Epilogue
Landon
The Christmas lights are dazzling as I step into the living room.
Jett took all four of the girls into the living room, making sure they’re in different colored outfits so we can tell all of them apart.
He has them all on the floor, safely to the side.
He sits on the floor, just watching them.
He can’t seem to take his eyes off of them, still overwhelmed by the newness of all of this.
I walk over to my mate, running my fingers through his short, dark hair as I pass. There’s a knock on the door and I run over, letting my parents inside.
“Merry Christmas,” I say, pulling them both into tight hugs.
“Landon, what’s going on? Why do you look so different?”
I point at my stomach. “The eggs have been laid!”
They forcibly shove me out of the way and run inside in search of their grandbabies. I’m left sputtering before laughing my ass off. “I see how it is,” I call out, shutting the door behind them. “I’m chopped liver now!”
“I love you with all my heart, but I need to see these beautiful grandbabies,” my dad calls back. A moment later I hear oohs and awws and crying. I pick up the bags my dads dumped on the ground, bringing them into the living room with me.
“They’re so beautiful,” my omega dad is saying. He’s sitting on the ground beside Jett, leaning his head against my mate’s shoulder. He’s also openly crying as he looks at our babies.
My alpha dad walks over to me, pulling me into a tight hug. “How are you? Everything okay after, you know, all of that?”
I hug him back just as tight. “I’m okay. It was a lot but I made it through.”
“Yeah, you did. Congratulations, Landon. Welcome to parenthood.”
I look at my dad for a long moment. “Thank you for the example you’ve given me. You’re a good dad.”
“I did the best I could,” he says, suddenly short on words. “I’ll be here for you. Always. You might be a grown alpha, but I’m not going anywhere.”
“Good, because I have a feeling I’m going to need all the extra hands I can get.”
My dad grins at me, putting his arm around my shoulder and bringing me over to the couch.
“I’m so happy for you both,” my omega dad says, finally pulling himself off the ground. He walks over to the couch, intending to sit beside my dad but he’s pulled into my dad’s lap instead. My alpha father growls playfully, running his nose against my dad’s jaw.
“Landon was determined to get his perfect Christmas baby pictures,” Jett says, flashing a grin in my direction.
“What Landon wants, Landon gets,” my omega dad says with a giggle. “It’s been that way since he was little.”
“You’re making me sound like a brat.”
“Of course you’re not a brat. You’re just very determined and when you put your mind to something, you make it happen.”
I smile. “The only thing I never got was that sibling.” I say it as a joke but my dads both freeze, looking at each other. Then they turn towards me.
“Umm, Jett. Would you mind grabbing my bag.”
“Uh, sure?”
He grabs the bag and hands it over to my dad. He pulls out a present and hands it over to me. “Go on. Open it up.”
I pull the paper, ripping it open. It’s a shirt. I hold it up, reading the front.
“World’s Best Big Brother.”
I look over at my fathers who’re staring at me. Jett starts laughing and a moment later, the rest of us are as well.
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah,” my omega father says with a shrug. “It was a bit of a surprise as you can imagine but we’re having a baby.”
I wrinkle my nose. “Oh my gods, that means you guys still do it. Gross.”
My alpha dad slaps my thigh. “When you’re our age, you’ll be impressed with how your mate makes you feel. The desire doesn’t ever go away,” he explains, kissing his mate’s cheek. “It only gets deeper.”
“You know what else gets deeper?”
“Nope. Absolutely not. I’m not listening to this!”
I jump off the couch and walk over to Jett whose arms are already open for me. “I hope we have a love like that.”
“Gross?”
He chuckles. “No. A love that lasts for the long haul. That grows with every year. A love that surrounds our children,” he says, nuzzling my cheek.
“Yeah, okay. I guess you’re right.”
When the girls start to wake up and demand bottles, we each take a baby to feed.
This is by far the best Christmas I’ve ever had and it’s the first of many, many more to come.
It’s hard to believe this all came to be because a few short months ago, I was out for a run that ended with me being snowed in with my super sexy neighbor who I’d never spoken to before.
Things could have ended so differently but at the same time, it feels like I was always destined to end up here, end up with Jett.
“I love you,” I whisper, kissing Jett’s cheek. I’m feeding Ruby while he’s holding Tayah. I lean my head against his shoulder and watch my parents fuss over Erika and Himari.
“I love you too, my heart.”
