Epilogue

The warm May sun beats down on us as we celebrate breaking ground for the new literature wing at POAA.
Mair and Murphy both give speeches, and there's local press taking photos.
I convinced my wife to go public with her donation, telling her that she is doing something wonderful with her money and that should be celebrated.
As we walk away from the groundbreaking, Alana loops her arm through mine, looking up at me and says, "Well, now that the wing has officially started, I have something to tell you."
Turning to her, I study her beautiful face. "What's that?"
"I'm pregnant, Lorne," she says, giggling and grinning up at me.
I scoop Alana up into my arms, twirling her around, not caring who sees. "Are you serious?"
"Very," she says, wrapping her arms around me and pressing her mouth against mine.
When we part, I say, "I love you so damn much."
"I love you too, future daddy."
