9. Nix

Chapter 9

Nix

“ I ’ll bet this isn’t something you do in your everyday life.” I snuggled closer to Lee’s chest, partly to keep warm but also because he smelled good and felt even better.

“What? Sit in front of a fire with a sexy spitfire of a woman in the middle of the day? Or night? Actually I have no idea what time it is.” His brows dipped adorably as if he just realized that he didn’t know the time of day.

“You have someplace you have to be?”

“Other than buried deep inside of you, nope. No place at all.” He let out a bark of laughter. “Now that is new for me. Except for the five hours I sleep each night, I always know what time it is because there’s always a meeting or a phone call.”

“Sounds exhausting.” I couldn’t imagine living my life on such a rigid schedule. Sure, I had to get up extra early every morning of my life—except Tuesdays—but by two in the afternoon my day was over and I was free to do whatever I wanted, after a catnap of course. “Do you enjoy it?”

“The hectic schedule? Not really but it’s all part of the business, which I do love.” His face lit up when he talked about his work, which I didn’t expect but it made me curious.

“What do you love about it?” I laughed at the hesitant look he shot me. “It’s not a trap or a trick, I’m genuinely interested in your answer.” I assumed it was all about the potential to make big piles of cash and to my own chagrin, I never even considered the idea that he loved his work.

“I can’t deny that I do love making a deal, negotiating and the push and pull of making sure we both get what we want without giving up too much to the person on the other side of the table. But the thing I love most is taking a plot of land, just dirt and rock and turning it into something magnificent. There’s nothing like it.”

Lee was handsome on a regular day but when he spoke about his career, his face lit up and he went from handsome to breathtaking. “What?”

“Nothing,” I blinked and shook my head, flashing a nervous smile. “It’s just that you’re so happy and glowing when you talk about your work and it made me realize something. Our jobs aren’t so different. We both take ingredients and turn them into something else.”

His smile grew. “You’re right. Do you feel that way after taking flour and sugar and butter and turning into dozens of amazing edibles?”

“Oh yeah, and watching customers eat them, smiling and groaning and telling me how much they love my creations. It’s nice. Okay,” I laughed. “It’s more than nice.”

He leaned forward, still smiling. “Looks like we have something else in common.”

“Yeah,” I sighed. “Looks like it.” I wrapped my arms around him a second before his mouth crashed to mine in a blistering kiss that shook me to my core. No one had ever kissed me with such intensity, with such a hunger that felt like they’d die if they didn’t get another taste of me. I kissed him back just as intensely, flicking my tongue against his until he moaned and pulled my body with him as he rolled to his back.

“I love the way you feel. So soft in my hands.” His voice was rough and low while his hands kneaded my hips and ass as he guided me back and forth over the ridge of his erection.

“You feel pretty good too,” I moaned and tossed my head back as my hips moved on their own, desperate for the feel of his body against mine. “So, so good.”

“Tease,” he growled and ripped off my shirt, smiling at the sight of my nipples pebbled by a combination of this man and the cool air. “Mmm, perfect,” he hummed before he wrapped his lips around that tight bud and sucked, swirling his tongue around it, nibbling it and sucking it again.

“Lee,” I panted at the pleasure he gave me and speared my fingers through his hair, holding him in place.

He moved to the other nipple and my whole body vibrated with need. The little groans he made as if the taste of me was getting to him pushed me closer to the edge. His hands slid down my back and into my pants, gripping my ass possessively. “Come. Now.”

“I’m right here,” I told him, confused by the hot request.

“No, right here.” He leaned back and licked his lips. “Sit on my face.”

My cheeks heated but my whole body got hot at the idea of doing something so naughty. “Are you sure? I mean, I can’t be responsible for killing a billionaire.”

He laughed and patted the spot beside his head. “Right here.”

I weighed my options. Twice. And once I realized how hot this experience could be, I jumped to my feet and shucked out of my pants with a greedy smile as my gaze landed on the giant bulge in his pants. “I’ve never done this before,” I told him as I sank onto his face and reached inside his pants.

“You don’t have to, ah,” he moaned when I fisted his cock in my hand. “Nix, fuck.”

I smiled around his thick length and intensified my movements, taking him deeper and adding more moisture between us. His hips began to move and so did mine because every swipe of his tongue, every time he invaded me with his tongue, my body jerked. I was wrapped up in the moment, giving and receiving at the same time was such a head rush and the intensity of it was all-consuming. It was as if nothing else in the world existed between us, just our bodies and the heat that flickered beside us.

His groans grew louder and mixed with my own as we both inched towards orgasm as a full gallop. My hips moved against his face, the scruff of a few days without shaving did delicious things to my thighs.

“Oh god!” The words came out on a shout around his cock when one finger slid deep and I took him as deep as I could.

“Nix!” My name came out muffled and the vibration sent me over the edge.

My body shook and trembled, vibrating as the need crawled up my legs, my waist and then my arms. My nipples tightened painfully, soothed only by the roughness of the short hairs on his stomach. My body convulsed uncontrollably, impaling myself on his cock while pleasure coursed through my veins. The sensation was delicious and I didn’t care that my mouth and my throat was full of him, I never wanted this moment to end. But all good things did eventually and when I swallowed, Lee lost it.

“Oh fuck,” he groaned against me, fucking me harder with his finger as he shot his load down my throat.

I couldn’t move so I swallowed it down, the salty honey coated my throat until he was wrung dry. His body jerked as I continued to suck him but he never asked me to stop, just massaged my ass while his finger stayed buried deep and his tongue flicked at my clit. “Yes.”

His hips jerked one final time and he pulled his finger free from my body with a grunt. “So. Hot.”

I released him with a pop and rolled onto my back. “Really fucking hot. More than I expected.”

Lee sat up. “You really never did that before?”

“Nope. One at a time and not even all that often,” I admitted sheepishly. “But that was out of his world. The better you made me feel, the more it spurred me on to make you feel good. Like nothing I’ve ever felt.”

“Keep talking like that and I’ll be buried deep in your sweet body sooner rather than later.”

I laughed. “Don’t threaten me with an orgasmic time.” I couldn’t remember the last time I had so much fun with a man, especially naked.

“Nix,” he sighed. “I like you.”

I let out a heavy sigh of my own. “I like you too, Lee.”

“Against your better judgment?” There was a smirk on his face but I could tell that my answer mattered.

“No.” He deserved an honest answer. “I like you, full stop. I don’t have to like your business to like you, and I do. Like you, that is.”

His smile grew wider and wider until he was beaming at me. “Thank you.” He flipped his position and fit the front of his body to the back of mine and held me tight.

It was the most comfortable I’d felt with a man in a long time. I didn’t have to suck in my belly or pretend that I don’t like to sample my baked goods because Lee liked my curves. I felt free to explore what I liked sexually with him, which was liberating in a whole new way.

Yeah, I was sleeping with the enemy—and enjoying it—but when he held me like he did and tucked his chin right over my shoulder, puffs of warm breath slowed as he fell into a gentle sleep, he didn’t feel like the enemy.

He felt like something big.

Something important.

Something that was guaranteed to hurt in the end.
