Alexandra

My mind is spinning in a whirlwind. I can’t even function with my mom and James in the same room.

I mean I knew they would both be here, but mentally I wasn’t ready.

James seems to feel it, or he just wants me closer because he wraps his arm around me, pulling me tight to his side.

There are so many people around I’m starting to panic a little.

James veers us to the right, opens a door to the fanciest bathroom I’ve ever seen, and ushers me inside. I hear a lock click behind me then his arms are circling me again, and he spins me to face him. “Hey, are you okay?”

I press my hands to his chest and try to match my heartbeat to his. “I will be.” I slide my hands to the back of his neck and pull his mouth down to mine. He kisses me, slow and soft, before pulling back.

“Alex?” James looks into my eyes, searching .

“James.” I trail my hands down his chest to his suit jacket and start undoing the buttons.

His breathing increases. “What are you doing, babe?”

I stop and look up at him through my lashes. “Well, I’m going to calm myself down by using my new boyfriend .” I watch his eyes dilate as he takes in what I’m saying. I almost laugh, but I’m able to hold it in. “Unless …”

His voice is husky with need. “Unless what?”

“Unless you don’t want it?” I take a step back, but his hands snap out latching onto my hips and pulling me flush against his chest.

“There is no world where I wouldn’t want you, Alex.

” My heart skips. I stop breathing, lips parting.

I don’t know what to say. But it doesn’t matter because his mouth is on mine in an instant.

His hands slide down my hips, cupping my ass as he lifts me, and backs me up until I feel a cold counter slide underneath me.

I reach blindly, fumbling as I unclasp his belt and slack buttons before freeing him.

Banging on the door behind James has me laughing.

James covers my mouth with one hand while he expertly slides my dress up with the other.

“Sorry babe, we are going to have to be quick before they go get the master key.” Before he can finish his sentence, he’s slamming into me causing my laugh to turn into a moan.

He keeps his hand secured across my mouth, muffling my sounds, as he hits that delectable spot with each thrust. I come with a scream, my pent-up energy releasing from my body like a shock wave.

His movements escalate, causing my orgasm to continue to rock my body as he comes inside of me, shaking from the sheer force.

A muffled curse comes from behind the door as the person hits it one more time and stomps away, finally giving up. I let a halfhearted giggle loose as I rest my head against James’s shoulder trying to catch my breath.

He holds me, rubbing small circles across my back. “Are you feeling better, love?” When he feels me nod against his shoulder, he slowly slides out of me with a hiss and goes to the sink. A moment later, he comes back with a warm wet cloth and kneels between my legs.

“What are you doing?”

I feel the cloth press against my sensitive flesh. “Cleaning you, remember? I made you dirty, so now I’m going to make sure you’re nice and clean.” His fingers replace the cloth as he slides into me, curling the tips making my head fall back.

“And … this?” I ask, barely able to breathe.

His strokes continue. “I need to get my semen out of you, so you’re not uncomfortable the rest of the night. Just relax.”

And I do. I let him pull every drop of himself out of me while I climb another crest. The second orgasm slams through me.

My knees are shaking, but he doesn’t stop until I’m writhing under his touch.

He slowly slides his fingers from me, then reaches for a fresh cloth.

I jolt as the fabric touches my sensitive skin.

“Easy, Baby. I’ve got you,” he says .

I slide off the counter letting my dress fall to just above my heels.

The silky material glides across me like a light touch, leaving me shivering.

Spinning, I check my makeup in the mirror and pull my nude lip liner out of my clutch to put on another light layer.

I smooth my hair and smirk at James as he stands just behind me, watching.

“You’re spectacular.” He presses a kiss to the back of my head.

“Are you ready to brave the crowd again?”

He holds his hand out to me, so I place mine on top. He spins me towards him, chest to chest. “Let’s do it.”

I push my shoulders back, spine straight, and let him lead us out of the restroom. I can’t believe we just did that, but damn am I glad it was with James. I don’t think I could ever feel as safe as I do when I’m with him.

His smile is blinding when he looks at me, and I feel like I can walk on top of the world.

No one looks towards us when we leave, which frankly, shocks the hell out of me.

I expect it to be more like the movies where everything stops, music to a halt, and they turn knowing exactly what happened in that bathroom.

But everyone continues with their conversations and meals as James leads us to the far table in the front row.

I notice his cousins are already seated with Jaz and Ashlyn at the table.

Ashlyn flashes me a smile before diving back into her conversation with Ryder.

Alester is sitting on the other side of Ryder looking into a glass of whiskey while Jaz is flailing her arms wildly talking to an older woman sitting next to Alester.

I know what those arms mean–research. Luckily the woman looks like she’s enraptured with Jaz’s project, which I’m sure she’s going into great detail about. The girl loves her science.

“Wow. Great of you to finally show up, cousin!” Ryder jumps up to hug James with one arm.

James grunts, returning the gesture. “I’ve been here. Just around. You know, mingling.”

Ryder cocks his head and looks James up and down. “Riigghhtt.” He drags it out dramatically, and I feel heat blazing my cheeks.

Ryder looks at my reddening face but quickly glances back to James with a straight face.

“I’m sure I must have missed you. I lined up a couple of meetings with potential clients for next week.

A lot of people are interested in the new meat in town.

Well, the ones that didn’t already know of the company from the New York branch. ”

James laughs, shaking his head. “You’re gross, but that’s great news. Maybe we can drop the other one if our numbers align.”

Ryder purses his lips but shrugs.

Ashlyn reaches over, pulling me down to the chair next to her. “Sit, I have to know everything.”

“What do you mean by everything ?” I laugh.

She sits back dramatically, clutching her chest. “Alexandra! You dirty girl. Obviously, everything , everything. But you can start with the PG things for now.”

We both double over laughing. Ryder drops back down in his vacated chair as James pulls the one next to me a tad closer, putting his arm across the back of my chair. “What’s so funny?” Ryder asks, leaning right in front of Ashlyn’s face.

She pushes his forehead back. “Mind your business.”

Ryder pretends to be wounded while James and I chuckle at them. “Excuse me, but this is my table that I invited you to. So therefore, everything at this table is my business,” he says as a matter of fact.

James leans forward to look at Ryder,.“Actually, this is my table.”

“Stay out of it.” Ryder playfully snaps back.

The tapping of a mic pulls everyone’s attention to the front of the room. “If you’ll excuse me, we are ready to start the auction. We are going to start tonight off with one year of free advertisement generously gifted from The Edward Corporation.”

There’s quiet murmuring all around. I look around the room trying to figure out where the owner of the company is seated as they have to be present for the auction, but various tables are pointing at us.

I lean over and whisper at James, “Why is everyone pointing at this table?”

His answering smirk is interrupted by the announcer. “We will start the bid at five million dollars.” He points to a man holding a paddle. “Five million, do we have six?” Another paddle goes up and another.

My mind is reeling. What in the hell? I feel James’s breath on my ear before I hear him. “They’re pointing because the owners of The Edward Corporation are at this table.” I turn to look at him with wide eyes, my mouth falls open. “I’m James Edward .”

“What the fuck do you mean?”

I turn so we are face to face. I watch as his smile gets bigger. “I mean what I said. It’s my company. I have the largest share then Ryder and Alester split the rest.”

I blink at him a few times, trying to comprehend just how much money these three are worth. “Wait. I thought you just worked for them? Why wouldn’t you correct me?”

“People sometimes act differently when they know I have the kind of money I have. So, I usually avoid bringing it up.” He places a hand on my thigh with the slit. His thumb rubbing circles on my bare skin. “It wasn’t a secret. Just a precaution I tend to take with everyone ever since Rebecca.”

“Hmm.”

He leans closer to me. “What are you thinking?”

“I really don’t fucking understand why you don’t have a full-size generator for the cabin now.”

His head drops back in a deep belly laugh, and soon I’m joining in.

I feel my overly full stomach after the five-course meal they served alongside the auction. “I think this dress is at its capacity.”

James looks at me, mortified. “It’s a brownie!”

“And I think I’m going to pop all of my seams if I eat that brownie.”

He blinks at me slowly before sliding off his jacket, then motions for me to put my arms in the sleeves sliding it over my back and buttons it. He picks up the brownie and holds it in front of my mouth. “Now you can eat it, and if the seams do break, you’re covered.”

He waits, watching my mouth, so I open with a giggle and let him feed me. Mmmm, he’s right. This is the softest brownie I’ve ever had. I close my eyes, savoring the rich chocolate melting in my mouth, the sweetness coating my tongue. I feel like I’m floating in a sea of sugar. I love it.

“I’m getting you another one. That was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.

” My shoulders shake with laughter as he jogs towards a server circling the room with a tray hovering over her shoulder.

He swings around her blocking her path, and swipes five more brownies before jogging back to me.

We are in the large ballroom. People are still filtering in from the auction room, ready to start business discussions and strike deals outside of the office.

“Alright. Part those lips for me again, babe.”

I’m glad my friends are engrossed in other conversations because I’m sure I’d never hear the end of the comments if they could hear James talking to me now.

I do as I’m told and open my mouth, never breaking eye contact as James slowly slides the brownie past my lips.

I bite down on the gooey chocolate and moan as it melts in my mouth again.

“Dammit, Alex. We need to get out of here.”
