12. Marco

CHAPTER 12

The straightforward mission we’d been assigned weeks ago had taken on too many moving parts, pulling our focus in directions none of us expected, Rod included.

We weren’t surprised, but definitely annoyed. The Italian resurfaced like the cockroach he was.

“He was barely a footnote on our list in the beginning,” Cruz whined as we staked out Brazzi’s restaurant on Miami Avenue. It was past midnight, and we were both tired, ornery, and wishing we were back in bed with our girl. “I bet if he hadn’t spoken to Em on the first night, we wouldn’t be dealing with all of this.

“But he did, so here we are.” Wasting breath complaining wouldn’t change things.

Even with the additional teams the Pack sent in, we were spread too thin. Our sole focus should be helping Em in any way possible, not waiting for a signal to add a tracker to Brazzi’s fourth car.

The bastard kept popping up with new ones. Either he was an aficionado, or he was suspicious someone was watching him. Possibly both.

From what the teams observed, he was much more careful than anyone expected. He wasn’t a newbie like Dias, yet he didn’t have the backing of the Italian mob. He wasn’t operating alone—we were sure of that—but we didn’t know where he got his support.

Maybe that would all come out soon, but so far, it didn’t seem to be worth dedicating hours of work to figuring out.

He was a slippery fucker, and it was beginning to piss us all off.

We could have ignored him and let him run his illegal empire in peace, but he made one very large mistake by going after our girl. Now he was on our enemy list. Not that El Lobo minded us removing additional competitors while we were here.

Getting the approval to take him out when he exceeded his usefulness was one of the greatest emails we’d ever received. But we’d let him drive Dias crazy for a while longer.

Cruz’s phone lit up with a new message.

“Clear,” he announced before slipping out of the passenger side and calmly walking past Brazzi’s hideous orange Lotus.

He tripped, looked at his untied shoes, and dropped to his knees. His arm ducked under the car and placed the tracker in a move so smooth I doubt anyone would have noticed if they weren’t watching for it.

He continued down the block, and I waited for him to be out of view before starting the car and turning down the next street to pick him up, only he wasn’t there.

I pulled over, ignoring the no parking signs, and waited. He couldn’t have gotten caught. Maybe he saw something.

Less than a minute later, he rounded the corner and jogged over.

“What happened?” I asked.

“Brazzi came out with a man telling him an unexpected delivery came in so their previous pick-up date should be pushed forward.”

“That’s it?”

He pulled his seat belt on. “Yeah. Brazzi was thrilled and said he would make calls. They didn’t say anything else.”

An unexpected delivery as in the arrival or the contents? What would Brazzi receive that would make him so excited?

It could literally be anything. Another ugly car. Extra hair gel. Overpriced shoes. Weapons. Drugs. We had no way of knowing without locating the delivery.

“Ugh,” I groaned. “Let’s update Javi. He can assign someone else to dig in. Hopefully, it has nothing to do with Dias.”

Cruz grabbed my phone and called him over the car’s Bluetooth.

“You guys good?” he asked in a rush.

“Yeah, the tracker’s placed, but I heard something weird on my way out.” Cruz repeated what he’d told me. “It’s probably nothing but might be worth looking into.”

Javier was quiet for a long time before he sighed. “Can’t they stop for just one day?”

I laughed at his exasperation. “I’ve been thinking the same thing.”

“Derek, take over.” The sound of rustling in motion filled the car, and I heard Em moan.

“Are you guys fucking right now?” Lucky bastards!

“Until we were rudely interrupted. Now they are, and I’m back to working,” Javi grumbled and slammed a door. “Right, I’ll let the delta team know. They’ve been following a few leads on Brazzi, so I’ll have them monitor for anything interesting. Maybe it’s a birthday gift for his grandma and not a new type of bomb.”

“Sounds good.” I turned onto the road back to the marina. “How’s Dias?”

“He’s all over the place.” Javi sighed again.

We were all reaching the ends of our ropes. We needed a break. A vacation. Maybe just a day off.

“He’s trying to repair his warehouse, keep up with his normal inventory and shipments from Cuba, and he just got word from his team in Mexico about additional threats.”

“From us?” Cruz perked up.

“Yeah, they know it’s the Velez, but they still don’t seem to understand the gravity of their situation. Dias definitely doesn’t. We listened in on a call where they were basically begging him for instructions. They have no idea what to do other than hold down their territory, but apparently, we now control the local airport. They can’t get deliveries that way anymore.”

“What a mess.” I couldn’t help but laugh.

“There’s more,” Javi continued, excited. “He negotiated with the gang for peace on the night of Em’s birthday party.”

“Really? What were the terms?”

“He gave up some of his territory here. Part of the area around the docks. Now his crews will have to go one specific way to avoid crossing into the gang’s area.”

I parked, and Cruz and I laughed.

“What an idiot,” I said.

“I know. His men are pissed. Almost everyone we have tracked has made a comment or two about how unstable he is. He’s oblivious too. All reports for the past two days have come back that he’s extremely distracted. Constantly checking his phone and on edge.”

“That’s perfect. We’ve got one thing going our way.”

Allowing him to dig his own grave was getting easier and easier. If we could focus our attention on him, we’d be home by the end of the week, at the rate he was self-destructing.

“Hurry back, and you might be able to join in. We were just getting started.”

I cut the engine as Cruz swung his door open. “Hurry, or I’m leaving you behind!”

Javi laughed. “Better catch up. You can update me later.”

I ran after Cruz, locking the car behind me, and leaped into the boat as he pulled away from the dock. “Damn it, you couldn’t have given me a few more seconds?”

He chuckled. “Nope.”

I glared at him but waited until he unlocked the door to our apartment to mess with him. “Javi asked you to go over everything you heard.”

“Fuck off. No, he didn’t.”

I shrugged and tugged my shirt over my head. “You wanted to place the tracker, not me.”

He rolled his eyes and marched toward the security room. I headed toward the bedrooms, guided into Derek and Cruz’s by Em’s sweet moans.

I swung the door open and tried to ignore my brother’s naked ass as he thrust into our girl from behind. Instead, I focused on her swinging tits and the scrunch of her face as she took him deep.

My cock hardened instantly, so I shed my jeans and moved closer, palming myself over my briefs.

Derek grunted, throwing his head back as he came with her. When they were done, he opened his eyes and saw me. A smile tugged on his lips.

“And here I was feeling guilty for only getting her off twice.”

“What?” Em looked over her shoulder and grinned. “You’re back.”

“No, yours.”

Derek scooted back and stood.

“Huh?” She looked confused.

“I want you on your back,” I explained as I bent over the bed and kissed her.

She smiled against my lips before dropping and rolling over to lie how I wanted. I pushed my briefs down and climbed over her, sitting back on my heels while taking in the gorgeous woman who owned our hearts.

“Good girl.” I ran my hands over her legs, admiring her glistening pussy. “Did my brother’s cock satisfy you?”

Her golden-brown eyes darted to Derek. “Yes.”

“But you still want more?”

She smiled. “Always.”

“So greedy.” I lowered my head between her legs, gripping her thighs, and pressed a kiss to her lips before shoving my tongue between them and licking up the dripping mess my brother left until I found her clit and flicked it over and over.

“Oh, fuck!” she cried. “Marco!”

“You asshole,” Cruz yelled.

I turned my head enough to waggle my brows, not giving up my hold on her needy nub.

“He could have waited,” he chided as he undressed and climbed in next to Em, kissing her.

Derek laughed next to me.

I pushed myself up and grinned. “My bad.”

Cruz flipped me off, not breaking his lips from hers. Smart man. His hand drifted down to her chest, squeezing her breast while I pushed a finger into her.

She jerked and gasped—not the good kind.

I pulled my hand back. “Fuck! What did I do?”

She lifted her head.

“Not you.” She looked at Cruz. “Sorry. My boobs are a little sore right now.”

He frowned. “I’m sorry.”

Derek and I shared a grin.

“No, it’s fine. Just maybe give them a break?” She wrapped her hand around the back of his neck and pulled him back down to kiss her.

I dragged my finger down her slit, swirling her arousal over her entrance as I scooted closer and lifted her legs to wrap around my hips. I didn’t give a warning before slamming my cock into her.

She moaned against Cruz, gripping his light brown hair between her fingers.

I set a punishing pace, knowing she was ready for me thanks to Derek’s warm-up. Not that my brother seemed spent. He was standing next to the bed, pumping himself in time with my thrusts.

I smirked and focused back on my princess, digging my fingers into her ass as I made her mine.

Her walls tightened, and with one more drive, she cried out, holding Cruz to her shoulder as she screamed out her release. That pushed me over the edge, and my hips jerked as I came inside her. My chin dropped to my chest. I had to catch my breath, but Cruz had other plans.

“Move over, old man. She’s not done.”

I lowered her hips to the bed and rolled to my side, not recovered enough yet to move as he took my spot. He lifted her legs up, crossing her ankles behind his head.

“Come on, nena. You’ve got one more for me?”

She gasped. “Cruz.”

But he was already buried in her. She fisted the sheets as she threw her head back. “Fuck!”

“You’re not done yet.” Derek moved closer, lowering his arm between them.

She cried out, and I sat up to watch him work her clit while Cruz pushed her legs closed tight around his neck.

“Oh, god!” she whimpered. “I’m going to come!”

“Yes, nena,” Cruz grunted.

Two more pumps, and she screamed loud enough I was positive people three floors down heard her ecstasy.

Cruz’s movements became jerky, and he closed his eyes as he came with her. After he finished, he lowered her legs, and she dropped her arms over her face.

“I think I’m dead.”

“No, princess.” I leaned down and pressed a kiss to her stomach. “You’re ours.”

For now.

We spread out on the bed, recouping, until Javi’s voice broke through the love-drunk haze.

“He’s a monster.”

I sat up, not bothering to cover myself. “Who?”

Javi sat on the corner of the mattress, not bothered by the nudity. It would take a lot more than seeing his brothers and woman together to bother a shifter.

“Fucking Dias.”

Em lifted to one elbow. “What happened?”

He looked at her with indecision in his eyes. He didn’t want to tell her. Was it really that bad?

“Javi,” she pressed.

He blew out a tired breath and turned, lifting his knee as he faced us. “A dozen or so neighborhood kids approached his men. They knew they were talking to Dias’s guys and asked for work.”

“Kids?” I asked.

“Fourteen to seventeen-year-olds is what the delta team guessed.”

“Delta? They’re supposed to be following Brazzi,” Cruz cut in.

“Yeah.” Javi shook his head. “One of Dias’s guys called him and asked if they had work for these kids. They were desperate for money, and he figured they could do some runs or something. Dias told him to send them to the docks to unload a shipment.”

Em nodded. “Okay?”

“He sent them to Brazzi’s docks, but they didn’t know that. He told them to tell whoever was there that Alessio Dias himself sent them.”

Derek tensed. “No.”

Javi nodded. “They were all shot immediately. Killed just because they needed help and thought they could trust Dias.”

Em pursed her lips and stared at the ceiling.

“He might not have pulled the trigger, but he killed thirteen children tonight.”

“Why?” Cruz asked. “It doesn’t make sense.”

“Because those kids weren’t nameless, faceless street rats.” Javi rubbed his jaw. “They have parents and families that will miss them. They’ll go to the cops. They’ll look for them.”

“And Brazzi will be blamed,” I finished.

Javi met my eyes and nodded.

“Well, fuck. That’s one way to get revenge.” Cruz dropped back against the pillows.

“He truly is a monster,” Em muttered.
