EPILOGUE

Aelys

It's been a year since the Dark Mage, Darkvis, officially took control of the magical world. The sun still appears in the sky, but its light seems dull and lacks warmth. The trees and flowers have all withered, leaving only an apocalyptic landscape behind.

The remaining fairies and non-magical beings are hunted down by Darkvis's followers and executed. Now, piles of corpses litter the streets, giving the air a terrible stench. No one likes to go out anymore, too afraid of being killed or simply disgusted by the stench of corpses.

As for Mattheo and I, we assist the Master in his decision-making. We help him choose new laws and plan certain raids against our enemies.

Arthur and Kiara finally declared their love for each other and married three months after O'Connor's death. They live in a small cottage near Inverness, given to them by Carmen because Kiara categorically refused to live under the same roof as Darkvis.

Theodore and Paula are also together now, their love blossoming after Theodore was injured during the battle at the Academy and our friend took care of him. They live in Nottingham Manor. Theodore's parents died during the battle, leaving all their possessions to their only son.

My cousin Nancy, Enzo and Cameron live together in a mansion near the Leroi Mansion they bought together. The post-traumatic stress from the battle brought them closer, they became inseparable.

Tom still lives at Leroi Manor with his father and Arthur's parents, following his every command in the hope of being forgiven for his betrayal.

He's become cold, a veritable war machine for the Dark Mage.

It must be said that his missing eye and the scars left by my lioness claws help amplify his sinister reputation.

Mattheo also has a reputation as a powerful and invincible warrior, leading troops brilliantly during the raids he participates in. Everyone fears and admires Mattheo Rigast, the great heir of the Dark Mage.

The latter rarely leaves Leroi Manor to ensure its protection, leaving his heir to speak to the people during official public announcements.

Now everyone fears the Dark Mage's sons more than Darkvis himself since he is never seen by the public.

My father gave us a magnificent Mansion in France, knowing that I had always wanted to visit that country. With the Dark Mage's permission, we moved there, on the condition that Mattheo attends meetings daily and obeys his every command.

Now, in these dark times, all we can do is survive, by any way necessary. I pray to the Gods every day for us to have a long life, and for us to be able to have a healthy baby soon.

If the Master or his enemies don’t kill us first.
