hand just beneath my healing wound. I can feel the warmth of her fingertips. A soothing comfort in the midst of this invisible blizzard. “I said something good, Savage. Not another lesson.”
I tell her the truth instead. “It’s hard for me to allow myself to hang back and not protect you. Those are the demons I carry, Bri. None of this feels right to me. I know you have to do this, but I fucking hate it.”
Heartbeats pass between us before she gingerly cups my face with her small hand and kisses the corner of my lips. “Then I'll tell you something good. Er, as good as it can seem. Probably sad now.”
I give her a nod, not letting her escape my grasp.
“Maksim and I found a judge that would marry us so our marriage would be in all the ways that matter… legal. The night… The evening of Halloween, we were going to tell you. We had everything planned. All the paperwork prepped. I didn’t mean to not tell you I love you.
Okay, I did. But with purpose, love. I swear it.
I was going to get down on one knee and propose.
” She frowns, then shakes her head. “I have had your ring in my valise since that day, hauling it with me because as soon as we find Maksim, and Damon sees him fit, I’m going to marry and carry your last name.
Both of your last names. Damn whomever deems it improper.
I will love you in the light and in the darkness, and I will claim you for myself. ”
My heart crashes against my ribcage in crazy loud thumps, my blood going haywire, racing and slowing. “Bri, baby—”
“Which is why I promise you I'll come back to you, Savage. You know how much I hate filling out tedious paperwork for hours and finding it to be a complete waste.”
I can’t help the grin from forming on my face and let out a soft chuckle. “Marry me, huh?”
“You trust me?”
I incline my head. “I do.”
“Then I swear to you, I’ll be back. I know for now we have nothing to go on or nothing to go by, but I promise you, as much as you’ve promised me you’ll never leave me”—she glares at me— “trust that I'll find every way to come back to you. Every time.”
And so, we make love one last time before a car shows up to whisk her away from me just before the sun rises. My heart sinks when I realize it’s a tiny thing and it’s too small for me to sneak into the trunk.
I follow by car as closely as I can until I’m parked by a tree, watching the damn thing roll onto a goddamn ferry. I pull up my phone, then the app that shows me her location. I follow it until it’s stopped moving and she’s in the middle of the goddamn ocean.
I head back to Barclay Manor to get ready for Phase Two—whatever that entails—when all three of Raven’s men practically march up to me.
“Have you seen her?”
“Who?” I ask, pocketing my phone again after making sure Sabrina’s pink dot hasn’t moved.
“Raven!” Damon declares. “We haven’t been able to find her. As soon as we woke up, she was gone. She could have sleepwalked—it’s fucking cold out there!”
“How long ago did you wake up? Did you check her location?”
Jonas shakes his head and runs back to their room.
“We just woke up about ten minutes ago. We were hoping she was here in the manor, but we’ve checked about a dozen rooms, including the library.
” Mav sighs, hands on his hips. After a few more seconds of silence, all we hear is a string of expletives coming from the other room.
And we all run to see Jonas holding his phone, panting, looking heartbroken as fuck.
“She’s in the middle of the goddamn ocean! ”
“Ah, shit,” I mutter. I reach for his phone, fish mine out, and pull up the app. Sure enough—Sabrina and Raven are in the same fucking spot.
“Take me to her!” Jonas demands.
I shake my head. “I can’t, man. There’s no way to get there but by a goddamn boat. I don’t have one of those.”
Panicking, he calls her, and we all hear when the call won’t go through. He rubs his chest then his stomach. “Damon!”
But Damon just looks as lost as I feel.
Jonas shakes his head. “Nah, man. No fucking way. Mav!”
I suck in my cheek and look for Aleksi’s number, dialing him immediately, grateful he answers on the second ring. “Hey man, we got a problem.”
“What’s that?”
“The Duchess is secure at the island. Unfortunately, it seems a bird followed her.”
Jonas whines, turning green before my very eyes, and goes to Damon for comfort. Mav stares at me with a frown.
“Oh, shit.” Aleksi huffs out.
I rub my fingertips across my forehead, then scrub down my face, hand landing on my hip. “Yeah. Any chance you have some kind of connection that can get us as close to that island as possible? Between those two, something real bad is about to go down on that island.”
He sighs. “Let me see what I can do. Can you send me the coordinates of the island?”
I fiddle with my phone and send him exactly that. “Sent.”
“Give me an hour.”
“We’ll be there by then.”
“Alright.” He hangs up and we disperse, taking less than that hour to get to our new headquarters at the Winters’ Estate, and I can't help but stare at Charlie’s monument when we pass it, just as the first snowflakes begin to fall.
