Chapter 12 Becca
“Holy shit!” Sydney exclaimed, slapping her hands over her mouth after I finished catching her up on everything that happened since the night the snowstorm hit.
I finally reached the spicy part of the story, telling her about the best sex I ever had, including the part about taking two guys at once. “Syd. It was the sexiest thing I’ve ever done.”
Her eyes were wide. “Are you like, sore? Because, wow.”
“Like you haven’t shared your guys.”
“Uh, not like that.” She blinked. “I really want to after hearing all this.”
I giggled. “Worth it.”
“I’m going to put a message in our group chat.”
Aw. “You guys have a group chat?”
“Don’t you?”
“Not yet.”
Sydney typed out a message, and I laughed when I saw her put an eggplant emoji twice, then a wink.
“I hope they understood.” She stared at her phone, waiting for her guys to respond. “Oh, shit. They’re excited.”
“Of course they are.”
“They want me upstairs, naked, right now.” Her cheeks flushed as she kept reading messages. “Um. This is insane. You should see the chat.”
“Go, babe. Have fun. Get knocked up again,” I joked.
“I am so not ready for more babies yet.”
“But the practice part?”
She smiled. “More than ready.”
I thought so. “You’ll have to tell me all about it later.”
“If I’m not in bed, sleeping it off.”
I laughed as she rushed down the hall, leaving me alone at the table.
The bar seemed less rowdy than normal. The members were drinking, but not as much as usual.
They seemed to be taking it slow, which wasn’t normal behavior for bikers.
I had a feeling the club was on alert, but only the members knew anything about it.
Hades noticed I was alone. He picked up his beer and joined me, taking the chair across from mine. “Hey, sweet girl.”
“Dad.” I couldn’t help my grin. “I’m surprised you don’t have company.”
He chuckled. “Not tonight.”
Fair enough.
Hades cleared his throat, and I knew something was on his mind. “So, you’re okay with Rev and Diesel? They treat you good?”
“Oh, yes.”
“And Void? I know you’re not actually blood-related, but people will talk. That bother you?”
“Not in the least,” I assured him.
“So, if I asked if you’re making this official?” He let the question hang in the air.
“Are you talking about a property cut? Because I’ll proudly wear one saying I belong to all three of them.”
Hades smirked. “Yeah. I never doubted you would once you found the right biker.”
“You just didn’t think it would be three of them, right?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, looking a bit uncomfortable. “Well, no.” He shrugged. “But you know I don’t give a shit about it as long as you’re happy.”
He was too sweet.
“And you are.” He paused. “Happy. Right?”
This big, gruff biker was too much. “Yes. I am.”
Hades looked relieved. “Good. That’s good.”
“You know, I think this is the most awkward conversation we’ve ever had.”
“Agreed.”
“It trumps the time I had to go to you when my period started.”
He groaned. “Don’t remind me.”
“Congratulations. You have a daughter. This is only going to get more awkward and emotional.”
“Fuck,” Hades cursed. “Please tell me we aren’t going to discuss your sex life.”
I placed a hand on my chest, feigning shock. “Dad. How could you jump right to that topic? Do you really want to know?”
He recoiled as if I were a snake about to bite him. His chair toppled over as he stood. “Fuck no.”
I couldn’t hold it in any longer and laughed, rushing into his arms as he chuckled. “You walked into that.”
“I sure the fuck did.”
“Why don’t we agree that certain subjects are off limits, and sex is one of them? About either of us.”
“Done.” He squeezed me before dropping his arms. “Revenant is right, you know. You are a ball buster.”
“Learned from the best.”
“Yeah, you didn’t stand a chance with Bulldog and Hades raising you, did you? Poor kid.”
“I had the best childhood, so don’t go messing up all those warm and happy memories,” I chided.
“Yeah? You sure?”
“Yes. You and Dad were always there. Well, you both and Void.”
“He’s loved you from the beginning. Anyone with eyes could see he never thought of you as a sister.”
“I never really thought of him as a brother either.”
Hades was about to reply when I heard gunfire outside. “Hit the floor!”
We both dropped, and so did everyone around us, pressing as flat as possible to avoid injury.
“They must have tracked you somehow and found out you’re back at the clubhouse.” He looked pissed. “Follow me and remain low.”
Chaos erupted around us. Some of the club members were opening fire as they went outside to prevent anyone from
My gaze bounced around the bar. Where were Rev and Diesel? Was Void watching the cameras?
Wait. “Who? The traffickers?”
He didn’t answer. “Come on. I’ve got a place you can hide.”
I wanted to refuse. “What about Sydney?” And everyone else?
“She’s got Raptor, War, and Trojan to protect her.” He reached for my hand and pulled me down the hall. “Just a little farther, baby girl. Trust me.”
I did. I just didn’t want to feel like I was placing everyone in danger. What if those traffickers started killing people to get me to cooperate?
The hall should have been empty. If not, only club members and their bunnies or ol’ ladies. But as Hades and I rushed toward the door that led to his panic room, we found a stranger waiting for us.
“Hello, Hades.”
I froze, wondering why that voice sounded familiar.
Hades stood in front of me. “This isn’t about Becca. Leave her out of it.”
“I can’t do that. You made it about her when you killed my brother and then stole his child.”
“What?” I gasped. What the hell did that mean?
“He never told you the truth, Becca. Your father was a powerful man. He died before he could bring you back home.”
I was so confused. “I don’t understand.”
“You want her to believe that son of a bitch was a good man? He was a trafficker! He raped her mother!”
I stumbled backward, shocked by the revelation. It made sense. After all, why would she have been in the back of a truck moving kidnapped women? “No,” I whispered, heartbroken.
“Isabella was his property. He bought her in a deal that united two powerful families.”
“If she was so precious to him, why didn’t Isabella travel with him?” Hades shook his head. “You are owed nothing, and you won’t take Becca.”
“That is not your decision.”
“But it’s mine,” I replied, unable to stay silent any longer. “I don’t know who you are, and I don’t care. I’m not property, and neither was my mother. People are not things to be sold and bought, you monster!”
He laughed. “Ah, you have your mother’s fire. I quite liked the nights I spent with her. She never yielded, no matter how hard I fucked her into submission.”
I was going to be sick. My head turned, and I retched, almost emptying my stomach.
Hades glanced at me with concern but kept his focus on the man in front of us. I still didn’t know his name.
“It’s time for you to leave, Marco.”
Marco? My eyes closed, and a memory surfaced from when I was a little girl. It was foggy, and it probably wasn’t completely accurate, but I remembered Bulldog picking me up from school and being late. A man had approached me. He said his name was Marco.
Oh, shit. He almost kidnapped me!
Bulldog had been furious. That was why I remembered the name and the sound of his voice.
“This is your last chance to live, Marco. Walk away. Now.”
Marco didn’t move. He lifted his gun, aiming for the heart of the man I loved as much as Bulldog.
“No!” I cried, shoving at Hades, but he wouldn’t budge.
The gun fired, and I only had enough time to blink as I was shoved to the floor. The bullet hit Hades in the chest, throwing him backward.
I screamed as I scrambled toward him, pressing against the wound as blood began to pool, soaking into his shirt.
“Becca,” he croaked.
“Hey, it’s going to be okay. Help will come.”
Hades groaned.
“Stay with me! Dad, please!”
“You should have come with me, Becca.”
I turned at the sound of Marco’s voice, disgusted. “Fuck off, asshole.”
“You should watch that mouth.”
I snorted. “You don’t scare me. Where’s your backup? Why are you here alone? Because no one cares about you or gives a shit,” I spat. “Leave us alone.”
Marco roared at the insult before snatching my hair and hauling me up from the floor. “I’ll teach you better manners, bitch.”
“Let me go!” I shouted, fighting his hold as it stung my scalp.
“You should listen to her, Marco Fabrinelli.”
He turned at the sound of his name, staring into a horror few men ever saw and lived. The Grim Reaper had come for justice and stared him in the eyes. Marco looked terrified.
“Release the girl.”
Marco pulled his hand away, and I crawled back to Hades, applying pressure to his wound again. He mumbled as he drifted out of consciousness.
I couldn’t lose him!
The Reaper picked up Marco by the front of his dress shirt and slammed him against the wall. “You have a tainted, dark soul.”
“I-I’m sorry. Whatever you want, name it. I’ll give it to you.”
“Bring back Isabella from the dead.”
“I can’t do that!” Marco cried.
“And I can’t spare you. You chose this with every innocent you touched and violated. See what you’ve done. Feel their pain.”
I didn’t know what the Reaper showed him, but Marco began to wail in agony, shaking violently as he was lost to memories he made, but forced to endure them as the victims. He foamed at the mouth, convulsing as I shut my eyes, no longer wanting to watch.
Sudden wind swept through the hall, and I draped my body over Hades, trying to protect him and his wound from forces so strong and violent they could tear apart the whole building.
We weren’t in danger. I knew that, but the instinct to protect the man I loved as a father won out. I shivered as I heard inhuman cries rise from the ground, screaming in torment.
When it was over, and Marco was dead, his soul no longer on earth, I released a shaky breath.
“You’re safe, Becca.”
I blinked, turning my head to see Patriot. He had been the Reaper I saw, exacting justice that was long overdue. “Thank you.”
“Hades will recover.”
I didn’t know how, but I trusted Patriot.
“Becca!”
Rev and Diesel were running toward me.
“It’s okay. You can remove your hands. I can take over.”
I slowly pulled my hands away, seeing Patriot take my place. Whatever he was doing, it made Hades stir.
“Becca, baby.”
I jumped to my feet and ran to my guys. They caught me as I flung my body into them, crying with relief. I learned more horrible truths today, but I also learned that DNA doesn’t dictate our choices or who we become. It doesn’t define us.
I would never be anything like Marco or his brother.
“It’s okay,” Rev soothed.
“We’ve got you,” Diesel promised.
“I know.” I hugged them, needing their touch and warmth. “Stay with me.”
“You’ll never be rid of us,” Rev joked, but I knew it was true.
“Move in with me—both of you. Stay in the house with Void and me. We need you there.”
Diesel kissed my forehead. “Is today too soon?”
Rev tilted my chin up. His lips pressed to mine. “Marry me, Becca. Marry all of us.”
“Only if I get to walk her down the aisle.”
Hades!
I spun around, rushing into his embrace. “Dad! You’re okay!”
“I mean it.” He sounded choked up. “I get to hand you off if I have to give you up.”
“You’re not giving me up.” I kissed his cheek. “Just starting a different future than we imagined.”
“That doesn’t sound so bad, baby girl.”
It sounded perfect.
